Totally agree with cockpit weakness, I got one shotted by an aurora missile volley that blasted me out of the seat. If blast shields are supposed to be a thing, this needs it.
Or just give the canopy more HP. There have been a bunch of other ships in the past that had this exact problem, and they were in the end fixed by buffing the canopy HP.
F8C seems better at combat right now (without maelstorm), but that loggout bed on the Guardian (and huge storage of items) is so tempting. Also, Mirai you can get for much much cheaper than the F8C. Decisions, decisions. Feeling the guardian will age better than F8C, F7A, any other single seat fighter
I melted the F8C because it was flying like a schoolbus. I got a F7A instead which is much cheaper, still packs a punch and is much more nimble. Haven’t looked back.
Guardian is my ship now. It doesn't have as many guns as the Lightning but they are size 5's. Capable of taking on harder targets than the Lightning. It's also very sturdy. I had a couple of collisions with almost no damage (dead ships, ramming ,etc)
Thanks for the successful demo demonstration. i only completed one bounty mission myself, after that the whole ship was red. it offers enormous firepower for its small size. i bought the guardian qi myself. Mainly because of its great tie fighter look and its practical functionality and cockpit overview like a Prospector. if it turns out to be too weak, it stays in the hangar for now. so far i've been very happy with my vanguard harbinger in the atrition 5/ 4x laser repeater 2 and rattler missiles. In the turret were Deadbollt 3 (but was hardly used). You can also get two SCU cargo in there. Unfortunately the ship only has one exit.
@@infinitespace239 sorry if that came across wrong i was referring to the vanguard harbinger with only one input. i meant to say that it has two Guardian inputs as an advantage. as i said, i own it, use it and know its interior. o7
I think the Guardians are meant as combat ships for those of us who are less interested in combat but still want something to fill that role. Although it can hold its own, it does not seem to be for the combat min-maxers. It is my general "run-about" with teeth, and I like it much better than a starter ship for that job.
I didn’t find the cockpit to be an issue, my biggest problem was with the wings having the thrusters and once they break there’s essentially nothing you can do. I also don’t know how much of a problem that really is because it only broke after a collision.
I really want to see how the guardian does with a pair of light strikes. They may not be optimal on paper but I’m guessing the high projectile speed will give it a decent hit to miss ratio.
You were spinning out because even tho you had your wings still, the thrusters front/left were damaged by the missiles that slammed into you, A ship like this isn't meant to have repeaters, it's meant to have cannons, and if you want to really annoy your target, make those cannons be Deadbolt 5s. Without having to power the Deadbolts nearly as much as an energy weapon, you can provide that much more power to shields and the QED.
The AI turrets are very hard hitting.I bet CIG isnt that far away from implementing AI blades for us players. An AI Hurricane because its fitted with a turret is equivalent to a 2 vs 1 fight.I consider the QI not a solo ship its more of a fleet support fighter. Build to withstand enemy fire longer then the mantis could. F7A or F8C are way better for solo fighting
I feel like the attritions are great at brawling if you can stay on target, the alpha is low. The M7s have a better range and higher alpha at the cost of DPS, which I think is what the guardian, especially the QI is designed for. Stay in the 4.5km range, lock them with QI, and plink them from a distance.
With everything I’m seeing… it seems like the Guardian, at least the base, needs some buffs. I think an additional S2 shield is a necessity, especially because it’s outputting less damage. It would also be great if it had additional weapons, but it is what it is I guess.
I love how scuffed up they get, my QI looked really heavily used, but had to claim when an engine would not get replaced on repair, it worked fine but my OCD would not let me use with only one engine.... By the way Bullet II Missiles are the way to go in my experience, they basically one shot the smaller ships!
It is an escort heavy fighter. It is really not designed to solo brawl. You would have Reliants or Furys(If they have a carrier) working in tandem with Guardians to escort Hull Cs. For the people wanting a brawler you should stick with the F8 or the Vanguard.
You almost have to treat the ship like a tank when it comes to positioning - it has mediocre shielding and all of its health is in the wings, so if they don't eat damage for you it kind of just dies to a light breeze.
Guardian is definitely a pve ship, makes you wonder if the QI is worth it since it's only 4500 distance and being a ship that has a s2 shield and only 1 puts it a a low on pvp and like you said small ships like the famous gladius can def run circles around him
I was doing pve and took a beating in this ship. Lost the top right wing and was still in the fight. Took at least 5 missiles. She can hold her own for sure.
TY for making this video. I've been look for one that specifically focused on how it tested in the actual verse. This is fantastic and answered the exact questions I had! It did inspire one more, if you had to make a comparison, which ship did it fly like the most? Does it fly like the Vanguard, etc?
sitting in a glass bubble in the front of a fighter ship in space does sound quite stupid, however this ship is very nice with galdereens paired with 2 lumacore power plants
This was a fun video to watch, thanks! I love the Guardian but I disagree with the blast shield premise. Blast shields are eye candy, at least for now. They may or may not have functionality in the future and CIG may or may not acquiesce to putting them on the Guardian If they do it won't be in the near future. Until then we just have to learn not to put our face forward into the opponent's fist. The Guardian is certainly maneuverable enough to accomplish that.
Other than the bed it doesn't really have anything going for it. Inferno has double the shields, 23% more sustained DPS, double the missile payload, and 3 minutes shorter claim time. It has much poorer roll and of course the gun is fixed. The Guardian is pretty much a substantially tankier Hornet MK I (apart from missile payload and bed), which was a $125 ship. The Mk II has 40% more sustained DPS - that's going to add up FAST - and at $175 puts this thing to shame.
I wish the 400i had some more utility, everything else in its class is better. If they gave it a med bed in one of those useless climate controlled areas it would have a great niche.
Bro you gotta pop those flares! What we don’t know is, will this thing have great armor on the wings? Is this why they left a weak point? That may be the only spot a light fighter with size 1 and 2 guns can actually damage. Those smaller weapons may not be able to even damage the wings. Time will tell!
If you are hunting for a new and interesting, Guardian. If you want for auec than Vanguard. Also if you have Polaris or 890, Guardian can fit there. o7
Star to put FULL power on weapons/thrusters/shields at the same time, instead of having 4 bars only on thrusters like you do....that's fondamental fighters set up... And after you will fight any fighter you want, backwards, and full boost on directions, light fighters can't turn around you.. Sorry dude but you don't have enough skill and you don't know how to manage your power to make a video to test a ship loke this.
No, mate this ship doesn't have enough power to full power weapons, shield and thrusters. I would say that I am the perfect person to test this. I am not the skilled Pilot in Verse. And a skilled Pilot will have no problems in any ship. What matters is regular People who are piloting the ship or starters who bought heavy fighters to have more survival chances in verse.
Totally agree with cockpit weakness, I got one shotted by an aurora missile volley that blasted me out of the seat. If blast shields are supposed to be a thing, this needs it.
Or just give the canopy more HP. There have been a bunch of other ships in the past that had this exact problem, and they were in the end fixed by buffing the canopy HP.
i was 1 shot by an aurora, but it hit me in the back left and knocked my power out immediately.
The fury missile variant has blast shields
Cf-557's Galdereens are a must for this ship. The added velocity really helps with small ships.
Yes, its much more accurate
F8C seems better at combat right now (without maelstorm), but that loggout bed on the Guardian (and huge storage of items) is so tempting. Also, Mirai you can get for much much cheaper than the F8C. Decisions, decisions. Feeling the guardian will age better than F8C, F7A, any other single seat fighter
With CCU etc I can get the QI for 150, half of the F8C so a simple decision for me tbh
you get what you pay for🤑
F8C is broken atm, maybe permanently, is sad, WAS my favorite ship for a while.
I melted the F8C because it was flying like a schoolbus. I got a F7A instead which is much cheaper, still packs a punch and is much more nimble. Haven’t looked back.
You realize the Vanguard exists, right? The Warden is fantastic and the Harbinger is fantastic plus torpedos.
Guardian is my ship now. It doesn't have as many guns as the Lightning but they are size 5's. Capable of taking on harder targets than the Lightning. It's also very sturdy. I had a couple of collisions with almost no damage (dead ships, ramming ,etc)
I took an eclipse at full speed, I’ll take one wing over a critical mission failure!
Great ship!

It has 2 exits. You can exit through the glass cockpit at the front. Watch my previous video about Guardian. o7
@@infinitespace239 sorry if that came across wrong i was referring to the vanguard harbinger with only one input. i meant to say that it has two Guardian inputs as an advantage. as i said, i own it, use it and know its interior. o7
I believe this is the type of ship that you would snipe larger ships with. More of a everyday driver.
I think the Guardians are meant as combat ships for those of us who are less interested in combat but still want something to fill that role. Idk man I was fighting a AI hurricane and it absolutely walked me in my guardian

They need to fix missile notifications most of the time no warning and they sometimes 1 shot guardian.

Hello there .. Nice review bro
Have bought one for my allday bounty
So nice
Thank you mate. o7

Goose, you need to punch us out!
TY for making this video. I've been look for one that specifically focused on how it tested in the actual verse. This is fantastic and answered the exact questions I had! It did inspire one more, if you had to make a comparison, which ship did it fly like the most? Does it fly like the Vanguard, etc?
I haven't just tested it against Vanguard, but it is very similar. Glad that the video has served. o7
Sup man, I must agree, 400i is the best looking ship
sitting in a glass bubble in the front of a fighter ship in space does sound quite stupid, however this ship is very nice with galdereens paired with 2 lumacore power plants
Yeah. I need to get that too. o7

i agree. i think we have gotten too used to facetanking missiles in pve. missiles should be 1-3 shot kills.
Cute ship, nice addition to the Intrepid, very similar, lve variants.....because it is a variant.

Things like this make me think it’ll get some tuning soon. Especially to further differentiate between the base and QI
How do you even get bounty missions? Not seeing any offered on contracts for 4.0 preview
Ask someone to share it if you don't have it.
At first I hated that paint but once I saw it ingame it grew on me.
Same here lol 😆
Yeah, paint makes a ship, having an interior living space and multiple entrances is a plus, cute ship, very pretty aestetics.
I do love my guardian, qi is the best
You can see from the video that your right side jets are on but the left ones are out; that's why you're out of control
I know, but it was stupid that the size 2 missile has completely shut them off. o7
Yea i liked the guardian a lot, but my firebird is just so fast! 😂
I wish the 400i had some more utility, everything else in its class is better.
If they gave it a med bed in one of those useless climate controlled areas it would have a great niche.
you change the gun?
Yes
Bro you gotta pop those flares!

No warning for missiles sadly. Bug.
This or F8C?
Depends, F8c better fighter, this better solo ship has interior.
Its a good escort ship, pay for hire
This or Vanguard? Why?
If you are hunting for a new and interesting, Guardian. If you want for auec than Vanguard. Also if you have Polaris or 890, Guardian can fit there. o7
bought it - sold it - F8 would beat it
i thought this ship would have 4 weapons, dont really understand the design of it without that.
It would be a lot more viable with 4x Size4s. With only a single S2 shield, it would fill the glass cannon role exceptionally well.
anyone know will this fit in the carrack??
No. 890 jump yes.
Nerf inc ?

Lol you can't put full power to this ship, it's a power management game to max degree.
No, you do not need a blast shield. No.
Yes you do, one like in Carrack to turn it on with a button or turn it off
@infinitespace239 No.
