Used to love picking up flyers going round my mates planning to go rave and then hearing the pirate radio ads, heading down to my local record shop buying rave tickets, getting a fresh pair of Reebok Classics or Ellesse trainers. Big up all the old school ravers. Pirate radio for me was the heartbeat of the scene without it, it just simply wouldn't have happened.

The level of respect people showed each other back then was phenomenal. You had your scuffs and bits of trouble, but the emphasis was on the music. People loved it and they followed it religiously.
Being at a live set with a DJ who could take you on a journey and having an MC who knew the set list and could read the vibe in the room could take it to a higher level

I was there from the off, when rave took off and would never have met the djs n promoters i still link. Keith suckling, dj Air, mc bassman, long john, mc lenny, majeka, rat pack, dj wrapp, bass line Smith, ruff cut loyyd, Mad p n top buzz, mickey finn, slip matt, Kenny Ken, man parris, pied piper, just a few djs n mcs I was proud to share the experience with.

Those flyer designs were epic!! Look after them. If you scan some and send us them we can upload them on community post and on Facebook. They have to get shared. Our designer used to design some of those flyers back then.
