Wowww thank you! Honestly I'm thinking to recover this one because I know I can do it better. But I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Makes the decision to recover it just a little bit harder :)
My favorite memories of playing the Final Fantasy series has always been the music. You are a piano playing goddess! Thank you for making these videos. 😍
I've always loved Mr. Uematsu's music above all else. A master to my own eyes on the videogame musical composition. As an avid metal / classical / videogame music aficionado like myself, I thought I'd never find anyone on this earth able to do faithful cover compositions good enough to match his master skills, but now I've come across you on youtube and seen a couple of your covers, I must say you have the skills and passion to play alongside him on the same celestial level! Your music is far from regular piano play, it's an art in its purest form, the tempo and fluidity you stroke those keys with is definitely something which I myself would give a kidney or a pinky finger for a tenth of! (Then again without a pinky finger I wouldn't be able to play that well either way :) ) And this One-Winged Angel is a total masterpiece, here I can see easily how playing the piano is children's play for you! How I envy your skills. i wish I'd play a hundredth of what you play. I've always wanted to learn to play the piano expertly but unfortunately I have no energy or time or means to, nowadays. I'm glad there are people like you who in turn present us which such magnificent art of the musical pieces we love! Final Fantasy music and a few more RPG's have always been my reference for the perfect music (I can listen to Final Fantasy music regardless of my mood, it always fits whatever mood I'm in). I'm on a spree of listening to your covers right now and always eager to whichever song I see next on the next song suggestions. Have you ever considered playing Chrono Trigger /Chrono Cross songs? There are quite a few that I personally think match Final Fantasy's general mood! I would so very much like to hear you play "The Sealed Door" and "Scars Left By Time"! :D By the way, perhaps the best way to know how to interpret this song was to listen to the "Advent" version Advanced (not the regular one), from the movie, and also the original videogame version! Those two combined in my opinion who provide the best apex of its ambient! Also of course the Distant Worlds version is great, but it is, by itself, already another interpretation :P You're a musical goddess, thank you for existing Kara! :D
Kara, you just melted my face off--and I mean that in the most praising, pleasant way possible--my jaw increasingly agape on its way down until it at last culminated in a :O expression before falling completely off, to the floor...figuratively! Well ok in reality it was more like immediate smiles and joy haha. This is definitely unique from all the other covers and arrangements I've heard, but that is far from a bad thing--I thoroughly enjoyed it! I mean, here I am listening to it for like the VII'th time already...I'm not sure if it was always there, but I like the little waltz part haha, and that ending :O You said to have a good day, and this right here made it!
Thank you so much, your comments are......for lack of a better word...incredible haha. Yeah the waltz part is so cute, and lasts only a couple measures out of nowhere! Really clever and creepy at the same time. :) Thank you again for ALL your kind words from the very start. They mean a lot!!
haha I'm just glad you are a good sport about it, sometimes I get carried away XD I hope they don't ever come off as sarcasm though, they are not. I really love your renditions
Thank you, I've heard a couple people say it's "unique" and I wonder what they mean by that! Maybe I play it a little more elegantly than most....which I'm not sure is a good thing HAHA. But again, thank you Max :) I hope you'll like my Disney cover coming tomorrow!
Great job, Kara! I sang the Latin lyrics from the OST to this since I know them by heart hahaha. The Sephiroth battle is so ridiculous-his supernova attack that destroys multiple planets (over and over again every time he uses it lol) is unable to kill your own characters. I love video games and how they don't make sense sometimes lol.
Thank you very much! It was a tough one to do on the piano because it doesn't have as much of an intense feel as the original or an orchestrated version. But it was fun to play and I think it turned out nicely! thank you again for watching! :)
Wow you likes classical music and video game /movie music like me..... I think you got me ^^ I wish i could play so good like you but i am still a pretty new piano student. Greatings from germany.

Thank you very much! After I won a competition for Final Fantasy XIV, I decided this was going to be my niche, and it's been such a fun journey so far! I hope it won't end soon :)
Congratulations! IMHO the best interpretation of this piece on RUclips. I spent whole afternoons listening to different versions and always found something, that feels off. But your classical approach gives a whole new feeling to this masterpiece, fitting this beautiful Steinway perfectly! Those nearly overly short hits combined with the perfect dynamics suit the classical feeling, the piece just has to have, in a magical way, whilst underlining the the evil spirit and march-like character. You inspired me to have another view on this piece, as I am learning it now myself. Thank you very much for this performance! Of course I subbed, I really admire the way you work with that piano and I am a little jealous ;)
Wow that's saying a lot, thank you for this. Even so, I still feel I'm missing something as well with this piece. I had a passion to learn it though, and perhaps my classical side makes the beauty stand out. I believe Uematsu would've wanted it interpreted classically. :) Also love the "poeticness" of your comment hahaha!
You're welcome! Maybe it doesn't sound as "badass" as you would expect Sephiroths theme, but this interpretation feels like something "whole" and "complete" unlike the other versions I heard or play myself lol. The worst is actually the official recording. In this point I agree with you. Mr. Uematsu's music does always have a classical touch, even played on 90's synths. I read somewhere of you planning to wait for the FFVII Remake. This project could take years to be finished and I'm sure, it won't be as good as the old game. One can't just remake FFVII :D Haha :D Playing the piano's got something of poetry just without words, so writing about it is poetic as well ;)
Hm, you got me thinking to just play the original VII instead. I thought for some reason that it already had a release date (although I don't follow these things hahah), but maybe I need to stop waiting!!
Haha, go ahead and enjoy this beautifull game! ;) I got one question though. Could you do a video on your usage of pedals? My pianos pedals have a really large angle I can use to dose the amount of effect and they are surprisingly sensitive. I tend to use too much pedal and would like to know, how you decide where to use sustain and how much!
Oh! I never think much about how I use the pedal to be honest. I think because it's mostly related to the ear, and just being a good listener. I can try to give some tips on my live stream tomorrow if you can make it ^^ but yes, because all pianos are different, the pedaling technique will be different on every piano you play. On my piano here at home, I use the soft pedal almost the entire time, because the piano is very big for the room it's in. But if I was in a big recital hall with a big, mellow sounding grand piano, I probably would use barely any soft pedal at all. :O
Now that I can listen to this in its entirety, I can confirm that this is a stunning rendition. A great way to start my day this morning thank you Kara.
Thank YOU Matthew! You know as well as I do that it's the LISTENERS that are our inspiration to continue what we do. Thank you for watching, and I always enjoy reading your comments!

You're really good at this and I don't understand why you don't have more subscribers ... Would you ever consider doing other video games? Kingdom Hearts maybe?
Thank you so much for that! Actually I once got the music for the piece called Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts. My brother said people would go crazy for it. Unfortunately it didn't speak much to me- I thought it was fairly repetitive compared to most of the Uematsu music I've played :( I don't know, maybe I need to give it another chance!
Well I understand where you're coming from but it is meant to be menu music so that's why it's repetitive there's some other really great kingdom hearts music such as the other promise and sora's sacrifice

Let me know when you post One Winged Angel, I'd love to hear your interpretation! I'm sorry for my delay on my RUclips channel, I am having a hard time juggling all of my social media pages D: Thanks so much for commenting!!
I can really feel the flow of the music. The original recording is a bit more intense I believe and the structure of the piano collection version is quite different from the OST version and DW version. Honestly, you rendition reminds me Kefka - the main villain of FFVI for some reason, which it's also one of the greatest villains of FF series, and naturally I would like to hear you play "Dancing Mad" From FF Piano Opera, I'm sure your rendition would be legendary! XD Really great and unique rendition!! :)
Ah yes, Dancing Mad is one I'm familiar with and have been asked to play! Via Purifico and Yuma's Theme will be coming soon, but maybe I'll have to fit in Dancing Mad soon too! I want to cover them all :) Yeah, my playing is kinda girly I know XD But I agree that the piano version is very much different than what you hear during the actual fight.
Aw thank you for visiting and commenting! I know this reply is late, but your comment still means just as much to me. I hope you've been enjoying the last bits of fall down there!
Wow thank you so much! And thank you so much for subscribing! One of the big ones I hope to cover at some point soon is Dancing Mad. It's awesome but hard like this one!
OK I finally found the right version of this Awesome composition. Aggressive, passionate, you certainly found the essence of this piece. The nugget of Truth that makes this a great work and you've captured it. Simply Outstanding!! Best rendition, bar none, and I've been listening a lot.
6 years late to the party, but just wanted to say as a HUGE FF VII fan, don't worry, you've absolutely nailed the spirit of this song.
To be able to play this piece is definitely my ultimate goal as a pianist
I have that same goal! As well as the Carmina Burana poems. Lol
The goosebumps are real, no matter which version you're listening to, be it the original, orchestrated, piano solo or the church organ. Love your interpretation on this wonderful yet villainous song here.

I'll definitely consider it, I hope to cover a lot of other game music besides Final Fantasy! :)
I might have been thinking of another song because that's not the song I was thinking it was
FRIEZA WILL SEARCH THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE LOOKING FOR YOU. YOU MUST RETURN. EARTH NEEDS A PROTECTOR.
i was effraid in the start of the music i didn't recognize some parts , but when i heard since 1:20 i was reassured ☺
You did a very great job ♥
Hahah thank you!! :)
You are playing awesome and looking good, but damn you are scaring me.
I subbed because of the amazing performance, and that zesty jump at 4:20
YessSSSSSSSS :D
That was fantastic!
Aw thanks Eddie!!
You are truly magnificent. Such an inspiration!! I'm just teaching myself how to play the piano with my keyboard :)
Good luck to you! that's wonderful!
@@KaraComparetto 4 years later and this still gives me such intense goosebumps. It moves me to tears! I make videos myself but they're more fanbased to games and shows I love but I totally support people's creativity. Is learning sheet music hard? I can't quite get it
Better than the CD! Great job!
Oh my God. You are beautiful, this is amazing
Wow thank you!! :D
Arrepio sempre que venho aqui
i miiiight be in love o.O
That flourish at the end! 😻
Solid transition to piano. Well done
Thank you very much, I have issues with this one but I'm also happy for so much nice feedback :)
What a treat to listen to! Well played Kara =)
Can't wait to start learning this one myself, have another FF VII piece to post first though ;)
XD
Really great and unique rendition!!
I love it and the game
so awesome
Aw thank you for visiting and commenting! I know this reply is late, but your comment still means just as much to me. I hope you've been enjoying the last bits of fall down there!
Love the ending! It's the same way I felt when I first beat Sephiroth so many years ago!
Brilliant.
Thank you so much!!
Ahhhh! My favorite villain of all time!
Beautiful! Girl and song. :) Well done.
Wow thank you so much! And thank you so much for subscribing! One of the big ones I hope to cover at some point soon is Dancing Mad. It's awesome but hard like this one!
This makes me want to be a better musician. Holy crap, dude.
OK I finally found the right version of this Awesome composition. Aggressive, passionate, you certainly found the essence of this piece. The nugget of Truth that makes this a great work and you've captured it. Simply Outstanding!! Best rendition, bar none, and I've been listening a lot.
Awesome! Very gentle, and...maybe wild would be better?
Amazing!
YAY thank you! Ah you FF fans are simply the best, I just love you guys hahaha. :)
Great job! Such great quality...you've covered sephiroth, now on to kefca. Could you cover Dancing Mad from FF6?
I'm gonna try to make Dancing Mad my summer project! A piano/organ arrangement is what I had in mind :O
looking forward to it!
Kara Comparetto still havent got to it eh?
