I have much respect for Governor Cuomo's actions fighting the Corona Virus in N.Y. I'm not from N.Y., but, I watched his systematic approach. I'm sure it was the most difficult challenge he faced to date. He was also a model for other Governor's who had not yet experienced the crisis N.Y. faced. I lived in Germany, and I have many good memories. Thanks for your comments.

Governor Cuomo is inspiring and informative. As a retired nurse I would like to shout out to all hospital staff. Mrs. Clinton say it takes a village ( to raise a child) but it also takes a village to run a Hospital. So to all the nurses, doctors , housekeeping ,clerks ,porters social workers, dieticians, and anyone else
that makes a hospital work I salute you. When this is over I look forward to visiting you fair state again. I have fond memories of New York.

Nice to read this. I feel like these workers never get shoutouts like this. My husband is a concierge/doorman and hasn’t stopped working. He does everything for his tenants. He’ll get a text while he’s home from one of the elder ladies and she’ll ask him if he can buy stuff she needs like sanitizers, meds for hubby whatever it is. He’ll leave early just to stop at the drug store for her and make it to work on time. It’s little things like that, that gets over looked. So thank you for your post. I wish he could stay home but this is not the case. Stay safe and heathy. 😊

This is the difference between a well thought out plan based on science and fact and one based on politics and propiganda. The evidence of which works will soon be evident. When the numbers spikes in the states that based their reopening on BS they'll have to close and do it all over again.
Mine will be one of those states. I live in Virginia, we are starting the first phase of reopening Friday. I have made the decision to not go back to work because I have two children and a grandmother who is immunocompromised that I care for.

Jessica Tran Someone has to be the highest. New York provides the most services, so it taxes the most too.
There appears to be a correlation between high taxes and quality of state government, especially the governor. I live in Arizona, where property taxes are cheap, but the governor and state legislature are worthless. Still no testing here and tattoo parlors are open for business.

How do you define “failing”? It’s not the federal government’s job to fix everything. In fact, according to the Constitution, the federal government has few, enumerated powers. The rest falls squarely on the states. The states failed to prepare and then blamed the federal government for it failing to prepare. That’s laughable. No one should be blaming anyone. No one can be prepared for strange, new viruses. It’s literally impossible to prepare for the unknown.
