That beat for Kurupt - we can freak it… was so good
Love all the songs that Battlecat has produced! Helping young producers to become Great
Producers. West coast slept on legend.
Yes sir!! This brother producing skills is Hard to imitate
I loved the Bangin on Wax albums when they dropped especially since i'm from LA but before those or just before those albums came out, True Blue hit the streets and went crazy. I grew up on Normandie and 36th Place but basically across the street was the Harlem 30 Crips and they dropped that True Blue album. Then they started takin shots at the Bangin on Wax folks and vice versa. All those records were soundtracks to my live growin up in LA during that time. Battlecat, Toddy Tee, Mixmaster Spade, Kday Radio, etc maaaaaaan I love my childhood in LA!
Lil keke loco was dope af
@@kchoodsta Hell yeah! I just gave him a shout out on IG the other day and he "liked" it
👍🏽👍🏽
Hell yeah I'm right around the corner from you on Normandie and 48thst We even had a click called true blue 💙 lol man those was the days!!!
I love how Court digs into ALL the history. Whenever he interviews people, he covers all bases. I rock with that. A lesser interviewer wouldn't have gone all the way back to Bangin on Wax.
RED RUM 781 iz from AVENUE PIRU. 🤘🏽👌🏽 🚩. R.I.P. 😇🙏🏽🌹🕊.

Respect battlecatt was a Og & not a hater fr I salute him 💯 🏁🏁
Another fantastic interview Sir😊🙌🏾🎧 DJ Battlecat is so Dope! One of my favourites (Up there with DRE, EA-Ski, and couple more..) Bangin on Wax was listened to by some of us who could get music from Cali to my home of Vancouver Canada. Then more Rap, Hip Hop artists had play here on radio-more mainstream. OG Sin Loc is one of my faves (good people and also family to Big Eric EAZY-E rip and Lil E😎my friend.) The history and depth of your interviews are truly respected and you can see people are comfortable with you, and open. Thank you again🙏🏽😊🇫🇮⚔️🇨🇦
Big Court knocking it out the park with these interviews. Another great one.
Cuzzo will always be one of my fav LA producers ever!! one of the greatest of all time along w/ POOH, Crazy Toones(underrated as F rip), Quik, old NWA the posse era Dre, Warren G, JellyRoll
That day of steady dippin video the vibe was awesome from start to finish. It was fun and historic.
Great interview. I never get tired of hearing the stories about growing up in the neighborhoods from the Black Gen X crowd. All the hoods were pretty much the same across the nation when the dope swept through in the 80's. Every time I hear the stories I see myself. Cleveland Ohio is where I was born and raised by the way, 70s baby raised in the 80s and 90s, wouldn't change it for the world (actually, wish I would've known about the stock market back then, would've been all the way up right now lol)
Harry-O a real one for showing battle cat the game.💯💯
Im really amazed right now. Many Artists and Single Tracks that Battlecat mentioned, are in my Playlists except some few. I guess i have a great Music Taste. Much Much Love to Battlecat man ❤️
Cat keep that west coast/ G funk style alive! He did so much chit he don't get credit for
That Nipsey tribute from Snoop Dogg classic thanks battle Cat
Long live nip...but that shit was trash bro. The J stone tribute was the one!

Rest in peace for Red Rum. Hey thank you BATTLE CAT for taking a minute to get your story out the important part so that they can understand a deeper sense of first hand account the challenge it took and the success that came from it.
This is music history...I didn't know about Piru Love! I'm listening to the album now🔥🔥🔥
Bro you be getting the dopest history in your interviews.

Great interview for sure! Being that DJ Battlecat represented a neighborhood/section even though, he wasn't with everything that comes, with representing a neighborhood/section. Was that common for young black males, during the late 70's into the 80's? Coming from a home during that time with family structure mom, dad, & love. If you went outside you were affiliated regardless?
Too many variables, manly consisting of what hood u grew up in, whether or not u had lineage to a particular hood, how u carried yourself, and what u gravitated to
@@jaywit8386 appreciate the clarification! Could you maneuver through the neighborhood/section without issues just carrying yourself without the energy of I'm looking for a problem?
Bangin on wax all day the real deal
should've know battle cat did that tru friend of mine ft snoop.. sounded like his beats...
"Slob b.K.O." & "Everything Gonna C Alright," were released on "Bangin' On Wax: The Best of the Crips" 2 CD set❕❕❕ The hardest release, wall-to-wall, was that Nationwide 'Rip Ridaz, IMO, tho❕❕❕🥶🥶🥶
From what I'm getting from this interview, he said "my version ". I'm assuming he did a different beat.
@@Omowalemayasa I'll checc the credits, tomorrow...I keep the CD in the whip!!
@@Omowalemayasa "Slob b.K.O." was produced by Ronnie Phillips, DJ Battlecat, DJ Fingaz and Tweedy Bird..."Everything Gonna C Alright" was produced by Ronnie Phillips, D. Fingaz, Leroy Dukes, Tweedy Bird
