Opening to Who'll Stop the Rain- 1984 Key Video VHS

This video is SOLELY for educational purposes in preserving home video history. I do NOT make any money off these videos, nor do I want any. If you want the complete film, it's currently out of print on DVD and Blu-Ray but I imagine you can track down a used copy pretty cheap. At least until Kino Lorber eventually gives us a better disc.

One of five films released in 1978 dealing with the human cost of the Vietnam War. In the case of this film, what happens when Vietnam vets get nose deep into the drug trade. Powerfully acted and well made all around, it was the victim of sabotage within United Artists as distribution execs openly hated the picture and poorly promoted it, much to the frustration of the production executives in the company who greenlit the picture to begin with.
Source of the above information is the book Final Cut, written by former UA production head Steven Bach. Although it's primarily about how the Heaven's Gate fiasco, Michael Cimino's massive ego and mistakes made by management along the way caused the end of United Artists as an independent entity, Bach dishes out some other intriguing stories about other key films in the 1978-81 time period.
