For some reason I can vividly remember your teaching the most when I show up to class than other videos.

I got to meet Mr. Tinoco last week. I was on vacation in the Boston area and trained at Bernardo Faria’s gym. Mr. Tinoco was instructing the class. I was scared to death of him lol. But I introduced myself and he was so kind and helpful to me. He even took time to help me on a technique.

Love all these escape suggestions! Presumably in No GI, for the hip throw, you hold onto the lat muscle, before doing the throw?

As a 60 yo blue I accept there’s just some offense/defenses my body is incapable of doing. This concept of early side control prevention by controlling the arm attacking my head and neck has been successfully helping me retain guard or simple buy time for the possibility of my training partners to abandon the attack all together for something else. Point is, if this works for a broken toy 60 yo it’s at least something for y’all young bucks especially lower belts to concentrate on till u develop better guard passing techniques.
