  • Is the Smokey Mountain 1000 better than the MABDR? We think it could be because of the good combination of off road riding vs pavement riding as well as the great views on the Blue Ridge parkway. This is definitely an adv motorcycle route worth checking out. This is episode 1 of a 4 part series so stick around and decide for yourself if it is better than the Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route.

      I'm logged into my other RUclips account. The BRP was my first motorcycle camping trip. I graduated in 1991. My dad asked what I wanted to do....Senior Cruise trip or something else. I told him I wanted to go ride the complete length of the BRP. So he took my bike, 1980 XS1100 Midnight Special and bought me a new Katana 750. We took a week and rode a total of 1,600 miles. We did it every last week of August for 14 yrs. After his heart attack, it took away our time on two wheels together. But my best memories with him are from the Parkway!

    Timmys Grumpy Grill burgers are ELITE!
    I find myself coming back to your guys' content for entertainment. Many videos ive seen several times.
    To me, it seems like one of the only channels that is authentic.
    Just two normal guys who enjoy adv bikes and camping.
    Im really trying to stay away from the channels made by guys who are D Class-out of shape riders, who simply are masters of parroting-(the art of repeating to others what they have heard-not a single contribution of their own) and then project themselves as professionals with fancy gear, super expensive bikes, top tier cameras, drones, and fancy editing.
    To me it just seems disingenuous and id rather my views go towards normal guys who are above average riders, that are authentic and dont try to be something they're not.

    Looks like it was a nice ride, and it should be a good sleep with the river, and people seem to be quiet. Back in the day, and probably still in places, you had drunks up yelling all night. Times have changed but we traveled and motorcycle camped with a small pop up camper in tow in the 80s and mostly boondocked, however, if we wanted water and electric, we stayed in state parks. Today we are retired and pull a 20' camper with a Ram, but still boondock some, or stay in state parks for more privacy.

    • @TheBeardedGrump
      @TheBeardedGrump  Год назад +2

      It was quiet at that campsite despite it being so crowded. I love boondocking. We did that a lot when me and my family were traveling out west in our VW bus. I need to go do more of that in my camper as well.
