Robert Andre Glasper (born April 6, 1978) is an American pianist, record producer, songwriter and musical arranger with a career that bridges musical and artistic genres. To date, Glasper has won four Grammy Awards and received nine nominations across eight categories. He also won the 2017 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for his song featured in Ava DuVernay’s critically hailed documentary, 13th, with Common and Karriem Riggins.
Glasper's breakout crossover album, Black Radio, won the 2013 Grammy for best R&B album, and following this success he performed on various successful albums, including playing keyboards on Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly and winning another Grammy for the track “These Walls”. The ongoing Black Radio series of albums has since become Glasper's calling card, with guests such as Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def), Bilal, Ledisi, Lupe Fiasco, Jill Scott, and Erykah Badu. Black Radio was the first album in history to debut in the top 10 of 4 different genre charts simultaneously: Hip Hop R&B, Urban Contemporary, #Jazz and Contemporary Jazz. The feat was then repeated by Black Radio 2.
#RobertGlasper has toured extensively, drawing a large and loyal following globally. He has also been an Artist in Residence at some of the most prestigious festivals and institutions worldwide, including the London Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, The Kennedy Center, Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall and the Blue Note Jazz Club.
Glasper has written, performed and produced on albums by Mac Miller, Anderson .Paak, Banks, Herbie Hancock, Big K.R.I.T., Brittany Howard, Bilal, Kendrick Lamar, Q-Tip, Common and Talib Kweli amongst others. Glasper has also written successfully for film, winning an Emmy for his song "A Letter To The Free", featured on Ava Duverney's 13th, scoring the Emmy-winning documentary "The Apollo," winning a Grammy for his soundtrack to Miles Ahead and composing the original score for Issa Rae’s The Photograph.

Robert Glasper’s music often puts me in a trance-like state; but “You and Me” - oh my!
You’re absolutely right it’s like a trance like state makes you think and reflect on how good God is.🙏🏾👍🏿💎🎹
@@robertglasper4845 Oh, trust and believe, I don’t need to be in a trance-like state to know how good God is. In the words of the great Steve Arrington, in his song “The Joys of Love”, I thank God every day.
@@dinibell you absolutely right you really don’t have to be in any different state of mind or body just realize how good God is. And I do thank him each and every.. God is good!!🙏🏾⭐️😎
@@robertglasper4845 All the time. 🙏🏾
@@dinibell and all the time God is good you truly have a blessed day and I prayed all of your love ones are in God, most perfect Care always🙏🏾⭐️😎
Been listening to these guys for a week now - so many impressions I can't descibe. Herbie, Chick, Joe Z., Miles, George Duke - they're all there PLUS the hip hop vibe. Oh - they're masters of their sound also. Just too much.....
Branford Marsalis
One day here in Sacramento,CA., my nephew was showing me some of his music collection, and unbeknownst to him, he had no idea of who Robert was! He liked him, but after I started listening to him on my own, "I LOVE THE BROTHER"! Now, I try to find every concert of his and will attend one if ever it comes this far. All the brothers on their instruments are tremendous musicians!
First heard him open up for Jill Scott at the Hollywood Bowl in 2016 and he and the band blew me away. Ledisi sat in for 2 and Lupe Fiasco did a song. I'm hooked. Robert Glasper Experiment is the Greatest. Love everything about this band.
You owe it to yourself to see them live. Crazy.
I did and wanted to twerk on the table. I didn't sit down. The rest of the audience was dead. They were a part of soul concert in Atlanta.
Ashley Williams I was there the year they cut his session short at Chastain Park. Robert was really upset about that.
goin later this month!!! never thought i'd get to..
One of the next on the bucket list..for sure. All I do is listen to dude ever since discovering him on You Tube!
Real musicians!!!!!!!!Happy Holidays........
May / 2021 and still watching in awe!
So glad he added a guitar to the mix.
“You and Me” meant something other worldly to, Casey. I almost evaporated listening to it. I get it.
A trick : you can watch movies on flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Coen Brodie definitely, I've been watching on Flixzone} for months myself :)
Can’t believe this experiment will be without Casey😢
R.I.P. RGX
there is no RGX w/o Casey Benjamin, for me. He has been long gone from RGX.
His DNA will live on in the Experiment
These guys are just out of this world! Beautiful music..Robert Glaper Experiment is so good at what they do..Much Love down here in Africa
Drummers Mark Colenburg and Chris Dave make one desire learning to play drums. One who once believed he’d experienced the pinnacle listening to drummer Elvin Jones on Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme.” It is the the pinnacle but so is what Colenburg and Dave do. Can’t leave out Jack Dejohnette and Tony Williams. Thank you Lord for the invention of jazz. It’s’ enriched my life and continues to do so. Salute Robert Glasper Experiment, you all are beyond!
My first time hearing this WOW!
I'm just in love with Robert Glasper Experiment! I went to a presentation held in São Paulo/Brazil and just fell in love.
Olha aí brasileiros curtindo um som desses! Muito legal!
e portugueses também!!! Saudações!
Quando foi isso Daniela?!
Queria demais ter ido... haha
Robert always put together a great sound regardless of whose with him: Chris Dave, Dereck Hodge, Casey, Marc etc... Love his shows..
Love me some Robert Glasper!!! Saw him in Central Park in the Summer of '17. Discovered them thru Dwele! I discovered Moonchild thru Robert Glasper!!
Obsessed with Robert Glasper, have seen Experiment live twice at Toronto Jazz Festival, and hope they're back in 2017! Discovered them via Bilal, who I love also.
bilal live..........a real quality live performer and usually has an excellent band(saw him twice in london)
I totally enjoyed my friends and relatives of this video! I adored their band hits from the very first time I heard them! They are one of favorite bands to see get down on stage!!!
Robert glasper🔥🔥🔥🙌.
The transformation on how the flow is perfect ......
love Robert Glaspe,r!!!
Jimi Hendrix style sound (effects) production. Like the drummer here, Hendrix also had a helluva drummer. The Experiment is another level. So glad I stumbled upon The Robert Glasper Experiment online. In the last day or so I’ve listened to “Shine” about 20 times. Mostly back to back. What groovemakers these cats are! I’m blessed , no doubt.
This is truly an awesome quintet. I almost flew to Fort Worth to see them last month. Someday.
Robert Shelton, I live in North Carolina now, but I'm from Texas. I scheduled my vacation time just so I could see them live. Awesome experience. You gotta make it happen. #lifeaffirming #soulnourishing
35:33 - 37:30 superb "Everything in Its Right Place" rendition

You and me reminds me of 2 past love affairs that I was involved in. They both became terminally ill be one has passed away. My heart longs to feel that kind of love again.

Saw them here in Pittsburgh, a great show.
Blown away... such beautiful chord changes, emotions.... yet still very pop and accessible... music the way it should be. Love the alternating 7/8 and 6/8 changing bars at 6.23. Thanks to the uploader!

Good sound. Great synchronicity. Just right😌
best live performance of RGE
RGE, is a band reminiscent of the revolution. If you're a real audiophile, you'll notice the define a genre or more so.....a decade or more of musical transformations and distinct definition!!!!!
❤🖤💚🔥💣💥!!!!! RGE!!!!!
Awesome Awesome
Magnifique !!!!!!
“I love the sound of , how much a dollar costs!”
If Gods made music it would sound like this!
God did make it ;-) That's why they're SO TALENTED!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Damn, see there, there he goes again . Love Love love R G. Music is sooo on point, yet new sounding. It's one thing to be unafraid. Several so called artist are "unafraid" to explore and reach out artistically. But it's an ENTIRELY different thing to unafraid AND talented. See in my opinion that's the thing about RG. He's totally unafraid to explore and he has killer chops. He could have easily chosen the safe route, and stayed middle of the road with his killer chops and those of his equally talented bandmates, but he chooses time and time again to push the limits, yet still appeal I'm thinking to non jazz heads unlike myself. RG you have a fan for life unless you just start doing straight pop music.(just kidding) Cause even then you'll put that RG spin on it. Peace
The Context Doctor!
WTF??!!! How did the singer have to die? WTFhhhhhh. This ain’t even fair … what a magnificent talent who did nothing but bring joy, smiles and creativity to the house every night smh 🤦♂️ RIP bro.
Thanks Fuzzy. Cash Gang

Darnell Trump 0
I would give anything to take private lessons from Mark Colenburg!
I just don't understand his hand technique.
Rip Benjamin Casey ❤
what really sux is that id have to travel way out of my area just to enjoy the full Robert Glasper Expermient...
Casey got on the same hat Jeepers Creepers wore! they are slaughtering though!
tremendo
35:35 sounds like Everything in Its Right Place by Radiohead
It was actually! A mix of that song and Maiden Voyage that Robert made Yearsss ago
Extraordinario
good
This set is Jean Luc Ponty-esque, fascinating.
I really wish he'd perform the original version of "No One Like You" more often. The remix can't hold a candle to the original.
26:03 ❤️
Yeahh
28:46🔥🔥🔥
36:13 they were playing maiden voyage fragment!
halflifelai That's the one from Austin Paralta right?
39:00 great drumming !
