    Thanks for posting this. Most guys are not Honda techs, but this give a good insight of what to do for the do-it-yourselfers.

    I’m watching your clutch removal on a VTX 13 or 1800 and I was wondering about taking the center nut off of what I think is called the clutch basket? You had a video memory problem and it didn’t show that so my question is were you able to just use your impact gun to take that large nut off the center shaft? Is that also a one time nut? Thanks in advance for your help.

      Monty, yes, I was able to just use the impact gun to get the nut off of that clutch basket, and it is a one-time use nut because you "stake" it when you reinstall it.

    I would have loved to see where you drilled the holes for more oil flow on that basket. I want to drill mine out, but I don’t know exactly where to drill the 0.187” holes.

      I wound up not drilling the holes, but if you want to see how it's done, this post over on the CA X Riders forum has all the info you need.

      Also, did the slop or slack in the chain go away after changing it out to a new one on your oil pump drive system?

    • @hoopin4you
      @hoopin4you  2 года назад

      @@richardjeun No, but I learned it was normal slack and had been fine since the clutch install.

      FYI: drilling holes on your basket helps the oil flow to cool the clutch system and springs. Over time, those rubber dampeners wear out and springs gets shorter due to hot oil or lack of flow to cool them, which causes clutch shutter or moaning noise.

    How does that stand work, how do you raise the motorcycle up to rest on the horizontals.

    • @hoopin4you
      @hoopin4you  Год назад

      The stand was made by a fellow VTX rider. You just use a regular m/c lift to get the bike up high enough to rest on this stand. It was made to accomodate the width of most of the lifts out there.

      @@hoopin4you Thanks for that verification, simple but brilliant.

    Why is my clutch dragging after replacing the rings and springs?. Even before I tighten the spring bolts, it's the clutch level engaged it's already dragging?

    • @hoopin4you

      Not sure what you mean by "dragging". Did you install the steels and frictions alternating, and offset the last one?

    • @haydnhunt5477
      @haydnhunt5477 18 дней назад

      Yes Sir 👍 I mean when I pull my clutch lever, and rock the bike back and forth theres friction in-between the plates/fibers. Pressure plate is clearing them fine when cabled clutch lever is engaged. Lurching Forward when shifting to first etc 👍 Thank you

      New fibers, new springs, sanded old burnt rings with 220 etc didn't touch the clutch basket/nut

      Did you soak everything in fresh oil overnight?
