Just picked up a 2016 gt and have realized that if I want to do something to the car you have probably already done it get my ngauge in a few days and the tune next week thanks for the videos and keep it up.
I have the new 2016 gt and I'm think about actually getting the rousch hood vents that replace them. I think it's a cool idea but I honestly never pay attention to them lol
Love your videos, thanks for all your efforts. One question, I have a '17 GT auto and I really hate the shifts. In D mode it's tolerable for around the town driving but spirited driving in S mode really sucks. I don't like how the gear hangs if you lighten up on the throttle and how slow it is to react to a downshift request. In you're experience, does the Lund tune address any of these issues? Thanks again!
So the Lund tune changed the factory shift points in sport+ mode. Can you elaborate on the difference more. Maybe also give examples of different driving scenarios and how one would behave vs the other. Thanks.
Well, I don't think the tune changed the shift points in Sport+ mode specifically. It changed the shift points all the way around. But, when you're in Sport or Sport+ mode it holds gears longer before shifting. It does that even without a tune, but with the tune it's more pronounced. If I'm in the city I usually drive in normal or sport mode. On the highway, I use Sport+.
+16P51-GT what do you mean by more pronounced? It holds it even longer? I'm also trying to understand what you said about the bama tune about redline. Do you mean it would hold it even longer to almost redline? Elaborate more on the difference between factory, bama, and Lund if you would. Thanks.
I'm referring to RPM's but it's kind of hard for me to explain. Say in normal mode, for example, if you floor it, the car may shift at 5000RPM's, with Sport or Sport+ on, instead of shifting at 5k, it would hold and shift at 6k. With the Bama tune on it was like it wasn't shifting when it should and the car would red line. With the Lund it isn't red lining. It holds the gears longer allowing the RPM's to climb, but it shifts before red lining.
Ali did any of those blue clips brake while removing the dash piece??? I had a tracking device installed on mine (similar to lo-jack) and when the Ford guys removed it, some clips broke. Eventually they tried to fix it, but the clip right next to the steering wheel didn't quite fit and now it pops from there. Love your car by the way!
Thanks! I don't think I got a CEL with the nGauge, but I have had it happen before with an SCT tuner. Usually it's some error about the way the ECM was shut down. If you get a light, you can check the code through the nGauge to see exactly what it is and clear it if necessary.
How does it ride in Drive mode? I don't really care for keeping my car in S the entire time I drive around...uses more fuel and with my Roush Axle/H-pipe setup it gets really noisy.
still watching the video as im typing, but your car is N/a right? just regular mods.. how do you like the tune? really debating it to hold me until i go TT
+16P51-GT oh ok cool. I'm looking to get one next month and noticed some of screens are a lot smaller. What's is different about your car that yours is that size ?
It's just an option. Some have the touch screens and some don't. Also, some that have the touchscreen don't have navigation and some do. Mine doesn't have nav. But, an Apple CarPlay and Android Auto update should be available soon for Sync 3 on the '16's. But, if you get a '17 it will already have it available.
What made you decide to tune again after you first tune and your trans problem? I thought the warranty issue was a problem. I know mine would be too. Just curious if you found something else out or just said screw it. Thanks!
I gave it a few months to make sure the new transmission worked. But, since I plan on supercharging it in the near future, it was going to have to be tuned again anyways.
+16P51-GT Ah,ok. That's cool! I can't afford to do without a warranty myself. Just curious if you found out something new on warranty friendly tuners etc.... That's great though! Enjoy the new tune my friend! Have a great one Brother!
General question for you sir.. When you originally flashed the vehicle for the first time and it saves your stock tune onto the sd card, yes? Did you have to flash it again to actually upload the tube? Lund told me that's what I'd have to do if I heard him right was flash it twice?
It first downloads the stock tune and then flashes the new tune on the device. But, I believe it's all one process if I remember correctly. In other words, you select the tune that you want to install but before it loads it, it first downloads the stock tune.
I've done quite a few modifications. I had it dyno tuned once but I took that tune off and put the Lund one on. I haven't had it dyno'd since putting the Lund tune on though. I'll probably wait until I get long tube headers on before getting it done again. I can definitely feel more power over stock with the Lund tune though.
I plan on super charging eventually, so I figured it's going to have to be tuned anyways. I gave it a few weeks to ensure that I didn't have any issues with the new tranny. This tune feels a lot more safe. And I still can't say that the other tune is what caused the transmission to fail. But, fingers crossed!
The nGauge serves a few purposes. Since your car is stock, you could have Lund create a tune for you and you would use the nGauge to load the tune. You can also datalog with it and monitor a whole variety of engine parameters. Plus, if you ever got a check engine light you can use it to read and clear codes. It has a variety of different gauges that you can set to monitor pretty much everything happening with the car.
Am i the only one who can't see it in the middle vent? i have the brightness all the way up and during daytime i cant see anything the screen shows.. im thinking of switching it to the first vent..
No, it's not just you. I know a few people that switched it to the vent closest to the drivers seat. I usually keep it on the RPM gauge which is easier to see during the day, so it's not too big of a deal for me.
Really depends on the modifications that you've done. For instance, if you upgrade your cold air intake to one that allows more air in, the tune would make the adjustments to allow the engine to know how to handle the increased air, resulting in more power. But, even on a stock car, tuning will help get more power.
Hey do you still use this tune? Any issues? How do you like it? I was thinking about getting it for my 2015. Only worry is about the warranty complications.
Nothing wrong with an auto. As I stated in my video, I have a bad knee. Even so, I love my auto. It's my car, so if people want to buy an auto, that's their choice. Never understood why people care what others drive anyways.
Just picked up a 2016 gt and have realized that if I want to do something to the car you have probably already done it get my ngauge in a few days and the tune next week thanks for the videos and keep it up.
Thanks for watching and congrats on the new GT! I think you'll love the tune.
I'm also looking forward to checking out the difference in e85 versus 93
Your car just gets better and better!!!
Thanks!
I love the way this installs in the dash!
Yeah, that's the main reason that I got it.
the gauge looks slanted its killin me so bad xD
I didn't think you were going to tune your ever again what made you change your mind? And are you worried about voiding your warranty?
2016 is the only year the new S550 Mustangs will have the front hood signal lights. This video did a good job showing them off on the on ramp.
I have the new 2016 gt and I'm think about actually getting the rousch hood vents that replace them. I think it's a cool idea but I honestly never pay attention to them lol
That's the main reason that I haven't replaced them.
The Roush scoops are tempting. But, I don't want to lose the uniqueness of the turn signals.
+16P51-GT I'm on the same page
That tuner is pretty slick man. It's display is nice. 😀
Thanks!
yes, another great, and helpful video, thx man. keep up the great work
Thanks!
I am ordering the Ngauge with a Lund 93 octane tune soon.. Your video sealed it for me.. Voiding the warranty here goes nothing, hope it's worth it!
I think you'll love it! Let me know how it turns out.
+16P51-GT how many miles have you put on your car while it's been tuned? No issues to speak of?
Around 800 miles so far. I drove it to Mustang Week and back with the tune on. No issues at all.
Very nice.. You're running the 93 octane Lund tune right?
+16P51-GT love how you edit your videos too man! You got a sub from me
Car sounds sweet!
Thanks!
Love your videos, thanks for all your efforts.

Thanks! Yes, the Lund tune did make the shifts smoother. They will work with you to get your tune exactly right as well. Great customer service.
Very nice upgrade!
Thank you!
Thanks for the vid! I'm going to order it👌👌
I'm sure you'll love it!
looks much better installed than the accessport
So the Lund tune changed the factory shift points in sport+ mode. Can you elaborate on the difference more. Maybe also give examples of different driving scenarios and how one would behave vs the other. Thanks.

+16P51-GT thanks for the explanation.
No problem! I may do a video showing the tachometer in the different modes. It'll be easier to see what I'm saying that way.
Thanks! No, none of the clips broke.
Thanks for the install info it was great. Quick question did you get a check engine light after tune?

how does the Lund tune make driving the auto daily feel? I can't help but feel bored with mine, I'm considering it.......
It's amazing! Makes me question whether I need any more power, honestly.
thanks man! think I'll make the move on it
Cool, let me know what you think about it.
Hey man i have a 2015 mustang gt and i was wondering if there is such thing as a ghost cam tune and how do i put it on the car
Yeah, I think Lund offers that tune. If you have an nGauge, they just email you the tune and you load it to the device then load it on the car.
How does it ride in Drive mode? I don't really care for keeping my car in S the entire time I drive around...uses more fuel and with my Roush Axle/H-pipe setup it gets really noisy.
Drives great in regular mode. Since my car is an auto, I just like Sport mode for the rev matching.
16P51-GT nice video are you using pedal max with tune? thx
still watching the video as im typing, but your car is N/a right? just regular mods.. how do you like the tune? really debating it to hold me until i go TT
Whats up man, what kind of cable do you use for the ngauge to plug into the computer?
It uses a mini-USB cable.
Love that gauge. Do you have to have a tune to use the gauge?
Nope, you can just run the gauge if you want.
You joined the Lund team. I told you it was so much better than bama.
And you were right. Thanks bro!
Nice vids man. Was that the stock radio screen or is that a after market kit. Thanks for info
Thanks! That's the stock radio.
+16P51-GT oh ok cool. I'm looking to get one next month and noticed some of screens are a lot smaller. What's is different about your car that yours is that size ?

Sure, no problem.

I was told to flash it twice
By Lund
That's probably right then. I don't really remember the process to be honest. It went pretty fast and I only did it once.
Lol, no worries. Thank you
you should of gotten a pillar for that gauge.
I thought about looking for one, but I like it where it is.
hey matey.. what else have you done to the mustang ? have you had it dyno. are you getting more power at the wheels ?
I've done quite a few modifications. I had it dyno tuned once but I took that tune off and put the Lund one on. I haven't had it dyno'd since putting the Lund tune on though. I'll probably wait until I get long tube headers on before getting it done again. I can definitely feel more power over stock with the Lund tune though.
I just odered this and I have 1 vent then an oil and air gauge and another vent.. not sure where to put it
Hmm, I'm not sure. May need to do something custom. I don't think they make a mount outside of the vent one.
And.. Does it matter which of the 2 analog plugs you use on the back of the device to plug it up?
Yes, the OBD II plug has a specific port that it goes in.
Awesome video man! Lets meet up soon and collaborate on a video! I think people would enjoy that!
Yeah, let's do it! Just let me know.
+16P51-GT will do man!
how could u tell on the Bama tune that it didn't feel right cause I have it on my mustang and not sure if it's any good?
For me it was the shift points. But I have an automatic, if you have a manual it may be different since you control when to shift.
I just did this to my 2017. Did you have problems with the touchscreen working with a/c on? Mine couldn't read my touch until i turned ac off
No, i never had that issue. You might need to get it exchanged.
would this work with the roush supercharger or may overwrite the roush tune wich it does sucks
The tuner itself will work in terms of reading diagnostics, etc. But, you would need a Lund Tune if you wanted to change the tune.
I didn't think you would ever tune again!!
LOL! I didn't either.
that's cool man , once I got my Bama tune it was night and day , hella power , but glad you found something you liked , it does look cool
+16P51-GT is it better than the dyno tunes you had?
Great video, Is this a race or just like a general performance tune?
It's a 93 octane tune. I sent Lund the mods that I had done so far and they emailed the tune.
+16P51-GT so guessing your not worried about your warranty after your first tranny repair from the bad tune?
I plan on super charging eventually, so I figured it's going to have to be tuned anyways. I gave it a few weeks to ensure that I didn't have any issues with the new tranny. This tune feels a lot more safe. And I still can't say that the other tune is what caused the transmission to fail. But, fingers crossed!
+16P51-GT right on man. I'm going to do the tune and Jlt intake soon. How does the tune feel idling!
Smooth! I'm loving it so far!
and just a question, we're did you buy the ngauge at
You can buy it from: www.lundracing.com/
Can you get a Lund tune without getting the ngage? I can't seem to find just a Lund tune. Cuz 540$ is a lot for a tune lol
Yeah, they cost $200. You can order it here: www.lundracing.com/2015-2017-mustang-gt-custom-tuning/
16P51-GT oh nice. Thanks!
I was going to get this one but when I saw what happened with your car I decided to stay away. what made you decide to go back to tuning?
Trial and error. I have no solid proof that the tune broke the transmission. And I've heard good things about Lund.
+16P51-GT Cool. keep us updated on this. This looks like a must get. Looks awesome.
Thanks! I will.
+16P51-GT time to upgrade to the flex fuel tune if you have access to e85 In your area.
I still don't get the use of it and what will do if I added it to my stock echoboost
The nGauge serves a few purposes. Since your car is stock, you could have Lund create a tune for you and you would use the nGauge to load the tune. You can also datalog with it and monitor a whole variety of engine parameters. Plus, if you ever got a check engine light you can use it to read and clear codes. 16P51-GT Thanks a lot for the reply !! Love your videos :)
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Hey P51 curious as to what rpm the automatic shifts at while in D and S? Bitchin ride btw!
Good question. Per Lund: "The shift points on all modes have been bumped from the factory 6700 to 7200-7300 rpm because it is optimal to shift there."
Where can I get the ngauge from ?!

for a minute i thought i was at a Chinese buffet
What?
hey how is that tune treating you?
Loving it! The PedalMax made it even better.
Hey do you still use this tune? Any issues? How do you like it? I was thinking about getting it for my 2015. Only worry is about the warranty complications.
Yeah, I've had it on since doing the video. No problems at all, I love the tune!
It's crooked, that would drive me crazy!....Otherwise great video!
I actually had straightened it up after the video.
why do you have an automatic?
ruclips.net/video/_y4o3ig_P7g/видео.html
Why not?
why not?!?!?! because it is a Mustang! Do I need to say anymore?
Nothing wrong with an auto. As I stated in my video, I have a bad knee. Even so, I love my auto. It's my car, so if people want to buy an auto, that's their choice. Never understood why people care what others drive anyways.
U rather have a Lund tune vs palm beach dyno ?
I've heard good things about Palm Beach, but I haven't tried one of their tunes.
try his tune man. he worked for lund so he knows all about them and stepped it up
Yeah, my friend Brandon with the Paxton SuperCharger is working with them on his tune. I may give them a try.
I heard its better
