I just subscribed to Apple TV a few days ago & this is one of the films you recommended to me (on another post), thank you so much. I loved it, mainly because of Goodyear, 4 couches is fair. I have a dog, Cammie, and she is my constant companion & will turn 13 in March. When we go on a road trip, the first thing I pack, is a good long book.
@@larrysmac the same one? Yeah. Why would I change it? The movie is boring. If you like it that's great. And if you post you like it on every video then good for you. Why can't I post my opinion? Does my opinion offend you? Snowflake.
People who didn't enjoy this film are 1 of 3 things or all. Someone that's never shared a deep bond with a dog during the worse years of your life, where the presence of the dog made things tolerable. You have no idea what makes a great movie(soundtrack, cinematography, etc). Or you're one of these people that need a sequel to everything because you're ungrateful and don't know how to enjoy something and be happy you got it to begin with. Yul are trash. If pure entertainment is why you watch movies then you're missing the entire point of a real movie and are looking for escapism and not an experience. In my opinion, on of Tom Hanks best performances. Built a whole ass AI just to take care of his dog after he passes. The sheer amount of distance I'd go to make sure my dog was taken care of after I passes would rival this. 10 outta 10. Didn't beat ya over the head with anything. Aimple explanation of the apocalypse. The shots were amazing. The dread when they were in denver(rip robot). The constant loss of hope with the happiness of getting west and the green and life wasn't all lost. Tom Hanks in a gorgeous suit just chilling with his friend and his dog before passing. Plus the acting from both actors.
Need it stated how obviously and directly influenced by 'Silent Running' this film is? (the smaller robot even named "Dewey"). That said, it's not quite so tragic and lonely as that ending. Finch is sad but endearing to the last, and offers a ray of hope and love...
A Boy and his Dog with a robot instead of a dog to talk with.Sounds good.Road trip:Never forget a Victorinox multi-tool (i like the Farmer) knife, scissors, wood saw,can and bottle opener, screwdriver and reamer.
It was enjoyable but there were some weird choices, like what was the point of that car chase, it was kind of lazy. The stories, including how Finch got Goodyear were the best parts. And once Hanks put on the suit at the end, he started overacting, not sure why. I sorta hated Brian and Charles, and some scenes reminded me of that.
I just watched it. I was left with questions that are too many to post here. All this movie was about was a guy who made a robot to look adter his dog. That's it. Everything else was filler with no context. 4 out of 10.
RIP Dewey... man that robot didnt deserve that kind of death, was really traumatized of how innocent a robot can just get killed yet i feel so depressed about it like CMON MAN :( all because of Jeffs mistakes.. ik he was still learning but still i was so sad for Dewey :,(
The plot is good, characters decent but that ending was so open that is there a part 2? The way it ended felt like it cut off too soon. I think it was overall a mediocre movie like a 6-6.5/10
The last two films the Good Sheperd and News of the World were not massively good. However much better than some other films. But no matter what still like watching his films as a whole. Just rewatched two films he did not everyone talks about but I loved the films namely Joe Versus the Volcano and recently Turner and Hooch still one of my favorites considering it made me cry when I was young and when I rewatched it still had me in tears in the close to the end scenes. For this one am gonna still try to watch it and try it.
@@bryedtan Yeah good problems for Hanks. In the 2010s he made some real amazing stuff. Esp. his performance in CAPTAIN PHILLIPS. When he makes 7/10's, they feel like a letdown, but for any one else, they would be very good.
Tom treated the robot like a dumb machine thru out the movie. The movie never show the robot did anything for Tom to change his view on the robot. This is actually a bad movie.
Thought it was kind of dull. I could feel the movie trying to stay in that safe place. That kind of took me out of it. Also nothing really stood out for me.
@@beautyan5309 Remember in Cast Away when Tom spots the body of a flight crew member floating in his island's little bay? When he gets to-it, he emotionally erupts like a volcano. He blubbered and sobbed like a 2 year old...that's my Tom.
This movie can't decide if it wants to be The Martian, Short Circuit, The Road or all of the above. Bland, empty, unmotivated. Tom is 65 and acts like he's about to kick the bucket even though nothing stopped him from living a whole decade in what's essentially is a microwave oven. Suits don't stop gamma, so he's kinda very slowly dying from radiation, but not really. Conveniently he gets bed ridden(as one with his condition would be) only when the shallow plot needs him to do so. Then he's ok again and is driving, joking, playing fetch n shit. His dog is 5-ish and has maybe few more years to live. What is the robot for? Being a comedic relief or a gravedigger?
This is such a good movie I loved it from beginning to end
I wish it was a shoe I just wanted more
Tom hank is really good with this kind of roll.
This movie has so much heart and the final scene just makes me cry
Jeff was so funny and loving! Made me happy and sad, this is a great movie
Only Tom Hanks could pull this off playing opposite robots and a dog.
Been waiting for a finch review, thanks for this!!
It's, combination of Chappie, the Road, Wall-E and Cast away.

Wait.. George Lucas does movie reviews? Hell yeah keep it going George .

Envision was Sux , BUT cant wait for Servant season 3

I always take Scarlett Johansson with me whenever I go on a road trip. Oh, and a great review Chris!
Love the review! Finch is a pretty chill movie.
Chappie meets short circuit meets castaway meets wall eeeeeee... 😁
I cried a lot for the robot's feelings what a beautiful movie
Me to man the end was soooo sad ❤
Man, this movie was so emotional to me that I prefer it over Luca
Not an Apple Original. Made for universal, intended for theaters. Originally titled ‘bios’
Really? Who gives a flying f**k?

Dog breed name ?
I loved it. What a beautiful story about trust, love and continuity.
the Trailer & Robot looks sooo 80s
Briliant movie..The Robot really won me over. It goes to show humanity has got nothing to do with humans!
Oh yes it does it was a human who created to robot to act human

Shame Hanks's last two films have been lackluster. Maybe he should work with more established directors, like Ron Howard and Clint Eastwood again.
This movie is amazing bro

Very cool movie and journey, it’s simple but compelling as you’ve said.
8/10 in my opinion, in its subject and style it’s top

It's incredible. Incredibly terrible
Lmao this is on my top for worst movies I have seen in my life
Boring...I just couldn’t get into it.
Tom "over the top" Hanks and his demonstrative heavy-handed acting style made me throw up in my mouth😝
Next time, do us a favor and swallow instead of regurgitating it here.
You sound like a happy camper

Movie is complete junk. It’s no wonder Tom hanks is in hiding in a none extradition country.
