    Thanks for the mention Chris!
That hole that you say is 10 or 15% covered is much smaller than the oil passage coming from the main bearing. So if the screwdriver doesn’t go through it doesn’t mean that the hole is not lined up. If your captive hole for the set screw is lined up the other two should be OK.
I also thought the rubber is supposed to get enough friction and drive the bearing, but I ruined a bearing by overtightening it and then I realized that the metal shoulder needs to contact the bearing, no way around that whether we like it or not. So I tighten since then I tighten it just enough to hold the bearing.
It is a tedious job and many times I miss-align them too. Nothing wrong with going all the way through and staring over. You are doing great!

Thanks, Elin. I did eventually figure out that the one oil passage is smaller...I was able to put a zip-tie through no problem. As for the bearing tool, instructions would have been nice, but I probably still would have had the same problem until I figured it out on my own. After all the re-tries, I think I'm pretty proficient now!

Well said Elin I took my bearings out once or twice before I got them where I liked them. Tedious is a good description 👍

I did the cam bearings on my engine recently and to be honest it’s not that easy for amateur builders such as us. Good job Chris you explained it well. Enjoy your videos thanks

Thank you. Definitely agree with you that it's not real easy nor intuitive. Wish the tool was a bit better quality, but it worked eventually. Cheers!

Love the videos. Gives me hope that I can tackle this before I’m gone.

Thank you! It wasn't that bad once I got the hang of it. Hell, I knocked a few of them back out and in a few time. Except for that one bearing I damaged with the dog head screw, I didn't do any other damage so they seemed none the worse for wear on the multiple tries. Good luck!

Not a job you want to do hung over, tedious! That's a wild setup with those capturing screws, I've never seen that. Go Eagles!

Ha! No, definitely not. I don't think I was hungover the first time...it just kicked my ass. Those screws make me nervous. Seems so easy to totally mess up the camshaft. E-A-G-L-E-S - Eagles!
