Cody and Leupold, thanks for bring such a magnificent story of a Hunter that is facing a potential huge struggle. Cody, your humility and grace is something I wish many more would have. For anyone else reading this take note of Cody and don't wait. My brothers birthday was two days go. He would have been 50. He died in April this year, brain tumors. We shared awesome times together in Australia hunting deer and hogs, times around the campfire, beers, laughs and meals. I'll never have this again. He was taken way too early. To compound this loss and suffering for my family my youngest sister succumbed to pancreatic cancer this month. 47 years young. Four kids, now 2. To Cody's Dad, stay strong and the time with your son on this hunt must have been fantastic. Get out there, bury the hatchet if need be, and take you Mum, Dad, sis, or brother , best mates on a unique adventure. We don't know what is around the corner. And LEUPOLD, thank you for this story. Its the first time I've cried during a hunting video.

I'm 74 now it's been many years since I've hunted elk. I also have relatives who have MS. So I know a little of what the Austin family is going through. I'll be sure to say a prayer for them. I only bow hunted never got a nice bull like that one. Think it's great he was blessed with such a beautiful animal.

This is a great story, I wish I had been able to experience one of my hunts with my Dad the same as Cody. The film is spot on capturing all the nuances of the Back Country horse camp for elk. If it wasn't stated it was in Wyoming I would have believed it was in the same spot in Idaho I have gone a few times with great success. Congratulations Cody and don't give up!!

Great story, beautiful video and fantastic elk!!! I was recently on a guided bear hunt in Maine and one of the other hunters was heading to WY right afterward for an elk hunt. Me, having just retired I asked him if he wasn't a bit shy about spending the money for a second guided hunt so soon. He answered me saying that "...we don't know how long we're gonna be here, so why wait..." I took his advice thinking (like Cody), and booked a Colorado elk hunt when I returned home. Fingers crossed. Congrats Cody!!

I feel you Cody, after surviving kidney cancer and a gunshot wound (39 years as a cop) my son and I went on a life time hunt to Maine. The hunt was great, but the time with my son in the woods was priceless! And, since I started hunting with my Dad back in 1968 Leupold has always been my only scope. Great film, I like seeing people with humility and class be able to take an animal and show true gratitude for it also. Way to take the things that are thrown at you in this life and go forward boldly. It is inspiring!

Great story, beautiful video and fantastic elk!!! I was recently on a guided bear hunt in Maine and one of the other hunters was heading to WY right afterward for an elk hunt. Me, having just retired I asked him if he wasn't a bit shy about spending the money for a second guided hunt so soon. He answered me saying that "...we don't know how long we're gonna be here, so why wait..." I took his advice thinking (like Cody), and booked a Colorado elk hunt when I returned home. Fingers crossed. Congrats Cody!!
Awesome elk, and hunt Cody! We take to many things for granted that they'll always be there; whether it is health, friends or family, abilities, etc. Time marches on and we aren't guaranteed tomorrow. As I tell my daughter, the trophy is the opportunity. Congratulations again Cody on a fantastic bull, hunting with your dad, and to all who helped make this hunt happen and documenting it.

This is a tearjerker and heartwarming story of life and turning a negative which in Cody’s case being diagnosed with ms into something positive and a new or different outlook on life. It looks like Cody picked the right outfitter and bringing his dad along made a most memorable hunt. Congratulations on such a beautiful bull and I hope to hear of more hunts to come. I feel you Cody, after surviving kidney cancer and a gunshot wound (39 years as a cop) my son and I went on a life time hunt to Maine. The hunt was great, but the time with my son in the woods was priceless! And, since I started hunting with my Dad back in 1968 Leupold has always been my only scope. Great video, and God bless you Cody!
