Gold spray paint is awesome, period!!! my mom actually gave my aunt so many things she was planning on giving to the goodwill, like old lamps she did not need anymore (cause of course she bought news ones!!!) then my aunt took the items home spray painted them GOLD.
My mom comes over my aunt's weeks later and says WOW where did u find such a nice lamp? My aunt was like u don't recognize it!?!?!? LOL and my mom was like No.... then my aunt said "its the old lamp u gave me!!" my mom was speechless and me too, since my Aunt made it look AMAZing and unrecognizable in a great way, I'm not exaggerating! well that is my spray paint story :)

I know this is two years too late... but hit up a thrift store like Savers that has random knick-nacks that don't have much in the way of history or charm by themselves. Some of that stuff would probably look really awesome painted!
