I've used cerakote products on plenty of neglected trims, stuff last for months given you give it a thorough pre deep clean, gives a complete "new look" all day
Proud owner of a 2004 4Runner Limited, with 258K miles, doing an overlander build as well on mine. The rear little hatch on the console, what I usually do is put a plastic bag and use it as a trash bin.
I recently did the timing belt as mine is pushing 300k+ miles. I’m also looking into making a simple platform for camping inside while I save up for a rooftop tent. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Also clean bike mine we also both have sportsters 🤣
Hey Vu, what I do with plastic trims and such, I use ceramic coat for plastics (same one I use on headlights) comes out nice and black and well protected for a long time!
Don’t wait to get out doors, it’s a great idea to have the seasons, but having an old vehicle means there’s always maintenances, just make plans and do it!
You just need to clean the door gasket area/opening. Buy new rear door gasket. It’s probably damaged/worn/gunky over time and lots of moisture just sticking there…causing it to rust on the edges.
That’s definitely frame damage, d pillar ,trunk floor and wheel housing were all probably damaged they either repaired or replaced parts I’d remove the door weatherstrip and check the pinch welds to see if they replaced the quarter panel
i do like the 4th gen 4runner especially the v8 ones.. since the 3rd gen are garbage Lbj designs and has a not enough power v6 for me.. those that 5vzfe is a good engine.

I think that silver bracket on the back of the center console is a trash bag holder, the hooks on it hold the bag open.

You should put some white wall on the truck and air ride system..
car for 1500 is a steal. you can tidy up and clean up all the small imperfections and get bigger tires nd suspension eventually.
My suggestion for you is to clean it up and sell it. Buy one with 4x4 if your are going overland it.
