Emmet's smile is infectious. He looks like he is having a blast. I can not only see it, I can hear it in the music. I end up sitting here with a big smile on my face, too. Great to see Randy Brecker. But, kudos to everybody. It feels like a night spent with friends.
Totally agree. The warmth and cameraderie at Emmet's Place is just so joyful and wholesome every time. They make me feel like I've dropped in on family (a very talented one!) :)

Hi Meira A. Not Canadian Sunset nor Stella. This tune is on one of my vinyls; think it's a quintet either Clifford Brown, Horace Silver or Art Blakey? I thought the bassist was playing the intro for Elvis' "Don't be Cruel" which is four notes, while Canadian Sunset's is only three! Thank you for the info.
It's probably Horace Silver's "The Back Beat" from the album "The Stylings of Silver".

Nothing like hearing a great trio when they're locked into one another like Emmet's trio is. The interplay between piano, bass and drums is just soul stirring. These cats take a back seat to no one.
