@@Watcher1134 why is there so many of them😭
@@Watcher1134 I think that with Tha original show and NG is enougth or just the movies. All is a lot
All I can say about this show is that it’s getting more and more funny and really addictive 😉
I agree. I used to find it pretty boring and not funny at all at the beginning but, unlike many others apparently,I grew to like it more and more with the progress of the seasons.Even now rewatching the earlier episodes I think they're not as funny and/or memorable as more recent ones.
@@Nicamon exactly, same for me... I’m not really fan of the two first seasons, but after, with the evolution of the characters and the new characters, it became addictive to me.
@@isabelledrevet5913 Exactly.
The writing is obviously so good, but props to Jim Parsons for crafting the character of Sheldon. He's admitted to not being a fan of any of the sci-fi or comic book culture Sheldon has encyclopedic knowledge of. As well as having no clue what he's talking about when it comes to the "real" science stuff. But yet, we believe every word he says.
As a fashion stylist, I've always loved the costume design on this show. Each character's signature look is so specific and well executed.
Yes Howard’s fashion is amazing
"Hello, Hello Kitty" is one of my favorite line deliveries from Jim Parsons. Which is saying a lot.
The Original and The Next Generation of Star Trek are awesome. I recommend both!
Maybe start with Enterprise as time line its the first
@@Glennrick68or watch orville it’s awesome
@@Glennrick68 I know what you mean but there's a lot of lore baggage with that show, so starting with TOS and/or TNG is best, imho.
The first season of TNG is tough... but it does get better the next season. And I agree start with TOS.
Growing up as an 80s 90s baby, TNG was my childhood. I never really got into DS9, I LOVED Voyager. Enterprise IS good. I honestly never really watched the original series.
Make sure to watch the 1960's version of The Time Machine if you ever do. It's by H.G. Wells, same guy who wrote War of the Worlds.
When Leonard tries the time machine; whats happening is they're actually acting backwards as if someone had pressed rewind on a video.
I don't know if that was the original prop, but from my watching of the original Time Machine movie (several times, it used to be on tv a lot) it looks just like it. Good movie, btw.
I like Howard so much, his character growth is one of the best I have ever seen in a TV show.
Star Trek Voyager is my favorite with Captain Catherine Janeway. 7 of 9 is one of the best characters.
Yes react to the OG star trek first! Also the 2009 movies are really good
Correction the 2009 movie is good all the other sequels are garbage
Yes! 100% you should react to Star Trek! The Original Series of course. Granted, that's a lot of episodes, so you can do a selection, most reactors do. Just be warned, once you start, you'll get a tide of requests that you do the movies, and all the other shows.
Keep watching the office Nick, you're in for a ride
I think Quynh and I will eventually react to the Office but probably later :)
There's a reaction channel called Target Audience where they are watching every tv episode and every movie of Star Trek in release order. It's taking them a couple of years, but it's definitely worth it. On another channel, Roly Poly Ollie, he watched suggested "best" episodes of The Original Series and The Next Generation, and is now watching all of Deep Space Nine. If you're willing to make the commitment, watching all 79 episodes of TOS would be quite enjoyable and would gain you lots of new viewers.
How many of us travel in the same circles? All of us! 🖖
1:29 Raj is actually wrong about Star Trek. Plenty of Trekkies will remember this line directed toward Kirk. "That was not his knee".
Yeah, but that was one out of how many?
Yes, I immediately thought of that line!
There’s also an entire episode of TNG where they explain why so many species has the same basic body design. (And a season of Discovery too.)
😭 yes please react to TOS Star Trek
You should definitely react to Star Trek! And the order is what you said: The Original Series first, then The Next Generation.
Star Trek?
Begin at the beginning, of course.
Thanks for these great reactions! The original Time Machine with Rod Taylor is a classic and I would love for you to react to it!
The creatures were pretty spot on for the 1960 The Time Machine..with Rod Taylor…
You should watch the original THE TIME MACHINE (1960) starring Rod Taylor who also starred in Alfred Hitchcock's THE BIRDS (1963). I also recommend TIME AFTER TIME (1979) where H.G. Wells pursues Jack the Ripper through time! 😊
I have watched almost every comedy tV show from the late 60s to the common era. Happy days , Mork and Mindy, three's company, etcetera etc. that 70s show,... But this one, The Big bang theory was heads or tails above the rest. Laugh my butt off for over a decade. This is going to be another journey down memory lane that's going to be fun and nostalgic. I guess I owe you another thanks. Guaranteed to make you smile.enjoy the rest of the best.🎉😂
I think you should watch Ted Lasso. I'm sure I'm the 40 millionth person to suggest this because you are a young Ted Lasso in your soul (minus the Midwest humor)
O wow im super early today , im excited to see your reaction to the end of the season , hope you are having a wonderful week Nick.
Thank you and you too!
People have probably mentioned this before but just in case... One thing to keep in mind is that if you were of University age when Friends started you were part of the target demo for both Friends and TBBT. In other words you understood the cultural reference for both shows and when watching TBBT, Friends was part of part of your 'cultural heritage' already,
Friends ( 1994-2004)
TBBT ( 2007-2019)
If you do start watching the Star Trek series especially the original one, and after you have a good comprehension of how they work then you are in the perfect position to react to Galaxy Quest.
Well done Nick👍🏽enjoying your journey with Big Bang, such a great ride. You react to whatever you want to, as a reactor myself I can honestly say i just watch for you, a genuinely good bloke👍🏽go for whatever you fancy I’ll watch🙌🏽
20:50 Damn I've gone through that once. It is scary as hell. You wake up confused, also thinking is it gonna transition into another dream or is this real😵💫
This Trekkie says YES to you reacting to Star Trek! I say start with the OG series, followed by the Next Generation and then the movies in release order. Oh yeah, don't forget Galaxy Quest!
Oh yeah original time machine is awesome
totally react to the old original Star Trek
it's not supposed to be a comedy but it is
Fizzbin.
I feel like you would LOVE Brooklyn Nine-Nine !! It's one of my favorite shows, maybe you could consider reacting to it in the future🥰
Great show 👍
Would love to see you react to Star Trek! I recommend starting with the original series, and if it’s too much of a commitment- though I’d love to see you react to it all- you could just watch some key/classic episodes: city on the edge of forever, trouble with tribbles, space seed, amok time, etc. us fans will comment with our fave eps if you ask! (Mine is the devil in the dark.)
The show is very episodic, so once you’ve watched some key eps, you will have a feel for the characters and can go to the movies with a solid enough understanding and a good base! …then you can do TNG next if you’re into trek and wanna keep it going!
I started watch Star Trek because of this series.
I had already seen the newest ones but googled the order to watch and then started from the beginning.
They are so fun!
The I guess this show is good for
Something other than cheap laughs at the expense of geek culture. What I hate about TBBT and why I ultimately stopped watching is it laughs and mocks geeks unlike other shows like Community which laughs with the
Instead of at them
You should check the series Warehouse 13. It's a comical/'buddy cop'/nerdy, scifi show that's very entertaining. .. Also hope you get back to Buffy soon, still waiting for 'THE' episode on RUclips, as well all the rest of them after that!
YES!
🌸 regarding the competition you have to understand ,and you will as the time and seasons go along, Sheldon doesn't know how to compromise...
Great reaction thanks so much!
you know what would have helped moving that Time Machine up the stairs? PIVOT!
Yeah work through Original Series Star Trek, Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. All great. The first 2 Series are classics. DS9 is my personal favourite though as I loved the character development. I also felt the characters were a bit more realistic and relatable (from 2nd season onward).
Not as many paragons of virtue, right?
@mikejankowski6321 lol...that to an extent. I also often wondered about all the "problems of the week" situations were they turned up to some world, sorted out some social-political issue of the local population and then left with everything apparently resolved - the federation is the ultimate peacekeeping force apparently... All conflicts will be sorted in days!! In reality a lot of these situations probably relapsed after the federation left. You had a couple of cases of this in DS9 but overall you could see that often times things aren't a quick fix.
You know the problem with time travel is that once you've seen the future you might not want to go back!
You should definitely check out Star Trek, both the original series and the Next Generation are excellent shows! Always enjoy your reactions, you seem more natural and down to earth than most reactors on RUclips! Keep up the great work!
Yes, watch Star Trek, and as many have done, watch the various series and movies in release order (this means starting with TOS). This will help it make MUCH more sense to you!
Star Trek: start with the original series. You’ll never get all the references in TBBT without it. Or in many later episodes of future series and movies. The next TV series is Next Generation, but there are movies that came in between. I’ll leave it to others to weigh in on the rest. But start with TOS (The Original Series), and just remember it was made in the 1960s.
MGM art director Bill Ferrari designed the machine in 1960...and it was built by Wah Chang.
You are in for a treat in the upcoming serieses, i freaking love season 3,4,6,7 the most, season 4 is hilarious
I think you would want to build on the beginning but also understand the time it came from (the late 60s) and what Gene Roddenberry was trying to show (that in the future things are 'fixed' and there is no/less racism, misogyny, etc. So do ToS (The Original Series) in order that it was aired. 79 episodes and you can see it build up. Then the movies in the order they came. It could be really interesting, I think. You do agreat job and I love you and when you and Nguyen watch things and react. Thanks Nick!
i loved that there is only one yt creator im watching TBBT with 😂
Not a where-to-start-with-star-trek recommendation, but have you considered reacting to Psych? It is so. much. fun!!!
When they’re thinking of a new fourth team member, raj suggested the girl who played blossom. She does eventually appear on the show
Much to the show’s detriment but that’s my opinion
@@arielcarmona6660Fun at first, but only as a side character. s4 and 5, maybe 6. When added to the main, the show derailed so bad and for me, the shamy didnt work.
Also, she is a horrible person irl which proves a phd only does so much.
@@aquele4virou3I and many fans love Amy. And she is a lovely person in real life too.
Yes, watch Star Trek and start at the beginning with the original series.
When watching Star Trek, I would normally recommended starting with the original series (from the 1960s with Kirk and Spock) followed by the first 6 movies featuring the original cast before going to Star Trek The Next Generation. But since you're watching Big Bang Theory, which will have countless Star Trek references through out the run of the series, I might recommend watching both shows at the same time because there will be a prominent re-occurring character you haven't met yet that is literally a walking Next Generation reference. However, you may want to give the original series a head start for a few episodes for a good reason that I won't spoil for you at this point.
The Time Machine is on of THE Sci-Fi Classics and one of my alltime favorits (altough im a sucker for older movies)
Sure its a bit dated but i think its a good movie anyways
You should give it a try
If you rewatch Gremlins, during the scene where the father is on the phone, they pay homage to The Time Machine in the background by having someone on the time machine with the back spinning in one scene and when they cut back, the machine and guy have disappeared.
As sci-fi series go, I highly recommend 'Doctor Who' (starting from the 2005 series).
As a long time Star Trek Fan....really, to get the best experience you need to start at the beginning, but it's quite the undertaking, so while I would love to see your reactions, I understand if you choose not to. Just keep reacting, I really enjoy your reactions
Yeah, starting Star Trek (especially depending on the depth of the dive) can be a years-long journey. On the other hand, it's years of content with a built-in audience.
Also, as I've watched others react to Star Trek, it does this old Trekkie's heart good to see other people fall in love with Star Trek
@@SilentBob731 And, it's worthy on its own merits.
@@philipjohnson3459 💯
this keeps getting better and better :D
You start with Stark Trek by watching Babylon 5. 😂
The original Time Machine movie is really good, definitely check it out with your girlfriend! I also like the remake, different story but still very interesting science fiction! I think you will enjoy both movies!
Penny is so adorable during this time
My favorite 2 episodes. LMAO
Where to start with Star Trek depends a little on the reactor. Some are more open to the dated atmosphere of the Original Series than others, or for that matter the more modern but still somewhat stilted feel of The Next Generation, at least the first couple of seasons.
For Nick I would recommend starting with the Original Series, then going to the Next Generation. With the Original Series I would recommend watching all the episodes, Even the bad ones are fun to watch and appreciate for their unique and historic badness. For Next Generation, I think it IS okay to solicit suggestions from fans and just watch the best early episodes, through Season 2,. After that, you may as well watch all of them.
Start with the first one so you can get the feel of what Big Bang is talking about. Also Next Generation but get to know the original cast first
2:37 To do Star Trek properly would take years. You would start with The Original series (79 episodes), then the original six movies. The 70's animated series (22 episodes) is highly optional.
Then you've got Star Trek: The Next Generation (178 episodes), slightly intermingled with Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (176 episodes) toward the end and the four Next Generation movies.
Now we move on to Star Trek: Voyager (172 episodes) , and possibly Star Trek: Enterprise (98 episodes), though I honestly didn't watch that one.
After that, you've got the Kelvin Timeline Reboot Trilogy of movies, and the series Star Trek: Discovery (65 episodes), Star Trek: Picard (30 episodes), the animated (and quite fun) Star Trek: Lower Decks (40 episodes), the excellent and ongoing Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (20 episodes and counting), and the possibly ongoing animated series Star Trek: Prodigy (39 episodes).
After all that, you should really watch Star Trek: The Center Seat, an eleven-episode documentary about the franchise(s). 😁🖖
Enterprise holds its own; it's a bit different I think, but all series are, so you may or may not approve 😊
@@mellertid I'll probably get around to it someday (I have it in my collection), but there's been a lot of good TV out there for a long time so it's a crowded field.
If you do Star Trek, I would recommend just starting with the best of the original Movies (2,3,4,6) to get to know the original cast, then moving to The Next Generation (TNG) show, in affect skipping The Original Series (TOS). Honestly both shows were produced by the same man, Gene Roddenberry, and so a lot of the episodes share very similar themes and storylines. TNG was basically Gene’s modern take on his original series, with technology being so much better in the 90s, so it’s not actually necessary to watch both shows. You would just end up comparing episodes saying “I’ve seen this before,” which takes some of the fun out of it.
Should you watch Star Trek?:
Well, it is iconic for a reason, so, yeah... Just do not start with any of the movies -- they happen decades after, and ruin any sense of danger if you ever want to see the series, as you would already know who has survived, and who has not. This also applies to the 2009 reboot/prequel film and its own sequels, as you cannot really appreciate what is happening unless you understand the older stuff that these are stealing their ideas from (lol). Anyone who says different is lying, or at the very least exaggerating their ass off!
Reacting to Star Trek is quite an undertaking... There are 12 series, and 13 films, so far... And when you consider how difficult editing for RUclips will be on a classic series, you might be intimidated. You don't need to see it all, but anything before 2005 is definitely worth your time. That brings it down to 5 series, and 10 films.
There are guides for those who don't necessarily want to see every single episode, so you could do that, if you think it'll help.
As a first experience, all you ever need to know about ANY franchise is that the order of release is the only reasonable way to go because each subsequent series or film was written based on what is known up to that point, particularly prequels! Just my 2 cents.
Enjoying your Big Bang reactions a lot, Cheers! ;-]
💯💯💯🖖
IMO, you don't need TOS. Start with TNG, then DS9, Voyager
Great reaction and great introspection. Generally, the things you addressed you will see more of. As for Star Trek, there are references sprinkled throughout to both TNG and TOS. Good thing you are already familiar with TNG. You need to have a working knowledge of the original series especially in terms of Spock and Kirk (in that order). No spoilers, just trust me. Watch the whole series if you can, or at least a third to a half of it. It is worthy in itself but as I said there are references that just work orders of magnitude better if you are in the know.
Controversal take: Start with Star Trek: Voyager. Worked for me.
I mean, sure actually.
So you did it the Janeway. 😉
@@mikejankowski6321 Ha! Nice.
They are grown men and maybe their hobbies are childish, to an extent, but it's not like they sleep in their parent's basement and live paycheck to paycheck. They live on their own, are well educated, and have substantial careers, so they can have hobbies and collections like everyone else. If Penny finds their hobbies weird and immature, well that's her problem.
I don't judge Penny on one episode, at least she apologized, but I sometimes don't appreciate how she criticizes how they live and really don't like Leonard feeling he needs to change just to impress her.
I would love to watch your Star Trek reactions! The original series then TNG. Would also love to see you react to Star Trek (2009)
Yes! I made it🎉
❤Yes the Original Star Trek series and Yes to The Time Machine 1960 film. After the OG Star Trek you will be ready for the Star Trek Movies and then you can get into all of the other series......it is a lot.
Star trek reactions- yes please! I am a fan of the whole franchise.
The first season is short because of the 2008 writers' strike.
You don’t need to watch Star Trek or Star Wars to enjoy this show. I haven’t seen either and this is still my fave show. I’m not oblivious to them but know enough to know. (Pop culture)
Suggested watching order for Star Trek: 1. original series 2. animated series from the 1970s 3. Next Generation 4. Deep Space Nine 5. Voyager 6. Enterprise 7.Discovery 8. Picard 9. Short Treks 10. Prodigy 11. Lower Decks 12. Strange New Worlds
Without spoilers, the comment about getting TV's blossom for the physics bowl will be SO much funnier if you know who she is, if you ever re-watch this.
Some of the old Star Trek movies are worth reacting to (#2, #3, #4), but the entire franchise would be a lot! Big Bang references mostly the older movies and older TV series (The Original Series, Next Generation).
You forgot #6!!! (In the original Klingon.)
Great reaction.
If you don't want to watch the full Star Trek Original Series, you should at least watch the "Wrath of Khan","Search for Spock","The Voyage Home", and "Undiscovered Country" movies.
And Space Seed first to set the one vital backstory.
No you shouldnt start there but Deep space 9 is by far the best
Stargate
I would watch star trek reactions! I like deep space 9 the most but starting with kirk and go to it chronologically would be very cool.
Star trek is a massive fandom, especially if you consider the movies...but is worth it. As far as the series go, I,personally would start with next gen. Then there's deep space 9, then there's a prequel called eneterprise, then a spin off of next gen called Pic card and a separate prequel called Discovery....
Definitely check out Star Trek! It seems to work well for reactors to see a few top tier episodes of the original series and then go into the original movies. The effects obviously look dated, but the stories are great!
Thanks for continuing with BBT! I wouldn't mind you reacting to Star Trek but it can be a bit polarizing within the fan base. Personally, I love Star Trek The Original Series and the first 4 original movies. My second favorite is actually Start Trek Strange New Worlds which is the newest and is set up to take place before the original series. So you want something modern, but good as an introduction, Strange New Worlds may be a place to start. Some fans are die hard fans of Captain Picard and will lean more towards you watching Star Trek Next Generation first. Each Captain has a different personality and each series is set up a little differently so it is hard to say what you would like as an individual. Maybe try a few fan favorite episodes? See which series jives with you? The original series is very episodic so you can kinda drop in wherever and get a full story where as next gen can leave you bit confused if you just pop in to the wrong episode.
I'm here... anxiously waiting for a Buffy reaction😢
I would absolutely love to see your reactions to the Star Trek universe! I think as insightful as you are will enjoy and appreciate the greatness of the writing more the most. My choice would be: Original Star Trek Films, TNG, TNG Films, DS9, and Voyager.
Sheldon is my favourite.
yes, the original Time Machine movie is worth watching.
I hope you continue The office someday.
Maybe drunk/high binge through the original series 😅
Reserve that approach for 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Yes we should watch Star Trek!
I started watching Star Trek in 2020 during the pandemic, I don't regret it at all, it's very good (at least until it reaches the current ones) in my opinion it was good util Voyager (even though it was very weak), I followed the release order starting with the original and I think it holds up very well to this day.
It would be cool you do reactions of him, at the time I watched it I wanted to see reactions together and there were very few RUclipsrs doing it.
yes do star treks and in release order is the best plan, the original is the cheeziest but it really defines what startrek is. TNG is great as is DS9
The funny part about Raj offering an additional thousand rupees while trying to buy Leonard's share of the time machine is that it's only worth around $12 lol
Also, with Star Trek, because of how much of it there is, going on 60 years, I'd recommend that you start by just streamlining the original series (with Kirk, Spock, etc), and then the movies with the original cast (1-6). There's plenty of resources online that'll help you figure out what episodes are important to understanding the movies, like how "Space Seed" ties directly into Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (and some that are just good old-fashioned must-watch episodes, like "Arena" and "The City on the Edge of Forever"). Then do the same thing with The Next Generation before watching the 7th-10th Star Trek movies. The older shows are much more episodic in nature so it's not exactly required that you watch every single episode. Voyager and DS9 don't have any movies, but both are still very good. After that my knowledge starts to falter, it's so much to keep up with 😂
After 2005 you don't need to remember. Damage from all that lens flare.
Stargate. The movies and shows. I think you would love them.
Yes, Nick, I definitely want you to react to Star Trek. Normally, I would say start with TNG as that might be the easiest one to get into but I think these days I would say start with The Original Series or TOS. And start with the first pilot of TOS which is named The Cage.
EDIT: Redshirts is a TOS thing. Not so much TNG. Oh well, I'd better stop before I get into spoiler territory.
TOS is okay, i loved TNG mainly because of jonathan frakes playing riker 😂❤ ds9 is great and voy is female power which was a new thing back then and therefore i liked it really much 😊 so iwould say start at the beginning but you can start which each because they explain the rules in every one of them in the beginnings to get new fans on board ❤
Hi Nick, if you want to watch Star Trek sometime in future, I would recommend watching it in order. First TOS, then the movies, then TNG, then the movies, then DS9 and so on. Well, that's enough stuff for the next 10 years if you alternate with other series and movies, so there's plenty to go around. 😁😂
There are some reactors who only watch a few episodes per season, well, in my opinion that's nonsense, just do it right or don't do it at all. Because, for example, you also don't just watch the fight and battle scenes in Lord of the Rings and leave out everything around it. Of course there are filler episodes, but generally they give a background to a certain character or are a bit lighter if there were some serious episodes before and stuff like that, but in the end almost everything in these shows is well done and worth watching. 😉
