    That was awesome! Had new sleeves put in my 66 in 1991. Was too much of a whuss to do it my self

      Thank you. We'll see how it goes. The protrusion seems to be rather important in keeping the head gasket intact. Cheers!

    That was really interesting, I've never worked on an engine with liners.

      Yeah, me either. Definitely adds an added twist to it. I figure with modern sealants, it has to be easier to get good seal than it was 60 years ago, so I should be good (I hope)!

      It will seal very well, my Dad is the #1 super fan of that Permatex form a gasket, good stuff.

    Lots of work went into that, but you should have a nice engine when you're done.

    good job, be careful of welding a galvanized coating as it produces a toxic/poisonous gas, grind the coating off first then weld. paul

      Thanks, Paul. I thought I did! I even stopped and re-ground some but I still had some that kept popping. I gave up on them eventually. I had heard about the off-gassing, and that didn't sound any fun, that's for sure!
