I think I was the guy that brought all of this to light. Especially the wireless system circuit. It’d be interesting to know how this section of the pedal was made since it took me years of reverse engineering (and a contract with the inventor, Ken Schaffer) to pull it off.
YUP ... still remember the Schaffer wireless without the RF boxes of SoloDallas The effect on the tone is subtle but it helps a lot to recreate the original AC/DC tone. The retro version does look cool but it is expensive so this might be for the AC/DC addict and collector
Quindi grande Fil e basta ✌️
Man that Hendrix tone was awesome! I’d love to hear a fuzz face running into that…. Crazy Tube stuff is great - I think this might be worth every penny!
I will have one of those please, I don't even think they've hit our shores in Australia yet either, its down under for good reason, but, great review too, Thanks.
I like it! Having had a 2204 JCM 800 (50 watt) for quite a few years, I wouldn't say that it nails the sound. But, it does sound really good and gets you into the ballpark. As a stand alone overdrive/distortion pedal, I think it's something I want to add to my pedalboard. Nice!
Im 60 year old guitar player. My brother and i always talked about Angus amp sound. I told him there's no way he getting that sound just plugged strait into a plexi. There had to be something pushing it a bit to get them sizzle tones from his amps. Because i never got that sound just plugging into my plexis. Well guess i was right. When we found out years back that Angus used a preamp line buffer. Guitar to buffer to amp input. In the now exposed articles he said it would add drive to his amps. See, i know my shit! My ears dont lie!
Hey Andy would be really good to have a diagram of how you've hooked up the pedals including amp settings when you are doing these demos .... Leo doing what you're doing!!
No Footswitch for Amp Modes? 🤔 Great video. I prefer the «Heatseeker» to the Friedman IR models I've heard. However, it baffles me that the three amp modes are NOT footswitchable. So it's hardly suitable for live use ... Unless you want to stick to one sound only, and use your guitar volume knob for variations. Could I add an external footswitch to access the «Heatseeker»'s different amp modes? Thank you. Kind regards
@TheGuitarGeek It's weird: Crazy Tube Circuits had added an input jack for external footswitching on their «Unobtainium» pedals. So you could remote select the different voicings. But they wouldn't add the same feature on the new «Heatseeker» ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Missed opportunity, really. At least there ought to be a way to cycle through the preamp modes. For instance by holding one of the footswitches (or pressing both of them simultaneously). Nonetheless, it's still a great sounding «Marshall in a box», and I may get one for the (red) aesthetics alone. 🙂
I dig it, just sitting here in Germany waiting for all my guitars to make it across the pond.....may have to just take a trip to Thomann this weekend and make some poor decisions.😅
It dates back to Gibson's "Authentic" video which wasn't well received back then (Gibson removed it from their channel but others reuploaded it). As a sign of protest, many guitar players on RUclips put a piece of tape on the Gibson logo of their guitars (because Gibson's video mentionned "removing the tape on the headstock's logo" talking about the movie industry) I suppose it stayed there.
I'm not sure i quite understand pedals like this one. I mean, i get the idea; get the sounds of a particular amp without actually having that amp. But, won't the end result still be colored by the amp you run this into?
I sounds very very good ,like something you could build your whole sound around,Like use that and put delay and rev. after then just flick the switch for less gain ,Yep I could use it.
I would have bought it 3-4 years ago. Nowadays I have no use for it. Got my rig sorted with the Marshall tones I need. I do, nonetheless think it's a great piece of kit (that I would have bought). Great work as usual Andy. Staying to the end is always a pleasure, not an effort. Big love from Spain (where we write AND pronounce my surname properly) ❤
Not OK with the stupid naming: military jargon, heat seeker == seek and destroy your tube amp It does sound very good indeed and the pricing - being a preamp with options - is OK to good You did some beautiful sudo Hendrix tones with this box ... cudos
Awesome pedal and video but, alas another pedal I can't afford.☹️🎸🤘🏻

Don’t really love it. Been chasing tone over the years and everything has kind of melted together. Let just make the best amp, best guitar and best pedal and be done with it. Love the channel and this guy seems really cool.
Andy!! I love ya, brother! It'd be cool to hang around with you, have a couple pints, and jam our asses off! Well, to be fair, I don't have an ass. It's flat. 🍻🤘😝🤘❤️🎸❤️
This dudes either getting paid ridiculous money for this or, he’s the most easily impressed person on earth. Thing mostly sounded like shit. I heard one tone that sounded pretty good, the rest sounds extremely basic, boring and there are 6 trillion other things that sound at least 10x better. WTF am I missing? Is this dude trolling us? Of course tbf, I don’t like his style of playing or have I really ever agreed with his opinions on anything. Also, I don’t understand the whole JCM800 thing. They all sound like shit. Never once heard one on its own sound good. Had to add a lot of stuff to it. They’re like coffee. It tastes like shit so millions of ppl have to add stuff to it, to even drink it. I don’t get it.

Maybe you guys could answer my emails and we can find out!
Its a design by famous pedal builder Ethan Oliver Ralph
Srguitars DE did a comparison with your storm pedal in his review (in German)

Ive been waiting for a pedal like this..the sounds are amazing especially the ACDC tone. Definitely buying one1
Great and very helpful review! Now on my list to buy.

Truly! I’m going to have this as an always on pedal
Love your work Andy by blue tapping over the G[insert expensive guitar brand here] logo on your guitar in this one 😂😂
Excellent vid Andy. Cheers!
You’re welcome!
Great video Andy!
Thanks!
I’m sold on it. It really seems to solve the Marshall tone out of a super clean amp question well.

Cool pedal. I'm adding this to my GAS list for sure. Also, I see you're playing Authentic.
Your face popped up in my linkedin feed and I came here.
Good to see you're still going at it! You're doing great!
Liebe Grüße 🫂

That is one sweet pedal. Too bad it's so expensive.

Good idea!
Looked like you enjoyed that pedal!
Subtlety in tone shaping is underrated for guitar effects pedals, particularly anything which can function as an amp modeller.

@TheGuitarGeek I now live 2 hours from Thomann...I am so screwed. 😂
Love the masking tape: "Who was that masked guitar? He's gone ...and we never knew his name.
Epiphone….🤔
Hahaha yes!!!
@@seancook2264 I assumed Vintage brand.
I can see Enhancer as always on. A little sweetener.
Who needs Marshall tones anyway😊
What's with the blue tape?
Maybe a chibson?

What's up with the blue masking tape on the headstock of the SG?
Might be the Chibson logo? Afraid of lawsuit?
Have you tried it straight into a power amp? That's a big thing for me with 'amp in a box' style things now

Very versatile indeed! Fun ideo Andy! Cheers!!!
Hey V! Yeah!
What's the deal with the tape on the SG?
Probably not intending to promote any particular brand of guitar that doesn't provide a sponsorship. This is typical in music videos by bands as well.
@@MatthewTomich But he left the Gibson logo visible on the LP Special
@El-Scorcho Maybe the one with the tape isn't a real Gibson!
@@MatthewTomich the LP is also not a real Gibson
Great job 👏 👍 Andy
Cheers Mark!
Apologies I'm sure someone already answered it, but what's up with covering the brand on the SG? Is it not Gibson?
hope the enhancer isn't solodallas circuit or someone's going to get a lawyer calling
Circuits can't be copyrighted

why is this "live" .. thats so wierd

Where?
to much gain for acdc
