  • TBWA's new manifesto about the importance of creating brave work, inspired by the pioneering spirit of Jay Chiat and the agency’s disruption philosophy. The film, centered on the provocation “Don’t do the right thing,” is a rallying cry aimed at TBWA employees and the industry as a whole, including clients - a reminder that to make truly breakthrough work we must embrace risk.

Thank you for this manifesto. I'm impressed by how TBWA always work with this determination and spirit, like real pirates in every piece they create. I'm a proud retired pirate. Two thumbs up, dear collective!

Lee Clow is a genius. He has shaped so much of the way that I view ads. Here's are some tips that I have about copywriting under his influence.

Thanks for creating and posting the video.
My name is Junichi Kawaminami. I am Professor of Doshisha Business School, teaching Marketing Communications.
I would appreciate your advice for two things. I think it would be great if you can put Japanese subtitles to the video. I have my translated version of it and I can send it to you in the closed caption data format for you to upload on to the video if that is something you think would be good.
I used to work for Apple Japan when they ran the Think different campaign, and I worked with Ken Segall to localize the campaign for the Japanese market (and spoke with Lee a few times in meetings as well). Please let me know if this is something you are interested. Of course you have a Japanese copy writers who can do the Japanese version of this. I will be happy to help/work with you so that they don't have to start from scratch but to refine it.

Seriously? Your manifesto is a Bukowski-a-like? Do ad companies ever have an original idea?

@@_plastikman I'm sure you and your FOUR followers have great influence in the world. Meanwhile plagiarism is still plagiarism. These ad company pastiches are quite sad really, fantastic images wrapped in BS.
