34:11 I think that it may be what you said, he not used to the Mafia behavior or it could be this that I just thought of when you said that: He didn’t drop his gun right away because of his training and then years fighting in WW2 where you don’t drop your gun and especially don’t after shooting the enemy. Just another theory. Maybe it says why in the novel.
I've always interpreted the handshake between Hagan and Frankie at the prison to be where Frankie gets the razor he uses... I could be wrong, but the prolonged handshake always seemed to have more subtext and a deeper meaning, than just "good bye old friend" or "You know what you have to do"

Fab job on the recap, but can you please explain what immobiliari was? Who was in charge of it, how it started and works, real life comparison to today and if it's still around? Thanks.
I think Michael's inevitable acceptance into the family was a bit more than him simply not wanting to be the one to be the godfather. I think he knew that if he had taken over, he'd be too good at it and that he was. He had already willingly fought in WW2, The thought of killing isn't what had distressed him from accepting his father's legacy but rather being too good at being in power. He had already seen what men in power could do when he was at war. I believe the reason he went to war was to show his family that being in the mafia wasn't the only way to live and that life could be different for all of them. They'd have the freedom to be whatever their hearts desired rather than puppets of power and influence. However they were too lost in tradition and drunk with the results of power themselves. I also believe Michael's actions in the 2nd film were a means to finding a legitimate way out of the mafia life without consequences but he had underestimated how much people weren't willing to let this life go and at what cost it would take to actually get out. It wasn't until after he lost what was really important to him which was his desire to be a family man that we truly saw him defeated. That's the significance of how the first two films end. The biggest tragedy of all wasn't that he had become the godfather or destroyed the family but that he would have never truly been in love.
I've totally been wondering this with all the movie breakdown content I've been indulging in lately... ...if you're talking about a 40 plus year old movie, are you really spoiling something?
I noticed you have not broke down Goodfellas yet. Is that some kind of legal issue or have you just not prioritized it yet? (Certainly more memorable the GodFather III or Longlegs)
The Frankie Five Angels hit doesn’t make sense because either they weren’t ever going to kill him but make it look like they were or they were going to kill him so why tell that lie? Michael did NOT order the hit on Frankie. I like the Rococo theory.

I was always under the impression that the title refers to Michael strictly because he’s the protagonist. But yea I prob refers to both Michael and Vito.
I honestly disagree with all of Sofia Coppola’s bad vibe about her acting in “Part III”, some some morons even blaming her for the film’s lackluster success. Just imagine Al Pacino or Robert DeNiro playing “The Terminator”? Doesn’t sound right, right? How can such articulate actors play a monosyllabic killing cyborg? Well, Sofia played a spoiler brat, daughter of a huge crime and RICH mob lord so articulate lines would’ve been completely out of place in her scenes. Sure, some scenes could’ve been a bit better but NOT all of them. Her tragic death scene was convincing enough as well as Michael Corleone’s anguished cry over his dead daughter, the only one of his siblings who actually showed love and respect for her father. I think “heavy spoilers” and other RUclips channels have been WAY too harsh on her performance. All I can say is that “I’ve seen FAR WORSE” and no one has said a thing”. Plus, Sofia turned out as a good filmmaker, if not an A-List actress, so please: Stop the unnecessary bullying and give “Part III” some long overdue respect. I just wished a film like this would get done today, among the sea of truly worthless crap!
