Canada needs rent control, otherwise the costs of living is going to burst. Maybe public housing with affordable rent should be the answer.

I agree lazy landlords who live off of other people's hard work can be paid less. They can maybe at least work part time instead of making a killing doing practically nothing.

The minimum wage in our country is about $2 per hour and we need minimum $5 to survive. That is why most of us live and work abroad.

I've been watching you for some time and I'm quite impressed so to say. Your work is wonderful.

Minimum wage in Jamaica is about C$70 weekly.
If you live in the city, Kingston or Montego Bay, rent can get as high as US$2000 and is sometimes quoted in US.
All the videos I've seen has described how expensive it is to live in Canada but the economy is better than Jamaica and our homes, living expenses are about the same in some respects or higher.
Persons will survive on minimum wage if there is no choice, right. But it's too low to really have a decent life in Jamaica. Generally, persons with minimum wage in Jamaica would rather try a different path or find some opportunity to work elsewhere.

In the Philippines, minimum wage varies, in National Capital Regions like Manila, Makati and its adjacent cities is about Php537.00/8 hours, or approximate of $14 Canadian ($)... That's a quiet big than Provincial rate... That's the reason why I would like to work in wealthy countries like Canada... Many country men want to emigrat; regardless of its cost of living as you've mentioned in this video. I hope I could land in Canada soon.

The minimum wage is sort of 21 RMB an hour and 2420 RMB a month in Shanghai. But it is impossible to survive in Shanghai on the minimum wage. Most jobs in Shanghai pay every month. Payroll Deduction includes income taxes and EI which comes off your paycheck. So your net paycheck will probably be around 2000 RMB. Rent in Shanghai is going to be 1300 to 2300 minimum. My apartment here in Shanghai is a separated apartment and I'm paying 2300 RMB a month. If you are sharing with other people or renting one room in a house, you could pay maybe like 1300 a month or 1500 a month. Food is probably going to be 600 RMB minimum as well and 100 RMB is for cell phone costs.

650eur/mo. net in slovenia .. and the small apartments are around 350-400 and utilities are 200 in summer months and 300 in winter for an apartment (i still live with my parents in house and ist 300 per month just in heating in winter, food cost the same as in canada gas is more expensive (like 50c per litre more), car insurance for just necessary insurance is around 500 a year and registration is based on the size of the engine, but around 300-400 eur per month for cars with 1.8-2.5l engine..for a bigger engine like 4.0 or more its 640 just on registration .. so its really hard to live like that.

If I earn minimum wage of 2240 (14/hr), and don't have a car and live in sharing i.e so my expenses will be approx:
    Earning: 2240
    -
    Rent: 400
    Food: 300
    Transportation: 150
    Mobile Bill: 50
    Tax: 300
    Miscellaneous Expenses: 100
    Amount left: 2240-1300 = 940 dollars.
So even if I earn a min wage of 14 dollars and minimize my expenses, I can still save approx 900 dollars a month. Isn't that good enough for starting?

The thing is if minimum wage goes up it screws the hard working class. If minimum wage is 15 an hour the sawmills and Mines should go from 30 an hour to about 60 per hour to keep up with the times. It's hard physical work that makes a 30 year old feel like they are already 70 years old. I know from experience.

    Hi, teacher.😎
mmm, here the wage is an insult for the people, but this is another history. 🙄
I think with a minimum wage in Canada should to be possible to survive at least 2 people but with the basics for example:🤔🤔
    800 rent
    400 food
    150 light
    50 water
200 transport in bus per 2 people
    100 cellphone per 2 people
    ------
    1700 monthly 😊🙃
If the wage is 1900 monthly is possible to survive but I think must be austere.😜
Can you please tell me if is correct my budget? please, please.
    Thank for the video😘😘
See you soon, take care and bye bye for now.😚😚

@@raed2178 There are only 3 ways to legally immigrate to Canada.1. Investor immigrant 2. High skill worker 3. Married to a Canadian citizen. Canada doesn't accept foreign degrees or diploma exception is US. Your law degree is useless in Canada. I met some Ph.D and medical doctor immigrants who have to work as taxi drivers or in kitchens so they can put food on the table.

The minimum wage 150-200 CD. Current retirement wage is 300 Canadian dollars. It is in Russia, country which has 40 percent of the world natural resources and 33% of the world forests.
Less than 10% of general population have an income - 1000 CD. It is usually police, military, and government workers with a few exceptions like truck drivers
and pilots of airlines. But 200 friends of Putin's are very wealthy people. I guess it is something we can be proud of )))

By the way this is all based on you actually working 40 hours. Probably half of minimum wage jobs are part-time, less than 40 hours.
