- Being nostalgic about 1.6 is something most of us (who played it) are. I loved 1.6 and CSS back in the day but they really haven't aged well for me since I haven't played them at all for the last couple of years. I agree they're fun to play but I wouldn't prefer them over CS:GO. :)

Sometimes but I recently got matched up with 3 other players (I was playing with a friend) and we all got a long fine and even played 3 matches more (That we won) together it was fun af.

1.6 gave me the idea of shooters
COD 2 trained me slowly to learn how to aim and shoot
CSS gave me that extra boost to adapt my Aim and game sense
CSGO carried me all the way in terms of playing FPS games. Thank you Valve

1.6 was like a partly game mod which was really nice trivial, while CS Source was like many people favorites very first recipe of video game engine
EDITED: In fact, 1.6 did have competitive scene like a long time where it ruleset goes 5v5 just like what until Global Offensive as we always used to know. There are no specifically competitive mode in older CS where the community had to make it for themselves through server and plugin pretty much

In CS 1.6 you really need to change the settnings. Its not like GO where you dont have to change but in 1.6 you need to change ALOT to look clean and nice

About the same, although slight edge to 1.6 for gameplay. Although I started playing Source with my friends so that has a better community in my eyes.
CSS was basically just run and gun, can't explain how many noobies who just run, aim at chest and shoot and actually beat skilled players who aim for the head. It was probably good for casual play but 1.6 was for the more skilled and interested players _in my opinion_.

In Hungary, CS 1.6 was a HUGE thing. Nobody has even bought it actually. :D BUT,we often made clans and had wars between each other. The community was just great,less hackers and such. Some people like cs:go too but 1.6 will be always our favorite. :)
I played far too much of CS Xbox classic, I played it when I didn't understand the difference between the pc version and the Xbox version...I still enjoy it from a nostalgia perspective

Not cs:go and not cs:source either, cs 1.6 was always the legendary cs game and that's a fact. Before the release of cs:go imagine that cs 1.6 had much bigger community from cs:source. After the release of cs:go people still preferred cs 1.6 until they added skins and the competitive ranks to make kids buy their game and that's also the reason the community of it is TRASH. While it's a nice game i believe that there is no one to deny that the community of it is full of kids who wants to play games with realistic graphics, skins and the competitive ranks. Cs 1.6 was always the legendary cs and back than before the release of cs:go, cs 1.6 had sooo much better community and you would rarely deal with kids, trolls or cheaters. The community was good since there weren't many kids and also the gameplay was so much more enjoyable and required much more skill from cs:go. The newfags have no idea how great the older cs was, only the people who played it since 2006 can understand what i'm saying.
