I really do enjoy your 'storytelling' method and immersion method of describing your let's play videos. I don't even play the game, but faithfully watch for the next cliffhanger!
@@Wolfpack345 I downloaded it after watching your series, been on a big Naval game binge recently. U-Boat especially and went to your videos to help me learn Destroyer The U-Boat Hunter and my gameplay got a LOT better due to your videos. Learned a LOT
The aft hit at the screws would have popped the shaft seales flooding her engines the one centered below her keel would have broke her back and may have opened her cross compartment bulkheads! Dead bubbleheads yaaaaa! I served on a FF (Fast Frigate) out of Japan in the 70's we were ASW screen for CV-41 USS MIDWAY. Our motto was "we catch torpedoes for the heavies" or kill the senders before they get close.
As a bubblehead, I resent your comment, Skimmer. Or should I say, "target?" I've always hated "Fast Frigate." It's just "frigate." It's not "Clunking Cruiser", or "Big Battleship." Just teasing, mate. It's all the same water. I spent Thanksgiving in Yokosuka in '95. That's all of Japan I ever saw. I had a coworker who was an ST aboard a Knox class in the '80's. I have a current coworker who was a GSE aboard a Perry, IIRC. I did always like the looks of the Perrys.
Generally I send my bombers and dive bombers into a target in a large formation, and when they near i shift click any given formation and click attack, so they approach their target individually, and have a greater chance of attaining hits. Ive found torpedo bombers have a better hit rate if they remain in vic formation through their attack run, laying a screen of torpedos.
Finally you gave the Japanese a taste of their own medicine by taking out their airfield when they tried several times to knock out one of yours. But you didn't loose any ships doing it as they did. Awesome series, sad that it will soon come to an end.
The bombing situation is a puzzle. Are the misses because of holding formation or different altitudes better for different planes? We need to war college that one.
What I've found is attack vector/angle/formation can all improve accuracy. Attack from port or starboard with Vic/box formation. If you are attacking less mobile vessels attacking head on with line formations works very well.
@@gelatinoussire7772 To be fair, it's not so much it makes them less OP, they're still broke as Hell even in formation. I'm under the impression it's for immersion, because dive bombers usually worked in groups before the drop.

@@jwrockets Perhaps. The Japanese seem to have a lot of ships left. I don't think it would be ill-advised to do so, especially since he's crippling their air operations in the area. He has a fair few transports and tankers, I can't imagine it would take a really long time.
@@jwrockets It took me about 2-3 in-game weeks, as long as you trade/limit losses, you'll be fine. It is a big help to have Rennel as a resupply port for ammunition and stuff. It takes, depending in the speed of the force, 4-6 days to resupply and return to the AO.

Turn in with DD's on torpedoes never give them your rudder or screws to mess up. Protect your engineering spaces. If you steer away from the contact you offer them reload time and maneuver time.
It's strange because first I was bored to tears by it, but this is the third series of this game I saw a majority of, I think the narration made me come around to it.
Oh man, that sub captain must have had one sake too much trying to torpedo a swarm of DDs just like that. This is what Yamato Spirit overdose does to a man!

If these vital reinforcements and supply don't get through, Henderson field will be lost."-Mission 4 US Battlestations Pacific. I saw the title and this instantly started playing in my head.
I got to be brutally honest, at first I was almost about to buy this game. But watching this playthrough I'm going to be holding off. Watching the AI act unbelievably incompetent sending fleet after fleet at a pointless naval base, watching you obliterate the enemy fleets with practically no losses, having some of the game mechanics make no sense such as having an infinite number of land based aircraft, and the more silly moments really put me off. I'm going to continue to watch and keep an eye on this game though, hoping either the game or mod devs make improvements. Maybe even add more features such as crew experience. I really hope the AI gets better.
7:30 whit the sub. almost all subs in WW2 would prefer to run whit there diesel engine above water they was faster had better spotting chance (could be easier spotted so dubble edged sword). when a sub dives it drives on the electric engine and that got a limited range before its empty and need to be recharged on the surface whit the diesel engine. so a sub in WW2 was only bellow surface if it 1 needed to avoid enemy (destroyers and planes) or was about to attack/ sneak up on someone.

I need at least a level 3 port to resupply. It would take a while to build that up and I think the airfield is more important right now. Going back to the New Hebrides is just a minor inconvenience anyways. It's much of an issue.

I wonder if this would be a good time to build a port at Rennel Island so you don't have to go so far to rearm your ships.

Maybe once I have a level 5 airfield. The trip to the New Hebrides is just a minor inconvenience.
Hello!
I have a question, how can planes that take off from carriers be replaced after they have been shot?
Have to return to a port that is high enough in level to replenish lost aircraft on a Carrier!
Can the medium/heavy bombers be used to strike enemy ports/airfields?
No you can't. Would be cool though! Although I could see there being balancing issues with importation.
