Piru Love is so hard. Bloody Mary's roll call verse is so iconic. When I first heard it back in 93, it still goes even today in 23.

Being that I’m from Dayton, Ohio……The home of Roger Troutman, we used to jam that Bangin on Wax album back then because of the familiarity with that funky sound. Funny story……The Summer of 94 when I was on my way to being a high school freshman, I went to Central State University for their upward bound program to stay outta trouble. Dayton, oh was and still is a VIOLENT mid sized city. I took that Bangin on Wax album with me to campus and used to play and sing Piru luv daily because it resembled Computer Love. That was until one of our resident counselors heard me rapping it and straight G-checked my lil 14 year old self. Lol I should’ve known better because that counselors name was “BK” and he was from LA. I don’t remember where exactly in LA he was from though. I do remember that he took me aside later that day and gave me some game about how serious it was back home for him and his homies and why I shouldn’t be playing with fire like that because you never know who’s listening or watching. Very big life lesson learned that day for sho…….

Bloods and crips banging on wax is a epic , I play it chopnotslop (chopped and screwed)and never from this day. That will never be duplicated, that album. Even the people that rapped on there. Did a great job on the bars. They even took jabs at each other. But kept it peaceful never dissed each other or dead homies. Just straight lyrics. Steady dipping is a tight beat.

I love all the songs the whole album symbolized our people coming together for a greater cause! To try to stop the violence on the streets. Even though it kinda backfired. It’s was still a good try at it. And to help try to get everyone to Catapult some into successful careers that’s rappers.
I also took it as a comedy show as well. To see who had the gift to clown the other side the hardest. Even though I was banging back then I didn’t care about what either said was saying in a disrespectful way. I thought it was and still is a great album. I had high hopes for all them guys. Shout out to the ones still living. 🕊🙏🏽RIP 🙏🏽🕊to the ones gone on to the afterlife
