Truly we cannot gloss over that Pearl-Scott and Grian-Scar are both duos who have had really cool relationships in the Life Series multiple times (to the point the fandom LOVES pairing them) and are also both winner duos. And all of their wins have involved each other (Pearl basically gave up for Scar, Scar basically gave up for Grian, Scott DID give up for Pearl, etc.)
If I had a nickel for every life series animatic set to a crane wives soundtrack, I would easily have a dollar, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it’s so common. That being said, this is gorgeous and very clever! Great job!

i love this so much! i've always associated Queen of Nothing to Pearl and Scott but it fits Scar so well!! they both know form their past partner that winning is a curse more than a blessing but they've both been forced to wear the winner's crown... also the "something pulls me to the shadows" part fits them both, they both had something calling them, that changed them and ultimately gave them the victory, for Pearl it was her own madness and Scar with the Secret Keeper making him into someone he didn't want to be. (at least that's how i like to interpret their characters) i love analysing the parralells between the two of them, thanks for sharing this animation, it's so cool! your style is really simple but it conveys so much emotions! (especially Grian at 1:00 wow) and i'm in love with your Pearl design!
