I agree, this model is one of my favorites and it definitely caught my eye when I saw it. The gold/green display is awesome. So far the 9052, 5600 and the GD-350 are the only G-Shocks that I wear. The 9052, in my eyes, is pretty much becoming my favorite and I think it's because of the display color and gold accents. Thanks for sharing. Great video.

I just got the DW 9052GBX at Wal mart for $31. It was on clearance. A week later I picked up an AE2000W for $15. I've worn G-Shock since 1987, even when I was in the pawn business and could wear something a lot more expensive, you just can't beat a G-Shock for ruggedness, but I'm loving the AE 2000. It has so many features that the GS doesn't and it's also got 200m of water resistants, 5alarms, dual time display, 33 time zones,DST and you can mute the beeps when you work the buttons which I like.
I’m with you on the Casios with gold trim. I have that same DW9052, also have the F91-F with gold trim and display and a W-217H with the gold trim and display. It also has gold buttons. They all look great.
I agree. As I have 6 G Shocks. 2 of them are Mudmasters. And 1 is the new Mudman GW 9500-1. But I also have the DW 9052 GBX. As the basic G Shock the DW 9052 is the best basic G Shock. And I love the black and gold colors.
I bought a used standard 9052 on e-bay for 20 bucks , battery was dead few scratches on it but expected, I installed a fresh battery replace and lubed the gasket and the watch is in perfect working order.
I have this watch as well, it's very comfortable and nice to wear but I need my reading glasses to see the date and the day. I wish they went a little bigger on that.

I bought one just for the look.💛 Only has alarm,stop watch and timer. No world time or dual time. It has 💯yrs calendar. EL light is dull not bright as in the vintage models.
If you want to improve the looks even more remove the bumpers. It guves the watch a smaller presence on your wrist and the watch face looks super cool bc you have the metal stand offs at all 4 corners
i have an issue with my 9052 right now, when i hit the button that should cause the watch to light up it turns the display off, do you have a possible fix?

Most non-solar G-Shocks are rated for 5 years. In reality they last for 8-10 depending on how often you use the backlight or any other features. I have a G Shock with a 5 year battery that's still going strong and I purchased it 11 years ago.
I just found this one at Wal Mart on clearance for $13. It's a great looking watch but I did remove the two case back screw covers and the side screws. It doesn't hurt the functionality of the watch and just looks better to me but of course that's just my opinion.

@@sebw3964 It doesn't bother me. I prefer to turn that feature off (just to save the battery life). If you do end up getting one you'll love it, but if you have to have the auto-light then there's definitely a TON of great G-Shocks that have it too.

The gold printing looks good, but it's the old school greenish lcd display that looks really great. That's the selling point for me. I love mine.
Yup. You can't beat that style of display. Timex also has it on a lot of their older models and you just can't beat it.

The battery is almost dead. There's not enough voltage to power the display and the backlight so it shuts down. Fortunately it's a very easy fix🤘
