I am currently doing EMDR therapy although it’s not for everyone a therapist who is experienced will find the therapy that’s right for you but if one therapist won’t work for you seek a different one til you find the right one for you .

Project AcuHope your exactly right. This happened to me when I was 14. I did not know my neighbor was into young girls preferably 12-13 and I had a crush on him he looked 22 very young. Anyways I got his number one day and we fell in love. We had sex and it was consensual at the time. My parents later found out and hired a detective and he was arrested. He will always be a big part of my life. That was a big part of my childhood and most of us know that childhood experiences shape human beings. I was still in love with him and even though my parents put a restraining order on him I still saw him. Slowly but surely, he tried to make me turn against my family. I will forever have flashbacks of my mom and my whole family trying to contact me or know where I was or who I was with and very concerned but my mom especially. He eventually got me hooked on oxycodone and then eventually it turned into heroin. I was a heroin addict and moved out the house by the tender age of 17. I was so in love with him that when he asked me to write a letter to the judge saying how i loved him and were going to get married and to not get in trouble, i actually did it. He got 5 years probation 10 years suspended. He is now a registered sex offender and has violated his probation and is now in jail. I just turned 20 in December. Looking back, I wish he was never my neighbor. My life would be so different. I would have had a car for a couple years now instead of just getting my first car a month ago! I would have just been finishing up my junior year of college. I would actually have friends. I have no friends. I wasted the last four to five years of my life with this grown man. Your teens are supposed to be the best part of your life, no bills, hardly any responsibilities. I wanted to give him a chance, I was so in love with him, I waited for him to get a job and was going to until he did but he never did. I feel as if my soul had been taken away from me. Like the life has been sucked out of me. And the worst part is I grew up in a really nice town with a close family and had the perfect foundation and tools and opportunities for success. Everyday I think about it. I will never forget it. I will always regret talking to him and he will probably always regret talking to me. It has been exactly one year since I moved back in with my family. I never thought anything like this would ever happen to me and I did not know about anything like that before it happened. I had just gone through puberty and he had just found the perfect time for him to snatch me. It was fun in the beginning at the time, but, looking back now, I don't think I will ever recover from this.

There have now been too many conversations, too many movies made, too many documentaries, too many people coming forward... I remember reading not long ago, that children who experienced sexual abuse have to come forward on average 7 times, before they were being believed. Talking about it is changing that, because it creates awareness.

Very sad in England a few years back a female nursery manager had abused half of the 40 kids at her nursery. The parents were all called in and they had to identify from images which kids had and hadn't been abused, she'd used objects to insert in genitalia and given oral sex to these children. It was heartbreaking and close to were I lived aswell 💜 I wish I could do something more then write this comment it really is heartbreaking to know this happens and is happening right now.

I do dislike "emotional" as the description of her in this speech. Powerful or adamant or intelligent. She is emotional but she is coming from a place of care, and I feel like emotional gives this speech less worth than it deserves. I know...it took me days to cope with what I heard here. I knew people were doing sick things but this is just beyond tragic. Pure evil. There are actually no words. What has helped me a little bit is the fact that there ARE good people going after those bastards; there are organizations that work around the clock to find those children and to lock up the abusers. We need to support those organizations financially and by spreading the word about their work. Those childre deserve their story to be told even though it literally breaks people once they find out what is going on (most people have no idea that is why it is so shocking once they find out). Project AcuHope your exactly right. This happened to me when I was 14. I did not know my neighbor was into young girls preferably 12-13 and I had a crush on him he looked 22 very young. Anyways I got his number one day and we fell in love. We had sex and it was consensual at the time. My parents later found out and hired a detective and he was arrested. He will always be a big part of my life. That was a big part of my childhood and most of us know that childhood experiences shape human beings. I was still in love with him and even though my parents put a restraining order on him I still saw him. Slowly but surely, he tried to make me turn against my family. I will forever have flashbacks of my mom and my whole family trying to contact me or know where I was or who I was with and very concerned but my mom especially. He eventually got me hooked on oxycodone and then eventually it turned into heroin. I was a heroin addict and moved out the house by the tender age of 17. I was so in love with him that when he asked me to write a letter to the judge saying how i loved him and were going to get married and to not get in trouble, i actually did it. He got 5 years probation 10 years suspended. He is now a registered sex offender and has violated his probation and is now in jail. I just turned 20 in December. Looking back, I wish he was never my neighbor. My life would be so different. I would have had a car for a couple years now instead of just getting my first car a month ago! I would have just been finishing up my junior year of college. I would actually have friends. I have no friends. I wasted the last four to five years of my life with this grown man. Your teens are supposed to be the best part of your life, no bills, hardly any responsibilities. I wanted to give him a chance, I was so in love with him, I waited for him to get a job and was going to until he did but he never did. I feel as if my soul had been taken away from me. Like the life has been sucked out of me. And the worst part is I grew up in a really nice town with a close family and had the perfect foundation and tools and opportunities for success. Everyday I think about it. I will never forget it. I will always regret talking to him and he will probably always regret talking to me. It has been exactly one year since I moved back in with my family. I never thought anything like this would ever happen to me and I did not know about anything like that before it happened. I had just gone through puberty and he had just found the perfect time for him to snatch me. It was fun in the beginning at the time, but, looking back now, I don't think I will ever recover from this.

@@TheeOriginalLolo There is absolutely NO excuse for child abuse. It's much more important to have an open dialogue about the underlying causes of child abuse in order to come up with a solution. Demonizing it may help the cause in the short term but ultimately causes more shame and more reason for it to be driven underground and continue. Sick people need help

@@newyorklights7339 you're right in some sense, but talking about it is in a way doing something about it, because it creates a shared consciousness, where people can no longer hide in their bubbles. There have now been too many conversations, too many movies made, too many documentaries, too many people coming forward... I remember reading not long ago, that children who experienced sexual abuse have to come forward on average 7 times, before they were being believed. Talking about it is changing that, because it creates awareness.
I have so much respect for Blake for giving such an honest and difficult speach. Its so rare for a celebrity to give such an honest, informed, and heartfelt appeal, with very real and disturbing details, and to exhibit such a comprehensive understanding of what is going on.

Very sad in England a few years back a female nursery manager had abused half of the 40 kids at her nursery. The parents were all called in and they had to identify from images which kids had and hadn't been abused, she'd used objects to insert in genitalia and given oral sex to these children. It was heartbreaking and close to were I lived aswell 💜

watching this for the second time after a few years and now that i’m older i understand it so much more. blake lively is such an angel and it’s so sad that as she was nervously speaking, there were people in the crowd probably fitting the description she was making. i hope the best for her and i hope people realize this is a bigger issue than the media makes it out to be.
I do dislike "emotional" as the description of her in this speech. Powerful or adamant or intelligent. She is emotional but she is coming from a place of care, and I feel like emotional gives this speech less worth than it deserves. It is factual and informative and interesting and she isn't torn up, she is motivated and ready to take on the problem at hand.

this made me cry. As someone who was molested at the age of 7 by my own mosque teacher it cuts deep. I wish no child has their innocent taken away and is abused like this. I have little siblings too and the thought of them being tortured like that haunts me. I pray for this world.
My cousin used to molest me when i was 5 and he was older. He apologized when i became older but i avoid him. His mother also runs a kindergarten so i wonder who else could have been a victim.
