mine is a 1 gen Radpower Radwagon w/ more or less 'dual sport' tires, MtB handlebars & crankset. the E-assist is used sparingly but is no problem charging w/ my off grid solar system. It has 1700 miles on the odometer & is used regularly to haul water from a windmill 1 mile away on dirt road & singletrack. I've only just changed brake pads & the plastic fenders are worse for have dog leashes caught in them. otherwise the bike is chugging along good as new.

My workhorse is an old Trek 930 Singletrack I rescued from the landfill. I added a Deore groupset , Blackburn racks, 1.95 Serfas Drifters, and Northroadish bars. It's my steel mule...Does everything, hauls most everything and has spontaneity despite the weight. There's no means to haul kids but I bet it could be done.

We have a Tern GSD and it is our go everywhere commuter, grocery shopper, kid hauler. A little bit bigger than a utility bike but not a full long tail cargo. Thousands of miles over the past three years and it has held up to everything we’ve thrown at it. They’re super popular here in San Francisco. In fact took the kid to a birthday party today and there were three of them (and a rad power) long tail. One thing I would say is that for this kind of bike make sure it has hydraulic disk brakes. That stopping power is essential for such precious (and often heavy) cargo.

Just built me a Winter bike.
Its a 1992 Specialized CrossRoads, in dark metallic green. Picked it up for the price of a regular meal for two.
Removed the extremely heavy 3x chaing set, swapped out for a 1x narrow/wide ching ring with deore crankset, LX rear derailleur & a nice pair of black LX canties, XT headset. Pretty much all parts from the parts bin tbh.
Tyres are, Continental Double Fighters III - 29 X 2.0. Bars are butterfly touring bars, jurys still out on those tho!
I love riding it, thats all that matters.

Also fond of bringing my son to school by bike . a dream bike to do this and all other things is either a Surly skid loader or a Bullitt cargo bike but both aren't available here in the Philippines. Right now me and my son do this with a front seat (which is too small for him already ) on my old mammoth fat bike. It does the job for now but hopefully we could get something better soon.
Besides that I have a Brompton which is extremely useful in my daily ride to work, a Specialized hard rock which is my all rounder and a vintage toad bike that I don't get to use that much cause of some problems with the brakes.
I really enjoy your content mate. Hope to see more biking with your kids videos soon. Much love from the PH!

Gosh I'd love to have their engwe e26 loaded up with that front rack. Although the rear lookin a bit short and don't want my kids to faceplant my bum all the time. Regarding both prices I find that e26 a better option also being a bit bigger probably a little bit smoother to ride with the bigger wheels. It's going to replace my workhorse moped.. sick and tired of the maintenance costs, fuel and insurance costs. Within 1 yr this will earn itself back

I got this thing for project bikes, I'm currently on an old Apollo Avio 21" 10speed (which I think might be a 98) that I take for some real long journeys..
It's 2x5 but I kind really like the simplicity of just high & low up fron so I got a better 2x crank set as a little upgrade and love it lol😆 doing a 50mile run soon and planning a 100mile on it after lol.
I also have a 03 Scott voltage YZ3 that's got the dad's bike gear on (seats ect..) and the kids love it... What I'd really love to get my hands on tho is nice old GT, always wanted one but never got one... By the way absolutely loved the back to the future gunblue bike, yours definitely came out better than my attempt of a full gunblued frame, anyway, loved the vid, keep up the content 😁👍

I currently have 3 bikes: a ZiZZO Liberté folding bike, Giant Escape Hybrid & a late '80s Cadex CFM2.
The ZiZZO gets the most use, as it's very light & nimble, and can pack a few things back from the shops on the rear pannier.
The Escape is my workhorse, with panniers, and a modified trailer.
The Cadex is my weight weenie bike, with a 1 x 9 Deore drivetrain, and the usual weight weenie nonsense.

Just found your channel. How's the l20 holding up? I'm leaning towards it over the ado a20f beast which claims more torque but has some concerning issues on Facebook groups. Unfortunately the l20 seems sold out most places with cycle 2 work.

I have the L20 and the M20. They both get alot of attention from the public. The L20 is awesome. It goes everywhere I want it to. I have an adult size seat on the back rack. And it handles the extra weight with no issues. I like the M20 better though. It's faster, and gets way more attention. The only downside is that I need a backpack if I want to take any cargo. Upgrades in the works

We just picked up an e bike for this same thing! We went with the surly skid loader and love it. Having a dual leg kick stand is nice for when I'm loading up my daughter, and it has a dropper in it so my wife and I can share the bike without having to move the seat up and down even with her being a lot shorter than me.

We get these fat tire 20" chinese ebikes all the time at my bike shop and they are an absolute NIGHTMARE to work on. Theres only like, 3 tires you can get for em, tubes are always the wrong size, the wheels are ridiculously heavy and theyre always getting flats because the tires and tubes are not rated for the kind of loads they're being subjected to.
Buyer beware, if you get one of these, and you take it to your local bike shop, they will probably turn you away. So be prepared to do any work to them yourself. Just remember they are SUPREMELY heavy.

    • @catherinecunningham1811

I'd love something like this but think 2" wheels would be adequate for my needs, not much off roading possibilities around here - on another review, someone had changed out for 3" street tyres, would those be easier to work on?
