Wholly agreed......I've had to watch it again over the years....I think that the first movie was so amazing, people were expecting too much....I compare it to the Hobbit....you cannot compete with LOTR. Accept the films individually for what they are.

Somewhere along the way, Keanu Reeves became a damn good actor. He fit the bill as Neo, Constantine, and finally John Wick. That's more than 99.99999998% of history's actors.
And from everything I read about him, he's a good man, as well. Kind to others. Not egotistical at all. Uses public transportation. Very down-to-earth.

The Matrix Revolutions (2003) is such a outstanding and incredible finale on so many levels as it was just absolutely and positivity constructed perfectly from the very beginning to the end. The story, performance's, music, action sequences, special effects, images, direction, and cinematography was spectacular and phenomenal. It was decent. It was such a epic, perfect, and satisfying conclusion to end the trilogy. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎💯👍

The sequels weren't 'bad' by any stretch of imagination. It's just that the first was such a perfectly balanced and iconic movie. If The first is a 100%, the second and third are 75%, which is not bad at all. I wish we had less exposition and less slow-mo fighting in the sequels.
Yesterday I watched Reloaded for the first time and man it sucked!!! It was kinda embarrassing.... I laughed so hard during the Neo flying scenes, so ridiculous!

FTR I love this franchise: however the past 2 movies? I’ve wanted to love them…
I wish they made more films about the Matrix. The fighting, story and the conspiracy theories that emerged from these movies created a new world for millions of people out there. Some of the conspiracy theories even created a new "religion", the CGI was at the time freaking impressive, the fighting in slow-mo were even more epic and the story itself captured alot of hearts.
Just sayin to you all who think this movie (and/or the first two) sucked balls,- you are a minority.

Pretty sure the majority like the first movie, but say the second two sucked.
Lots of problems with those movies, although they become more glaring after multiple viewings, just like the Star War prequels. I could watch the first movie any day of the week. They had a tight script and there isn't a shot that doesn't belong. You could tell they worked on the first script for years, perfecting it.
The other movies really felt like the directors just threw together anything they wanted and no one argued. . . and it shows. Lots of characters that I don't care about. Lots of setups without payoffs. And WAY too much time in Zion. The awesome idea is that you can enter this cool world and have all these super powers, and they spend half the time in this blue boring world. . .
Weird endings on both sequels too. Lots of really obvious CGI. And bc of the politics of the early 2000s, it lacked the gun play and violence of the original. Some really cheesy dialog also.
Not bad films in my opinion, but they hardly lived up to the original. I can only watch them once every 10 years without all of the flaws bothering me.
There will be Matrix 4 ;)

The use of Navras in the trailer alone makes it a million times better. The ability to keep the flow of the film in music and words, without detracting from the screen. Amazing.

My favorite third movies of all time of The Matrix Revolutions on 2004 final chapter of The Matrix series The Matrix, and The Matrix Reloaded another The Matrix Revolutions Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus my favorite trilogy of ever made.
I can't understand why there are people who did disliked, matrix its a journey of the hero and this third part close the trilogy even better than third part of "the godfather part 3". There are so many good parts, Zion's Battle, trynits death, Neo vs Smith.

I'm here after Matrix 4, to refresh my memory, going to watch all the trilogy after years went by. I have always thought that this movie is not just a movie, it's more like a whisperer for us to open our soul and eyes. Now I don't think it, I am sure of it. The reality we are facing IS the Matrix, especially now. Elite, medias etc are the agents. Let just hope more people will take the pill of truth instead of comfortable blue..
AMEN! My thoughts exactly. This is just too close to reality, for it not to be foretelling. Watched a documentary the other day, which showed CIA papers relating to movies, directors, producers. They've been very much involved for decades, it seems, which is why so many movies seem to come to life. So many are still blue-pilled...but more are waking up to something very nefarious going on in our country, & our world. The satanic global elites must be stopped, or we WILL end up in a world like is shown in this movie. Listening to Yuval Noah Harari, of Schwab's World Economic Forum, makes this very easy to believe. We need to be praying that they will NOT be successful.

I remember watching this movie in the theater 20 years back then..I was so stunned when coming out of the theater..All my conceptions of life and destiny were shattered...Truly a symbolic movie...Still a must watch in 2023!

Reloaded and Revolutions especially were WAY more geek than The Matrix. Lots of references to computer logic and programming logic guided the storyline, and for most people, they couldn't understand it... how are they meant to? They haven't studied it and don't work in these fields. The conversation with The Architect for example was SUPERB, and many people couldn't interpret it, it was too technical.

Probably, but difficult to compare trilogies of different genres. LOTR, Back to the future, Godfather, Star Wars & Indiana Jones gotta be up there. If they follow up with a 3rd Blade Runner then we could certainly add it into the mix too.
