19:25 The reason why you're not taking flak bursts at this point is because those guns that would be doing so are their main battery. Since their main battery guns are busy in the surface engagement, they only have their point defense 25mm to use to defend against your air attacks.
Wolfpack what I like about your vids is that u keep things realistic by ordering your battle groups to patrol around iron bottom sound like in real life
Wolfpack’s AI gunnery conditions: Night, horrible firing solution, shooting at small and nimble destroyers Outcome: in 2-3 salvos straddles target and sets a Destroyer ablaze in less than 5 salvos Meanwhile my AI gunnery conditions: Daylight, 85 percent firing solution, has multiple seaplanes spotting fall of shot, has multiple radar equipped cruisers, shooting at a slow moving Tone class heavy cruiser Outcome: Struggles to Land a single shot until the 8-10th salvos. Sets small fire to target about 5 minutes into the gunnery duel Me: *Visible anger*
I was sitting here yelling at you to have the A-20s strafe the destroyers! Finally, you did on the last one, with superior results! Yes, you did lose one, but you traded one aircraft for one destroyer, which works for me. When they were coming in on the Yugumo, they would have fared better hosing it down than trying to skip bomb it, simply because of its aggressive maneuvering. Plus, they are coming in on the back side, and the DD is primarily concerned with the NAVSURFs shooting at it.
With how bad the AI is, it is desperately needed. I think multiplayer should be a top priority, that would make War on the Sea one of the best competitive naval strategy games out there. Surely it would benefit its growth.

I wish they let us manage ammo internally within a fleet between like sized guns. But I guess that would bring about rearming flottas and mess with balance or something
Does anyone know if this game models the drop-off in accuracy if too many ships are firing at the same target? Due to the inability of each ship being able to see where their specific shells are landing? I was just wondering since I noticed sometimes he'll have 3 or 4 ships firing at the same target which normally you probably shouldn't do. But if the game doesn't model it then I guesss it doesn't matter.
Could you try air attacks from ahead or astern of the target more often? I think better chance of hit, and anti air guns that can target aircraft at same time is halved
it works very well for strafing, since shots that go long tend to still hit the target. Plus if the target is already afire forward or aft, you can strafe from the other direction and have a good chance to set new fires on unburned compartments. It's a good way to overwhelm the AI damage control. With dive bombing and skip bombing, it's just hard to hit DDs no matter what. They're too small and they turn too quickly. If you were to micromanage the attack and manually navigate the planes to the right position before you issue the actual attack order, the DD would be less likely to twist away. But that level of micro for one section of planes in a complex battle might not be everyone's idea of fun gaming.
@@LoneWolf-kz5bo Nah it was just something I noticed pretty fast on his first night engagement, and was wondering if he he just forgot or had other reasons.
It would be cool but after Guadalcanal, the Japanese were very much on the defense. Maybe a Philippine Island campaign could work? It was one of the last warship vs warship theater.
I like how wolf said he wouldn't cheese it with submarines and B17s but decided to cheese it with A20 strafing runs lol. Not complaining just making an observation.
Do you think it's more important to build a nearby port to level 3, or to build up an airbase? Sending fleets all the way home for ammo is such a pain.
I guess I am not too bothered by sending my fleets home. Right now I think an airfield is the most important however a level 3 port would be a nice quality of life thing.
I don't want to sound bad but maybe you should also consider for Guadalcanal having a seaport. This way you can actually rearm the ships a little bit more often and keep them over Target better. Maybe a level 3 or level four seaport and a level 4 or level 5 airfield that would definitely give you everything you need to punish these bastards with.
That bombing was pretty bad but on the other hand the strafing was excellent. Next time maybe strafe first then bomb and see if that brings the score up faster.
@Wolkfpack345 Could you do a video on your mod set up? I'm using what I think are the same but man, I get non stop spam attacks from single groups of enemy planes and it just seems to be 10000% more engagements than I see you get into on your videos, or do you just edit them all out? It's a little repetitive having to deal with 30+ enemy plane attacks on my Task Force in a span of 5 minutes. Thanks in advance!
Are rockets still disgustingly good against destroyers in the Tokyo Express mod? 4 Avengers with rockets can sink a destroyer in one pass ~50% of the time in the vanilla game, it's far more effective than dive bombing them.
Cleveland class are NOT heavy cruisers. They're Light Cruisers; 6" guns. And under. The Atlanta class, with their 5" guns, were also light cruisers. Heavy Cruisers had 8" guns. It's the size of the guns that determined if a cruiser was Light or Heavy. Nothing else! Some Light Cruisers had more armor than Heavy Cruisers! That didn't matter. They were classified solely by the size of their guns.
In the new TTE update the makers decided that you have to go and release/repair your carrier to resupply it with aircraft. You will get your command points back after it gets released into the pool. ( Usually takes about 3 days) then you can either get your carrier back or just get another ship.
I still don't get why you haven't tried all the different ordnances on the planes yet to be honest on different ship attacks available nor different attacks or formations that I see are available in your choice's!?
Muzzle flashes already give you away though, and god forbid if you catch fire in the dead of night. Searchlights would be used to search for and pinpoint the enemy when you need to find them sneaking about and identify them. The next function of the searchlights would be to continually blind the enemy optics, making it a pain to get a bead on your range. Try staring at a flashlight for 10 minutes and see what it does to your vision. If the enemy has radar though then the searchlights are useless at the blinding part, but the IJN didn't have radar. All this being said though, yes you are right if YOU don't have a light on you and your friend does, that does give you free market to start blasting away lol. Its all risk-reward really.
