Hi! Few inputs here from my side. The drain pipe (pipe for water flow from tank to sump) size should be greater than return pump line size i.e if return pipe is 3/4 or 1 inch the drain pipe should be 1.5 or 2 inch. This shall help in flow control along with a ball valve on the drain pipe as water flow from tank to sump is with gravity pull but the return pump pushes water against gravity...the flow rate becomes different. Also using a flow control valve on the return pump line causes pressure back to pump which effects the pump badly. Instead a non return valve or check valve should be used so that water do not flow back to sump through pump line in case of power outages or pump malfunction. DC motor also have a flow control build with the DC pump which AC pump do not have plus as suggested by another member here DC pump is power efficient. Also additionally with the overflow system, a water level control valve can be used in drain pipe inside the sump so that sump shall never overflow after the desired level. On Amazon water level control valve like MRS company can be found at cheap rate.

So I took this motor as it was way too cheap then regular sump pump . And that’s I had to install flow control bcos I knew I may gave this issue in future of getting water filled quickly . But those quick tips u have r super helpful . Hopefully for future I’ll mention theses as I really had no idea abt making those drainage drill bigger . For pump let’s see how long it last . But as of now flow n drainage are totally in control . Bhai any info u would like to share about over the top sump . M planning soon for that
@@AquaticZone Bhai, actually us should have designed the Inlet hole(water to sump) side facing upwards by fixing an Elbow, by this way the less amount of water drains back to sump during pump shut off. As Mr.swarup said controlling outflow of an AC pump is bad. About over head sump is bit easy, as there is no problem of excess water draining back to sump during power cut. Only thing u need to keep in mind base support from tank through rigid brazing. Would suggest u to do some research & build DIY Wet-dry or Trickling filters, due to abundant O2 they provide top notch Nitrification.

Knowledge sharing in this hobby is very important as we are trying to bring nature at home and the lives & well being of the fishes/live stocks depends on us... unfortunately they are not able to tell us their pain instead shows gestures which at times we fail to understand. So "Saf pani and accha khana" are very and most important for the fishes.
*what MM glass youhave usedfor the 8 ft tank also share what is the shelf life of ceramic rings (are they to be replaced after some period if after how many month ?/year)*
For 8 ft tank it’s 12 mm glass ( and most important it’s toughen glass ) and bhai ceramic Media is best and they last for years. You only have to clean them . ( like any fish waste or any other dust kind of algae which gathers on media . Just wash them and it will b fine ( these media are dead , they r only a porous particle where water flow inside and which help bacteria to make colony on them . So these media has no expiry . Just have to clean them on regular basis so that bcos of lot of waste oxygen is not cut off on bacteria living on that media

Dear well explained, as per my knowledge sump intake point and return point should be opposite side in tank, I mean u made water return and water drop to sump at left side if u connect return pipe on right side of tank then water will move from right to left in tank then all waste will move to left and go into sump, i hope u can get better results.
Bhai filter job is not to suck big waste . It only cycles water . So big waste need to be siphon out . Bcos filter keep good bacteria and which onky convert ammonia to nitrate

My water level of the return pump compartment/section gets decreased quickly and have to refill it every week. I don’t have the pressure control on the pipe like yours. How can I fix this problem?
Bhai this is only bcos of excess humidity these days . M facing same issue as well . Only keep refill is the option bro . I will check any diy method where water can be automatically filled . If yes then I’ll definitely bring out update

Nice video but please clear my doubt, you said we have to make 20% of the capacity of the aquarium for making sump. But if we see the canister filters they are not that big. Even for the eight feet tank.
In canister filter it’s about flow . We choose them according to the flow . If tank is of 10 litre then filter whole should be 100 litre per hour . In sump we have an advantage of making it bigger n better ( but with not so fast flow )

So far everything’s working perfect . But yes I get the other pump as u mentioned but one thing bhai . If I totally open the flow adjustable then water fill very fast n I was afraid that it might flow from above and sump was getting emptied faster too . So I had to turn the flow little bit down
@@AquaticZone Bhai, This is mainly becoz of suction pipe size is less & u can check the approx. flowrate of each pipe size in google. Now the best Idea is to use ur emergency wala hole inlet also by fixing U-shaped pipe along elbow , level equal to bottom edge of main inlet hole.

Yes bhai kar sakte Hai. Dono aquairum pass hone chahiye . Extra pipe for connection in two tank aur sump thoda bada jisse dono tank ka flow and outflow handle kar sake

Bhai, one financial tip - change ur pump to Variable frequency DC pump , which consumes
Thank you very much bhai . Means a lot . As u said actually price was the only reason why I didn’t took proper sump pump . N also it was my first time so wanted to keep basic and as easy I can do . So far everything’s working perfect . But yes I get the other pump as u mentioned but one thing bhai . If I totally open the flow adjustable then water fill very fast n I was afraid that it might flow from above and sump was getting emptied faster too . So I had to turn the flow little bit down
@@AquaticZone Bhai, This is mainly becoz of suction pipe size is less & u can check the approx. flowrate of each pipe size in google.
Now the best Idea is to use ur emergency wala hole inlet also by fixing U-shaped pipe along elbow , level equal to bottom edge of main inlet hole.
