I agree with everything you say in your review, Doc. The two big things for me are the graphics popping in and the quality of the textures on the distant hills. I love this game even with its faults. The best advice I could give to newcomers is: Do not turn off aids too early or go too fast in the beginning. Learn how your bikes handle and be prepared to crash a lot! Oh, and enjoy the game.
100% agree dude, the quality can really drop in the hills and the texture pop in I think that’s a solid bit of advice mate 🔥 Enjoying the game is the most important bit 😁
lol yeah the "free to download Google earth satellite photo's" is a real laughing stock of this game. I do really like this game though compared to the first ones. Love learning the tracks and the physics are really good. The bike feels and looks well connected to the tarmac, way better in that aspect than ride 4. Just hope they patch the draw distance and pop in, really distracting.
Wow, free roam and real roads?!? I'll never leave that mode, that's something I really, really miss from bike games, all bike games actually, especially the Ride-series. All games are about racing... which is fine, of course, but we got Motogp and SBK for that. We have Ride, which has a ton of street bikes - but no streets to actually ride them on. Just races, and racetrack-like roads. But the best part of actally owning a bike in real life is to go out and ride it. Go to the mountains, to the seashore (if your country has those features of course ;) ), pass most cars like they were pedal-driven toys, that feeling. Here, we have race bikes only, which is bad for this, but at least we can ride them not on 100% all the time, which is cool. I'd love to experience that in games: when you're not required to run, everywhere, everytime...
@@DrAce46 no, because there's no "usable" ones. But imagine... Having a cool open world, with or without traffic (as a chooseable option), and a selection of bikes (or cars), with good physics... For cars we had TDUs, Forza Horizons, Crews, etc, for bikes.... Nothing. And those car-games were "meh" when it comes to physics. And many more aspects as well. Yet... I wish they made the next Ride game to include open roads, traffic, and freeroam. Races, too, but not ONLY races. It won't have of course, they'll just re-skin ride 4's bikes, a few bits here and there a few new tracks and that'll be it. Shame. Until somebody comes up with what I'd like, TT3's freeroam seems to be the closer to it. And of course I'll buy Ride 5, too.... :D There are not many usable bike games out there, gotta be happy with the few we actually have... Nevertheless, I won't stop dreamin' ;)
I love this game and have already played 300 hours. It's by far the best motorcycle simulation I've ever played. The graphics might not be state-of-the-art, but the tracks are incredibly detailed and the physics engine is spot on. The technical challenges, especially on the Isle of Man TT track, are unmatched in any other motorcycle simulation game. The realistic physics engine and attention to detail make every ride feel authentic. Compared to other motorcycle sims, this game offers a far more immersive and realistic experience
I give the game a score of 7,5 ...it's absolutely good ( the best of the TT IOM games) but it has not the quality of Ride 4. Sometimes the frame rate slows a bit on PS5 in fast corners and as you say we can't create our own player and that's a missing point!!
I love this game but recently I did some races around the middle left of the map and the hill textures are over the road in many sections. The AI just floats over it but it makes me crash. It's very bad. Have you experienced this. I'm on PS5 BTW.
@@DrAce46 I'm hoping it just needed a restart. It happened last night. It was very strange. The AI just floated over it about 4 feet of the ground. Sent me flying. I was trying the difficulty with AI on 100%. I will upload the footage and tag you if it happens again. Thanks for the quick response.

Thanks for the review
I had my first encounter with the gear issue. It wouldn’t go away for my latest video. Had to just use automatic gears.
I like the handling and rider animations but as you say the texture pop in is really ugly. Thanks bud
Great review mate 👏
Cheers BG!
I have none of the problems you describe/show, 4K 60Hz everything maxed.
R7 5700X RX 6800.
You're not getting any texture pop at all?
I'm using a 5950X and a 6900XT for reference. Nice GPU by the way 🔥
The physics look strange to me and the sensation of speed doesn't quite match Ride 4. I'm not sure about this one...
It may not look fast via the video but I can tell you it feels fast :)
Enjoying the game but not being able to chase my (a) ghost is huge for me. I cannot get over this.
I’ve never been a fan of the ghost but it’s a feature that should be in the game
I must buy this game on PS5
You must!
If possible, it would be nice to see bike set-up videos from yourself. As some of us noobs need a bit of guidance. 😉As do many others I'm sure.
I’ll be honest mate, I don’t tend to change any of the bike setups. I haven’t done so far at least 😂
@@DrAce46 Ok, 🙂
Some things I think is normal for a new game, obviously need be fixed....
From all I watched from you game looks very nice.
I liked 1 and don't liked version 2....
It’s nice but just has some flaws 👍🏻
I am disappointed to see you can't make your own custom rider. I would love the ability to play as "me" instead of some random dude.
Agreed, it would have been nice to make our own
The hole thing is Manx fan but don’t know if the real is there na ride 5 this is one track round real ride 4 custom everything not for me
I hate the pop in. That this game has.
Agreed!
Honestly not even that bad
I can look past it, it is distracting for some tracks but it’s not a game breaker
@@DrAce46 Indeed, there is so much of it in game. That you'll notice it often. Even GT7 has pop in on the PS5. But there is so little of it that you have to try hard to spot it.
The texture pop-in will never be fixed. It is a limitation of the KT Engine that the game uses.
😢
