We did one. With our group it was worth it. Although the best viewing we ever had was watching illuminations dead center of the lagoon by the fence, front row. I believe they make you pay for that now as well. It felt dangerously close and was so thrilling! You could see the props so nicely too. As for the boat, the extra space and comfort was nice. We ended up rafted up with a boat of very kind and chatty Disney Executives that were also having a great night. Because we go to Disney so much, I'm all for new experiences or enjoying things in a new way.

Yes!! I wanted to be much, much closer. So, that was the biggest sad face point for me as a whole. It was still a great event for a birthday celebration, I just wanted a little bit more from it.
