Don't forget that within the next two patches, they will completely change this based on the TOs, and you will be left holding the bag with no recourse. Never buy a ship based on specs, and even then buy on looks with caution. Honestly, in my opinion, just save your money and the headache.
Nail in the coffin for my redeemer? 2xS5 turret on a multi crew fighter? To op! 2xS5 in a "small" fighter? Ok! I mean... would u fly a fully crewed redeemer or take 4 guardians? I tihnk the answer is clear...
@RN1441 absolutely. Chris wanted his Tie-fighter. Tie-Fighters in real live would have a terrible cockpit view.

Well, two "wings" have no guns, so it would be easy to place wide coverage cameras on the ends and provide the pilot with a full projected glass. I don't recall how the missile variant of the Fury does it when closed, but it had external view just fine.
@@Camural Come to think of it... Remember the death star trench run from a new hope? Combat ships in the star wars universe have targeting displays which allow for enemy ships to be tracked and fired upon regardless of any instruments or cockpit structure blocking pilot view, so they are functionally superior to what we have in Star Citizen.
@@house382 MISC is notorious for crappy fields of view, but that in turn just shows how CIG is obsessed with flash over substance. They make terrible designs like lifting rotating chairs that take up 5x more space than they need to because it looks cool on first impressions (though it quickly gets very annoying to deal with the sloppy unskippable animations every time you want to get in or out). It's emblematic of the design of the whole game - do what looks cool no matter how poorly it works or conflicts with the other choices.
I find it very funny that anyone bothers examining stats in Star Citizen. It all changes when it's time to sell new ships. CIG's word is writ on water.
It looks pretty cool, but I think CIG have really screwed themselves with the weapon distribution on ships. Several fighters can get up to a s4, and now there are fighters with a 2x s5 or 1x s7 option. Yet everything bigger than a fighter, but smaller than a Polaris, has to contend with only s4 and s5 weaponry (at best), mounted on platforms that range from "bad" to "terrible" when it comes to their ability to actually use those weapons against other ships. I feel like they need to beat fighters back down to a size 4 max, and be a bit more generous in distributing size 4 - 6 weapons to ships up to and including the 890.
The 2x s4 would do a little more damage but the single s5 would have better armor penetration. I'm torn, though would probably lean to the 2xs4 as well Edit: the s5 would get you almost 2x the fire time per recharge so I might actually prefer the s5.
So basicly they could have just made a size 5 qed hardpoint module to switch up with the weapon. But rsi is greedy af so instead there hoping some suckers purchase 2 of them? o.0
@miketiido9349 CIG did the same thing with Ares Ion/Inferno, Talons, Argo MPUV, etc. Chris realized he can make more money forcing players to buy all the variants, instead of having modularity.
@Camural Yep even tho it is one of the Kickstart goals. Probably could have been the simplest one to achieve. They give the retaliator a empty cargo bay and pat themselves on the back. What a joke. My list of ships: Cutty blue, Zeus, Titan, cutter, scorpius... all could have been modular. I have a corsair, that could fit a size 5 qed if it was a thing. I refused to buy variants of ships I own but conversations like this convinced me to close my wallet. I'll gladly talk about it to people who don't know star citizen. Yes they milk some of us for fast cash sometimes but the money they loose from building a terrible reputation is probably a far greater loss than anyone can calculate. Cig game design where marketing controls everything is shooting itself in the foot.
Meanwhile my combat ready Imperial Courier in Elite Dangerous zips around at 480m/s and boosts over 685m/s. Could reach well over 800 in a lighter build. Why does Elite Dangerous don't struggle with desyncs with that? Might their tech be better? 213m/s isn't even Mach 1. 😂 Add space atmosphere drag in top of it, no wonder it's more like piloting submarines. 😂 Molasses modes ruined this game.
@@guynamedmaggi5520 yeah, I do miss ship interiors, but hey, at the end of the day, ship interiors can't make up for everything. It looks amazing. But I'm afraid it's performance will keep me from purchasing. I'm in the process of adjusting my fleet and I don't see a need for many new ships. They need to have a ship that truly caters to the adventurers' needs. And looks good. I'd really like to see some chassis that allow for a custom setup inside.
The QI is going to suck having to use, even if you throw a repeater on. Halved dps, and you have the largest target on your back in the battlespace. Oh, AND you're a slow heavy fighter, so you'll lose 100% of your engagements with med fighters, light fighters, and interceptors. Yikes
@Camural I think we're at the stage now where they're salami slicing so hard that it's impossible to deliver ships with mass appeal anymore, not without nerfing existing ships heavily.
What a weird ship it is going to be. Tired of variants sucking my wallet. 2 size 1 p. Plant you said? What is that going to translate to, 5, 6 shots canon. Slow as it is heavy fighter but then has serious obstructions whom I am sure won't have camera past obstructed angles to show on cockpit. I dont know mate, I may pass that 1, it sounds like a set up to be too punitive and variants 🤢🤮
Full glass bubble cockpit so you take in a great view of those giant wings

Guardian seems to be more agile and will have Higher Alpha Damage.
Vanguard is a nice ship, but for me personally it is too ugly.
@ I hope CIG gives more of a reason to buy it than its interior and looks like the Intrepid.

remember , store credits are your friends, dont spend WARBOND !
Yeaaa but no chance am I melting my datterpillar for it, tempted tho I may be

Mark my words: there will be a QED nerf of the Mantis soon!
Just like the Corsair nerf
Actually there was a buff to the mantis
@@OneTomato Unexpected, but appreciated 👍
Is that power creep again there? Sure looks like slight power creep again, just enough to pass as sideways upgrade.
any talk of any cargo space that you have seen? it would be nice to have a place to put stuff you loot.

it's a heavy fighter, the redeemer is a gun ship.
And to answer your question, it's the same thing for corsair, constellation and any multicrew.
FFS Redeemer was originally designed with size 4's and now it is actually good against fighters.
This thing looks like it's going to have horrible field of view obstruction.
It is from MISC.

completely agree
The 890J is a yacht....
Also the problem isn't fighter damage.

Instead of just putting one gun on the QED version they should have gave it to size fours with that little Miss capacity.
