You can grow spinach, chard, lettuce, coriander, sunflower and broccoli etc sprouts in window container in metal baking trays and compost... Give it a try. It's healthy and enjoyable
Netherlands is a large exporter due to factory farming and industrial greenhouses etc. Hardly a route anyone wants to copy. These 2 are hobby farmers who probably went to Ireland with a few quid in their pockets. At that time I had family milking dairy cows with 3 adults and 5 kids to keep on 40 or so acres of hilly land in the west of Ireland. That was real life at the time.
The last time I bought anything was a box of matches and that way back in 1984, all the people in my village, we produce all our own food and drinks of the best kind, we make all our own clothing, boots shoes, we drive out electric cars and 4x4s trucks and tractors, when we step out in town many of the young fashionable people come up to us asking where can we buy your fashion, they try to buy the clothing that we are wearing,. We have no call to buy anything so we are filthy rich but money and fame is nothing to us, people say to us you are living the good life, to us it is just normal life, we work each day and do our best to take care of mother earth.
There used to be a saying my dad would tell me if the Dutch had Ireland they'd feed the world if the Irish had Holland they'd drown 😂 and no I'm not Dutch

If we had holland we'd have taken London instead of England taking the north 🤣
A popular news report.
The man appeared to be quite arrogant. I can see why he might have had trouble selling his endive and other foodstuffs.
I get that a bit. But otoh in 1984 I was officially adult and barely knew what garlic was, never mind endive
