- Good for up to 3.5 to 4 lbs of shrimp!
Now you can make Boiling crab's The Whole Sha-bang seasoned seafood in the comfort of your home! This step-by-step guide is easy to follow and is extremely close to the real thing. Your friends and family will be so impressed!
I live in Louisiana, and instead of putting shrimp in lemon water put the shrimp directly into the cajun mixture and cook. Than take the lemon and squeeze over or serve beside the dish. You will find the shrimp is juicer and taste better and the flavor is off the chain. try it!
that's what I was saying, especially since the skin is still on
Yes, good day
felicia b. They made an easy thing very hard and laborious. They're probably not really food people just people trying for RUclips fame. The words and the instructions weren't those any who really cooks would use.
felicia b. Thank we will try this next time.
felicia b. would you mine telling me how you cook your and what ingredients you use. so far I've only seen this recipe and tried it.
I have used this recipe 4x already and it is DELICIOUS! It tastes just like Boiling Crab. Whoever is thinking about making this, you won't regret it! Thank you for posting this recipe :)
Any suggestions.... i just tried it and its really salty
Hugo Mexicano did you use unsalted butter?
If not then that’s probably why.
And also make sure that you are using Salt-Free Lemon Pepper.
Let me know how that works out instead! (:
jennyxnguyen is it really spicy
Thanks for confirming it’s good Omw to the grocery store rn!
@@hugo8357able you have to use unsalted butter
I made this recipe a few times already and is divine i tweeked it a bit though. I added onion powder garlic powder and mustard powder too. Also squeezed a lemon in the sauce. I didnt boil the shrimp in water either. I tossed them in the sauce. Simmered for about 8 minutes and they were perfect. Tastes exactly like boiling crab
serafin Ugalde does the lemon help make it less salty?
Measurements please??
Yes,, but how can we make it less salty??....
@@rafaelmontanez715 add more sugar

I watched this video 8yrs ago when it first uploaded, and I love this recipe, it was the best I have ever tried. 8yrs later now, I’m still able to find it, watch again ,and most importantly, I still love it the best.
Thanks for sharing. Unbelievable, I just left an 8 yrs late comment.
Glad you enjoyed it so much! Cheers!
@@wyldeslash2003 I was so sad earlier that I could not find your video again. Now, I saved it, and want to say a thank you:)…
If you guys are wondering about the sugar, the sugar makes the spices stick to the shrimp or crab on the outside to keep that spicy flavor going
thank you!
D
awesome. good looking out
Thank you
Huh.. Thanks for the info. :)
This technique is 100x better than what I’ve seen on RUclips. It’s so underrated. Parboiling the shrimp and cooking in batches is key here.
All I’m going to say is WOWWWWWW! I’ve made this recipe like 5x now. I invited a few of my family members and they were so impressed. Little do they know that this recipe is super easy, THANK YOU!
Been using this recipe for a good 2-3 years now. So yummy! I only use 1 tablespoon of each spice and I cook the shrimp in the sauce for 7-8 mins. Half way through, stir it and bam ready to eat. So good!
Who’s watching this because your stuck at home due to Covid-19.
Ravetrix 😂
HELL YEA !! 🦐
Thought it was just me 😅
It’s me 😂🤣
Yes😂
Just wanted to stop by and say thank you for posting this recipe. It taste just like boiling crab. I live in San Francisco and the closet one to me is 40 mins away. Bc of your video no longer need to travel there and wait 2 hrs. Thanks again!
I too live almost an hour away, and the location in Dallas is so small, yet ALWAYS so crowded! it sucks!
LFindable yes the 1 in dallas stays crowded, but i eat there everyday when im in dtown, i havent been to pappadeux since.lol
it is definitely worth the wait, just a little impatient watching other people digging in haha
Yeah thats the worse part,lol
I used brown sugar and oh my gosh it was a hit! Tasted just like the boiling 🦀
Yes! I also use brown sugar in my recipe 😜
Best shrimp ever thanks
I just did exactly like your recipe and it came out amazing thank you so much
You have to enjoy this dish with people who aren't squeamish, picky eaters. I hate eating dinner with people who complain about heads being on the shrimp. Thanks for this excellent recipé.
I love this video and recipe!!!! I started making shrimp with this sauce for about a year and my family can't eat shrimp unless I use my recipe.I love it and wouldn't eat it any other way.....
Wow I e been doing this video since 2013. Love this recipe
Hi, thanks for this recipe! I made this 3 times in the past 2 weeks - so good! I was craving Boiling Crab in Las Vegas so I decided to try it. I was impressed! I made a few changes the second time around - I cut all the spices down (except Old Bay Seasoning and Lemon Pepper) to 1 tablespoon. It was a little too spicy for me when I added 2 tablespoons. I love the heads and legs! Thanks again!
It took me 2 years to find this specific recipe 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 found it omg i was looking for it for the longest !
Enjoy!
I have made this 4 times already...my fiance and I love it!
How spicy is it ?
Not spicy at all
I'm doing this right now can't wait 😋😋😋
Thanks for the recipe. I've prepared this sauce multiple times already and I love it every time. For those wondering whether its spicy, it is. So if you don't like spicy food or in-your-face flavors, try something else.
Love the Boiling Crab shrimps. Thank you so much for the recipe! Gotta try it soon!!
I'm from New Orleans and haven't seen shrimp cooked like this, but it does look like a great recipe that I'll be trying real soon! Thanks for the video.
I been using this recipe for years . Ty
I tried making this recipe and followed your instructions to make it mild and it tasted great! I used 1 tbsp. of each seasoning and it was fine. Thanks for sharing! You're awesome! =)
This recipe is amazing we couldn't believe how amazing the shrimp taste!...
This is a great recipe for the taste but when I first made it, the sauce would be really "grainy" due to all the spices. It was also on the saltier side. To make the sauce slightly thicker and to get rid of the "graininess", take a cup of the boiled shrimp water and add 3 tbsp of cornstarch mix the water and cornstarch and then mix it into the sauce. I did it while the shrimp was already in the sauce so I just stirred it over low heat for a few minutes and it did dissolve the spices and thickened the sauce! It didn't dilute the taste! Good luck!
I dit it too and it was great
I’ve made this so many times and every time I do, it comes out better and better!
Nicole Salais is it spicy for 3 pounds. ?????? Please
Arwa Saleh yes definitely but I like the spiciness
Thanks alot me to I like extra spicy but Am gonna make it tomorrow for my friends some of them they don’t like spicy food . Am thinking about divide the shrimp into spicy and non spicy .. thanks alot
Love this video have followed receipe 5 times. Its delicious!
Just went to Boiling Crab this afternoon with my daughter... one of my favorite joints! Trust, I am going to try this at home for sure! Thanks for sharing!
I love Boiling Crab! Check out my recipe 😊
Where the hell is the LOVE button???
HEHE, you mean on you, or on crabs ?
Lemon Fresh ❤️
I just made this tonight for dinner....and added corn and potatoes...everyone loved it! It was so good!!!
was it salty? with all those seasoning
Hi and thanks for asking. I don't use water instead I cover with a tight fitting pot lid and let the pot produce the liquid. But before I add the seasoning to the seafood so that the seasoning can cook with the seafood to achieve Optimum flavor. please don't over cook your seafood and try letting it soak or marinade in their juices for and few minutes (about 10 minutes) before serving. Happy Eating!
Thank you for the recipe. I’ve made this recipe numerous times because my family loves it! My husband said that it’s better than boiling crab :)
Looks like a great shrimp recipe! I just boiled up some shrimp over the weekend!

Just made this. Came out very tasty! Spicy!
Yes yesss i have to try this thank you!
Born and raised in Louisiana! Been in Arizona for 7 yrs and this by far is the best and easiest way to do seafood just like back home! Must say my mouth watered the entire video! Thank you so much for this!! ❤️
Can you put the ingredients in the description please? If not that’s fine, thanks.
Thank you for this recipe and video I made it exactly how you made it and it came out so good I make it pretty often. Thanks again I enjoyed very much
I need the recipe. My hearing is bad & the video goes too fast to get everything.
The best recipe hands down!
Just cooked this it's pretty dead on. Was really happy with it. Had to add garlic powder 2tbs., 1 lemon grass along with the lemon to the boiling water , but other than that it came out great. Better than the online site copycat recipes
ifl77sf everyone have they one way , don't give a shitt, idiot .period !!!
Never tasted boiling crab but my kids saw this video and wanna try the shrimp. Thanks😍
This recipe is for New Orleans style Bbq shrimp. To Boiled crawfish you do need plenty water. Salt, cayenne pepper, (plenty) garlic, onions, celery! Smoke sausage, potatoes, corn, mushrooms, lemons. And a big container of seasoning boil for seafood Like Zatarains Seafood Boil. And for the special guest to the party crawfish, shrimp, crabs or lobster. This would be better cooked in a crawfish boiling pot but can be done on a stove top, just adjust your ingredients for your pot size. never throw out your boing liquid until you have finished, it can be refreshed by adding more seasoning and it taste better. This is considered liquid gold! After boiling always let your seafood soak about 20 minutes before pulling it out of the boiling water or your seafood will not absorb enough taste. I hope this help! Happy Eating! Enjoy!
Thanks... I did it... Everyone loved it... 💖💖💖
why am i watching this at 3am????
I kno right

Ohhh wow ... Super easy and delicious thank you for Sharing ..! 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼 love it .
If it tastes good, who cares how people in a certain City/State normally cook their shrimp or any other food. As long as it tastes good! That's why everybody has a tongue with taste buds. What you like, another person might not. But guess what?? Life goes on!! SMH People always wanna argue about what they do like it's better. Well do you dammit!!! Make your own food video if you don't like what you see!
Stfu your ignorance is showing 🤔🤔🤔
Best and most complete recipes I've seen
Hi, I want to try this, but I have a question, why is the water white ? Did you add something in it ? Thank you and keep going !
I think its lemon water
Omg I made this today when I tell you delicious. This is a keeps for my family
Okay, I'll try this one. I live in Thailand, so I had to search high and low for them Old Bay spices, and they have only the little tiny teensy weensy bottles of it, I had to buy three of them-hope that'd be enough.
Awesome! Let me know how it goes!
+wyldeslash2003 Oh everybody loves it, I had to make it again a few days after that day.
+WaywardWerewolf you should try and buy it from amazon.com t
You should purchase it from Amazon.com maybe
WaywardWerewolf you can find them in Asian markets.
I love this recipe! It's so good. 🥰💖thank you so much.
Would I save more time i I cooked the shrimp in the sauce?
You would save more money
+Katlynn Stodghill
Yes but, use a lower temp while cooking
Thank you!! my Ohana love your recipe!! Aloha.
I tried cooking lemon with peel and it got really bitter.
I'm Vietnamese, in Asian we don't put lemon in hot sauce when you're still cooking, it's make it taste bitter.
We use pineapple to sauce to make it more sweet without using sugar (even in restaurant they using this trick too).
I use alots garlic, garlic blend so well with seafood. It's not just taste yummy but also is healthy!!!
Next time, when you finish cooking then put lemon on & use pineapple or pineapple in sauce when you're cooking, it's taste so good, sweet, smell good. If you want more sweet then you more pineapple, if you just want blend the sweet & bitter, salt then use a fews piece of pineapple
(I don't speak English well, I hope this help you)
Boiling Cajun crawfish & shrimps is win, seafood always taste better than any daily meat, chickens.
This recipe is going to be on my bucket list loved it
And now that you have all the ingredients , check your blood pressure, sugar levels and dont forget the tums and pepto bismol
manny cabal Why are you even watching this if that's what you care about.
🤣🤣🤣you made me audibly laugh dude🤣🤣🤣
You must have a chik stomach... tums and pepto... #ThatTimeOfTheMonth
Must not be a southern boi!
I'm trying this today and I can't wait!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
think my butter keeps burning should i turn the heat down???
Sheila Ayotte yup! its just need a low simmer so be sure all the spices break down well..
Make sure it's not an aluminum pot also there is a big heat differential with an electronic and gas stove. Gas is more even. Over all you need a lot that has a well coated non stick shell
+Sheila "LiLsheshe" Ayotte err it should be on medium heat
Lol I'm with you...
Lol I'm with you...
Delicious thank you for showing me how to make this. Fantastic fantastic
why not put raw shrimp in sauce and cook it that way?
all that juice from the shrimp even better in the sauce
Tried your recipe. It was like having boiling crab at home...It was delicious! Thank you!
Recepie is very good, but you should have gotten rid of the music. Thank u
I love it thank u so much for easy recipes I made them today had some with garlic noodles yummy
that is soooo NOT how we do shrimp in down here in Louisiana!!!!! That must be how YANKEES do it.. we bring the water to a boil with crawfish/crab boil, garlic, onions, lemons, potatoes, mushrooms, sausage, etc.. then we put the shrimp in it!! we dont boil shrimp in plain lemon water then put them in a "sauce" lol WOW!!!!!!
Good to know.
This recipe is based on a very, VERY popular restaurant in California, Boiling Crab. It’s based on a Vietnamese style of seasoning, I believe. They use the word “Louisiana” as sort of an adjective, so yes, I agree with you. This isn’t how you make real Louisiana style shrimp. I highly recommend trying this out though. it is absolutely delicious. Or maybe you can find a “Boiling Crab” near you in the future. It is well worth the wait!
*****
I think Boiling Crab is actually kind of a Vietnamese-Cajun fusion sort of thing.
***** What if I just like the rajun cajun flavor from BC. Do I simply omit the lemon pepper? Or do I change anything else? Thanks
hi John can you show how you do it the right way thanks
Thank you very much. This was the only video I found that was very specific with how how long I should keep it in. I've noticed that in all the videos I've watched, there can be different mixtures of the spices and flavors. Which is probably what I like most about Cajun seafood.
OKAY SO HERE IS MY REVIEW.
I followed the recipe exactly, and i didNOT like the final results. The butter, basically FRIED the seasonings. After about 15 minutes, the seasoning thickened.. okay no biggie. I kept stirring as the recipe said. I turned off the mixture at about 25 minutes. It wasnt burned per-se but there was this slightly mild charcoal esque taste to it. The seasoning was this thick and black and burned looking but my house didnt smell of something burned. This is after cooking it on med heat, which I decided to simmer after 15 minutes. The presentation was not appealing. It was like rolling the shrimp around in black greasy soil. I didnt like it at all. My husband said that it was okay (i think that he was trying to let me down easy), but i know what good cajun shrimp look/tastes like. If i made it over, i would definitely not set it on the stove for 30 minutes...more like 10-15 minutes tops, because when your finish cooking it, the butter is so hot that it still cooks the seasoning. I give it 2 stars...and im being nice.
+Isha Ahmon i really hope you realize that youre giving youself 2 stars. This recipe is great, mind you there should have been a disclaimer bringing to light that if you cant cook, then youre bound to fuck this dish up lol Keep on trucking and try again babygirl.
+Puro Oro Nope you try again... That shit was *TERRIBLE*...and btw i actually can cook, thats how i know that the infusion of spices cooking for *30 MINUTES IN BUTTER*... was a bad idea. I followed their instruction to a tee, and even went against my own judgement, just to do what they did. If you read though these comments, you see that im not the only one who ended up with thick nasty black butter-fried seasoning that look like wet soil. Others have either complained about it, like i have, or they changed up the recipe bc they know that this recipe isnt right. I know what Cajun shrimp taste like, and this shit isnt it.... Now if they missed adding a step in the video- that they did- then thats not my fault that this mess came out nasty af
+Isha Ahmon
well how come the video didn't end up like yours?
+Puro Oro 😂😂😂
Asha Ahmon the same thing happened to me!!!
Just made this!! Thank you so much for sharing 😊
I can't eat my shrimp like that. I can't look at he legs and head, those need to be removed before I can eat them. Thier little legs are creepy and make my skin crawl.
fuckking idiot
You won't survive if the government put you on an island alone for a week.
David Dougall hahaahahah LOVE your comment :P
CandyBannanaHaze Most of the flavor is in the shell. Bye Felicia!
we can definitely tell who truly knows about and how to cook seafood right... and who doesn't. You Have to keep the shell and head on to lock in the flavor... LMBO the "Bye Felicia"
Tried this last night!! So delicious!! But to Anyone who doesn’t like too much spice lay off a little of the cayenne pepper. My sister said it was too hot but I loved it!
i live in Louisiana and no one but no one cooks shrimp like this ,, sorry
+sophia Riley gyy
it's like french fries, they didn't come from France.
+tom green I think the boiling crab restaurants are a cajun/asian fusion
+Indigo B I'm from Louisiana as well. New Orleans to be exact. I don't know any Asian seafood places that make shrimp like this and I've been to pretty much all of them. This is my opinion, this style is more from California. Even Texas has their own way of making boiled shrimp/crawfish. I always laugh when people say "Cajun seasoning."
However, the "whole shabang" is almost similar to what we call "BBQ shrimp," but no one in Louisiana will just boil their shrimp separate from the actual flavor.
Tried this recipe and took felicia b.'s advice to cook the shrimp in the butter. Amazing results! Delicious enough where my wife couldn't tell the difference between mines and boiling crabs. Great video! Definitely doing this one for the holidays.
Still using this process today!
Thank you so much for the upload, you’ve done a great Public Service!
It’s 1am and now I want this!! I need to go to bed. 😆
Oh my!!! I tried and this recipe is so delicious!!!!!!!!! U have to try if u r a seafood lover! Thank you!!
I love Boiling Crab, so Im going to make it! Thank you.
Imma going to Boiling Crab tomorrow. I'm so drooling......
I made this for my kids and hubby and they loved it!! Thank you for the recipe. If your planning on making it try it!!!!
I made this a few days ago at a gathering & my friends loved it! So did I. Thanks for the recipe!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS RECIPE!!!!!! MADE IT TWICE N 2 WKS. HUBBY KEEPS ASKIN FOR MORE.....THNX FOR SHARING.
I have lived in New Orleans all my life. This is pretty much how we make BBQ Shrimp. The difference is we boil the shrimp in crab boil (the pouch, not the liquid) and we add onions and bay leaf to the sauce. Folks, it doesn't get any better than that. And yes, you leave the shells on.
Looks amazing. Easy steps to follow!!
I just tried this with a ribeye and baked potato this recipe is awesome
I've used this recipe a dozen times and love it. The only disclaimer that's critical to share is DO NOT COOK SAUCE FOR 30 MINUTES. IT WILL 100000% BURN. I would recommend 10-15 minutes max.
Another thing I've considered doing is cooking the shrimp in the sauce. It's unclear to me the value of of cooking it in boiling water beforehand. Would love to hear if anyone has any thoughts about this.
This looks legit!!! I can't wait to try it in a few! Thanks for sharing!👌
i love the whole shrimp! yummy recipe thanks friend : )
My god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can smell the garlic and love through my screen.
I used your recipe today and it was hella good !!!
