For the personality test it comes down to which is the better sounding option. They're probably also looking to see if you're dumb or not and will pick something stupid. Just always make yourself look like the better person

I was local so I drove there for an hour and did everything super quickly getting ready for the asvab. Went straight to the MEPs building and was done by the early evening give or take
Man, am I an old dog! I'm an Air Force vet. When I went through MEPS, we didn't even have email. I signed my delayed entry on Jan 2nd, 1991 right before Desert Storm began. I served from Aug '91 to May '96 and later on active duty with the Air Guard from '03 to '04.

Thank you so much for all the useful information! I took my ASVAB at a MET site and it removed a good portion of stress from the equation which helped me score very well! MEPS personality test and medical evaluation are what's next for me! Best of luck and I hope you get that medical job you so want! =D
Wow I went through Meps in Dallas, tx and our physical and testing was a single day thing. I had the option to split my testing and physical and it was a blessing. But for those doing it all at once , we stayed at a hotel and woke up the next day at 0345 then left to Meps at about 0500 and started our physical then those taking the asvab left medical at 1100 and were gone for 3 hours but I swore in at about 1430 and then went home but those who took their test didn't get to go home until about 1800 and Dallas traffic when everyone gets off work is garbage.
In the grand scheme of things, your AFQT for the most part, means nothing aside from bragging rights. My MAGE scores are: M93, A76, G81, E85, and my AFQT is a 79. That puts us both in CAT-II. Congrats none the less. A lot of people feel like the AFQT is the defining score, and it can be to a point if you don't meet the minimum. With that said you can bomb General and Admin, and ace mechanical and Electrical, and still get amazing jobs. My old scores were M78, A45, G59, E76, and an AFQT of 51. With that I still qualified for everything I had set out to achieve.
I was so disappointed to have a low score on the ASVAB but my recruiter said I can retake it but he wouldn’t recommend it because it would be harder. Not sure if I want to retake it because of the low score or just leave it as is 🤔
Yep. I did 2 meps trips weeks apart. I think it was because I was 5 hours away from my meps station but my first day we stayed at a hotel then did the 12 hour day of stuff and things is basically how I'd describe it. Went back home and a few weeks later I went back to meps for about 3 hours to get all my paperwork, plane tickets, the 1 blank check they give you for a meal while flying (I'm not sure if the check is a required item they give everyone, but I had to fly for about 8 hours with 3 layovers) so I used my check at a McDonald's at my very last layover to hold me over. And that was good because I remember I got to Lackland at about midnight and we got the "box nasty" meal, a sandwich with 1 slice of ham, water, and for me personally we were all told to throw away the sweets. I went to bed around 2-3am that day then we got up at 5:45am for morning chow. Biggest advice I can give is definitely get a good meal in on the way to Lackland especially if you get one of those blank checks for a meal on the way.. I joined in January of 2015 and still remember the Kyle Gott videos I watched to prepare
Went to meps in Nashville about a week ago. They have discontinued underwear Olympics. We all did individual physicals which made the process 50 times slower. Bring a jacket so you don’t get cold while waiting!

the personality test is a psychological screen which is why the format is so strange. Helps to raise any red flags before someone with issues gets to boot camp.
i scored a 97 on my picat and when i went to go take my vtest i scored a 93. They told me anything above a 70 would've been sufficient to not take the whole asvab.
I didn't have to do an asvab and all of the paperwork was easy breezy because I didn't have much to fill out at 18 and a couple weeks out of high school. I did have to get up at 3:40 and leave the hotel at 4:00 to get to MEPS by 5:00. Met a lot of nice dudes

The ASVAB is freaking hard for foreigners like me, especially the WK and PC. So they want to send me to the Army Language School to learn more English…😂😂
Pretty sure they do check your teeth. It's been a while but in bootcamp they definitely will during your first couple weeks. If you have any dental problems they'll take care of it for you.
I have a question....the closed accounts on your credit report that have balances do you or Kyle know whether or not they will want you to be making payments on those in order to get in? I know the open accounts should be addressed and either be paid off or you are making payments on them, but what about the closed ones?
I have no clue, unfortunately. All the ones I had, that has the overdue payment on my record had been paid off, so I'm not sure how it would be. You would just go to a recruiter and mention that and they will tell you what the next steps would be!

So I am a first generation Greek-American. I moved to Greece at the age of 10, so my education was screwed due to the language. I was a farmer. At the age of 39 I am going to take the ASVAB. I dont really care about jobs but I am a hard worker and a team player. Any tips?
I have to take the DLAB!! Linguist is not on my list, but my recruiter needed to schedule someone to take it and I was the only one qualified. We'll see how this goes!
I don't know how many there usually are...but I went on Thursday/Friday I would say there were maybe 40 of us Tuesday will always be the busiest because that is shipping days for people going to bmt

I leave tomorrow I scored a 81 on the Practice PICAT and my lowest line score was like 117 without studying but I feel like I’ll overthink and get lower on the verification test
I got a 78 on the PICAT and I was supposed to take the verification test but I was selected to actually take the asvab and hit a 69 on that. That sucked. I am still eligible for the jobs I want tho so that’s great

Dude probably had to retake after his picat BECAUSE of the high score. Not sure how the military does it, but i had plenty of instances in high school where a teacher questioned me over doing "too well" on their tests
possibly. you take a verification test, but some people who take the verification end up having to retake it all over again. Hopefully that is not he case for you!!
@@maddiemiller6078 Hey! I don't know what score you need to not have to retake it. I think you might have to get a certain score, but I also think some people get randomly selected. There was a guy that got a 95 on his PiCAT, then got a 95 on his verification test and STILL had to retake it and got a 95! Best of luck though!!

They are trying to find out accurately your traits. Its hard for people to fudge the answers when the same questions are asked in multiple different ways. They want TEAM players as in there is no "I" in TEAM.

I went to meps in december 2020, super easy with covid. Your answers should only be Yes/No - Sir/Ma’am. Easy as that.

I took the practice test fro the army and got a 23 then took the PICAT and got a 28?! *INTENCEE CRYYY* and now weeks later Im going to MEPS on Thursday~ my recruiter says that I might score a bit better Bec there's more questions but I honestly feel like theres no hope for me~! anyone els hoping for a miracle?? FOIL, Area, Perimeter, And Volume of shapes.
absolute values, primes, factors, multiples, scientific notation, radicals, factorials, order of operations, ratios, proportions, rates, averages, mean, medians, and modes.
Sequences and probability.
@@Shojull I am not going over all of that. I will be sharing more of study tips, but then WHAT you need to study will come down to the individual. I won't teach things listed in your comment because there is so much info out there in ASVAB book and online to teach you those things!
