Very much enjoyed. As a railway history nerd, I appreciate the maps and mention of the subdivision, at the start of the video. Thanks for all of your work on this.
Been wondering how that section fared...we came at it from where it crosses Brookmere road at Bridge #6 and we were gobsmacked by the devastation. Thanks for the intel.
Cool little adventure, sad to see all that damage. Hopefully the community can come together to rebuild the trail, it's totally possible to do. Might need some funding from the province to repair the bridges. I still want to ride the whole thing some day!
I beg to differ on Brookmere as a starting point. You can’t go very far on the KVR in either direction without the trail being destroyed and very difficult to navigate.
very interesting vid. thanks. I would be interested in bicycling, filming, documenting the Brodie to Coquihalla Lakes section and see how much damage there is and how impassible is.
Thanks for making all these videos! It's definitely been very helpful in my prep for hopefully riding from Vancouver to Keremeos some day! Random question but we're you also riding with a big group of kids in tulameen over may long weekend? Drove by someone that looked like you!
Mother nature takes all back eventually. In my Rockies, old roads sub alpine left alone, are basically gone in twenty years. Grown in, erroded and mostly unrecognizable. Your trail is a huge loss though. I'm sure many people enjoyed it before its devastation.
For years I followed Iohan Gueorguiev ruclips.net/video/8CGzSCK9ZWA/видео.htmlsi=NgDm6ZtLv8VVqyjA and his bike travels from Northwest Territories to Argentina. Iohan made some YT vids of his riding the Kettle Valley Rail. An amazing young man. RIP

Me too! I love finding an old photo and comparing it to the present day location.
Nerves of steel going it alone in that territory … congrats and thanks for sharing .
So sad to see it that destroyed, but nice to see a couple of the trestles survived. You're right though, it probably will never be repaired 😢
Awesome trip!
Too bad about the devastation from floods and fires, but a good display of what Mother Nature can do😁

The burnt trestle was a shocker!
That was great. I have buddies who would love to do that trail.

Thanks for this. I have been curious of the extent of the damage. I hope they find the time and funds to repair this. At least it’s only one bridge
Thank you for the video. I’ve been wondering about that section, I think Brookmere is the best starting point at present.

I fully recommend doing this - it’s very interesting!
Nice..part 2 of that Fall adventure. 👍🍁🤙
That's right! I hear it used to be a nice scenic loop from Brookmere but now it takes a couple separate day trips!
Hopefully it all gets restored someday.
thanks
Have not done that section and did not know any trestles existed. pity that the rail trail can not be repaired for tourism .
Look how dry the river beds are!

Yeah we were riding around Otter Lake! Hilarious!
I doubt this will ever be repaired.
Bikewacking, I like it a new term for Websters. 😂😊
Yes! And then to the olympics!!

Interesting, I will take a look!
Why to you call bridges trestles?
Oops!
Because of the construction method.
Stay in the bloody city.
And take that silly bedpan off your head.
(Why would anyone wear two hats?)
It’s one super hat. I attached the brim of an old hat onto a bike helmet. I think you need one.
Wow!
I didn't realize!
Are you clever or what?
Your mom must be so proud!
