It's a bit of a stretch to say Red was a country album...
@@VioletEmeraldno, it’s not a stretch lol. Albums have actual categories and Red was country. She obviously branched out into the pop world on that album but it was still predominantly a country album, it’s just mostly known for the pop songs in the mainstream because of radio play. If you actually look at the track list, even just on the original album, of the 16 tracks only 3 are solid pop, the rest are either country or country-pop. Then if you factor in the vault songs, I’d say only Message In A Bottle is pop.
@@VioletEmerald red is definitely her most genre blending album, but it is still a country album. You just need to take the pop songs & the folk songs work well with the country

Two things:
1-I’m sure someone already mentioned but the bride is Miles Teller’s real wife.
2-He keeps seeing her everywhere at his wedding, which is why she keeps changing looks. He sees her in the cocktail server, the best man giving his toast, the flower girl, the bride for the first dance, the musicians, etc. proving he really does still think about her and she is hard to forget. She’s not really there. That’s why everything rewinds and “corrects” near the end.

The video is a metaphor for the ex trying to move on but not being able to stop thinking about her. She’s everywhere she looks, and seeing her everywhere is ruining things for him, ruining his new relationships. In his mind, she is causing trouble for him all over the place, but no one else seems to see it. The song’s thesis is “now that we’re done and it’s over I bet it’s hard to believe that you’re finding I’m harder to forget than I was to leave.”
This from her “Red” album, which was primarily inspired by her breakup with Jake Gyllenhaal, and she references him (or at least references herself describing him in other songs) several times: the color red, for one, which was the title track of the album with the thesis “loving him was red”; the scarf, which references “All Too Well”; the multiple references to him acting superior and being a snob, growing up in a gated community, running in upper crust circles, rolling his eyes at her jokes which is referenced in several other songs; the line asking if he has all the space he needs which is a reference to the line “we hadn’t seen each other in a month when you said you needed space…what?” in “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”… that song is also specifically referenced in the line about going to “cool indie music concerts every week” which points back to “find your peace of mind with some indie record that’s much cooler than mine”. It is also a reference to both “All Too Well” and “The Moment I Knew,” when she describes the final nail in the coffin of their relationship as when he skipped her 21st birthday party for a Mumford & Sons show.

I never interpreted the music video as a petty ex girlfriend showing up at the wedding. I think the dude is just paranoid and haunted by the fact that he knows he messed up. It was all in his head while he was practicing his speech in the bathroom. And I think everyone wearing white at the wedding is an example of his status, as some rich people have dress codes like that for their wedding. I also don't think him being rich was the issue as much as it was him being pretentious. Hence "Mr. Superior thinking."
Yes it’s really much more of a “chasing shadows in the grocery line” “I see your profile and your smile on unsuspecting waiters” he is seeing her everywhere but she isn’t actually there, that’s why in the dance scene you hear his shoes and his breathing but not hers, he’s the only one actually there, he’s just thinking about her and seeing her everywhere
I love her humor going from All Too Well " you said if we had been closer in age, maybe it would've been fine. And that made me want to die" and all the innuendos in the MV about how he thought she was immature, and in this video she just straight up embraces it. It also kind of shows how he was this adult person and she was a kid still.

I have heard of people having white weddings where they ask all the guests to wear white. There’s also black and white weddings where everyone wears black and/or white. Black suits and tuxedos seem to always be the exception to dress code rules, but as long as you’re not also wearing a black shirt. If it’s not specified on the invite to wear one of those colors, it is pretty taboo to do it. Red is one of those colors that never seems to be accepted much, but also not everyone knows that a woman wearing red to a wedding means she’s had s3x with the groom.
The reference to indy music is another reference to Jake (and a call back to We are Never Ever Getting Back Together). Also from Red.
This RED Album was released as Country as Big Machine wanted that, but RED has a variety of genre's as she was experimenting with going to Pop. It included, IKnew You Were Trouble, 22, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, and more...all Pop songs that were hits. Which is probably why RED was nominated for CMA Grammy Album of the Year, but didnt win. Taylor's next album, was full Pop, 1989. Which won Album of the Year and many other awards.
