About the Gemling: Vitality is a support. There are a lot of choices for supports but I feel like it's going to be insane to be able to combo 2 skills scaling of the same supports in some cases. I'm sure you can put multiple spirit skills on and reduce their reservation at some point.
The only smart, wise and honest overview i saw in the last 2 days. Thanks mate, a breath of fresh air. If i hear the word "tierlist" another time i can potentially go crazy :D Thanks for sharing your thoughts, i hope you will have fun! Ciao
flames of chayula appear once every ~second or so and with the additional ascendancy point last 10 seconds. its a 1/3 chance for it to be a purple flame so you'll see one every ~3 seconds, so i wouldn't expect to be able to routinely go over 3-4 stacks of the purple flame buff. though they last 25 seconds on the ground, if you have a downtime window you could leave a bunch on the floor then grab em all at once before a burst window to get closer to that 140% dmg as chaos dream
Currently its pretty brokenly op, when you pick up a buff it resets the duration on the whole buff stack, so its quite easy to run around with max stacks of all three types.
If bleed pops are a thing for spells then Blood mage might be nuts. A big wind up spell that lays down a gigantic fat bleed could be fun (like maybe a big flameblast that triggers ignite/bleed simultaneously).
Infernalists and Acolytes RISE UP the alternative resources and unique mechanics for these two seem perfect for me. Looking forward to messing around with the build possibilities
Speed unaffected by slows might have some weird interactions with self slow mechanics that affect skill duration for example. Could be cool that way, just wait and see what kind of interactions we can find in the game.
i think the warbringer shield node will be big in conjonction with Giant's Blood : basically allow to use a purely offensive shield on top of your 2h while still having 40% base block
Re: Blood Mage infinite curse. I'm in the same spot with that node, but I'm gonna be watching to see if there's any curses that scale based on their duration at all. It feels odd to me that they put this notable in and wouldn't have it interact with any niche curses, passive nodes, or uniques.
Doubt there will be anything that scales off curse duration but there may be things that lower it, like a "more curse effect" support or something that heavily nukes the duration but buffs the effect. Or a unique item that says 80% less curse duration, +1 maximum curses. Something along those lines. Nothing will be able to scale directly off the duration timer as it is infinite and you cant put infinite into a mathematical formula. Its not possible to scale unless its capped.
Now that blasphemy got nuked before launch that node actually seems good, curses are rly fucking annoying to apply, most people will go Automated Marks probably
Warbringer, Infernalist, and Pathfinder all interest me in different ways. The idea of doing Totem / Warcries with Warbringer is funny to me. Drop totems, and then scream till things explode XD
The Pathfinder concoctions I think will be really good because exposure is harder to get now, and just with the little of the tree we've had revealed, there is a LOT of pen on the tree. The only issue I see is that we dont know how easy it is to get mana charges just yet. I know there is a life flasks gain .4 charges on the tree so I'm hoping there will be a mana equivalent for it.
I'm so tempted to go all-in on Darkness with the Acolyte of Chayula. The darkness mechanic has been shit on by so many streamers, but I think it's a better version of ES (although capped at 600 maybe). I also like the Into the Breach asc. skill, but how awesome it is will depend upon the cooldown. The instant mana leech sounds epic as well. So many good choices within that single ascendency.
I've been thinking on trying chonk but ranged, maybe bow/xbow. That way I'm not constantly on melee so I can leverage darkness's buffs more often. Honestly, the wild theorycrafting of an entirely fresh meta is the most enticing part of PoE2 IMO!
No auras though. My pob drops like 30% of its dmg in poe1 when I remove my auras. If you can get a MoM build going though, it could be ok, sadly you get hit on your darkness first, so taking any hits fucks your dmg up.
chonk definitely isn't being shit on by many streamers, and if they are then that streamer is braindead. It's one of the more broken ones. The chayula buffs, from what we have seen in preview videos, is going to be insane
If they have Breach rings again, the Chonk Into The Breach thing will enable double effects of Breach rings? It says: "you are considered to be in a breach while this skill is active."
I was really negative about PoE2, as I thought it would be a slow-mo pile of boredom, but over the past 2 weeks I started watching all the content for it, and now I am completely converted. I am hyped af for tonight!
Supposedly it's been confirmed that Hulking Form does not count attribute travel nodes, but it's still probably going to be one of the strongest ascendancy notables ever. God forbit they add anything like Forbidden Flesh/Flame to the game ever.
I think for the Deadeye, we've already seen that Rain of Arrows consumes frenzy charges to give %MORE arrows, I think 50% per iirc. Now you get a 50% chance to double that, and a chance to gain max frenzies whenever you gain one... I can see there being a lot of arrows getting thrown out.
@@bknight3391 There's a Barrage gem that gives you a buff "repeat next bow attack you use, +1 additional repeat per frenzy charge consumed". That looks like an insane finisher combined with some slow and high-damaging bow skill.

For the CHMonk I was thinking something like 1,7,8,4 and do some MoM attacking action so you never lose darkness (assuming it works that way). Pretty risky, not my first character but would be huge if there is either mana leech for spells somewhere to go archmage or int/mana to attack damage somewhere. Seems like a hipster build you'd do :). If there's enough mana recovery through into the breach I could see a archmage 5/6/7/8 thing. If that worked the dmg would be hilarious lmao just don't get hit.
I think chronomancer looks neat It will probably feel like playing a high skilled character with time freeze, temporal rift, reseting cooldowns and everything else
lots of question about those ascendancy... Like for The chronomancer, do the slow enemies in your presence stack with the temporal chain? if yes... this might be insane
For the shitty chrono node, they could make it have a base level and ramp up and down, like from 10% to 30% so it's always more than nothing, the difference is less extreme, and you can feel it while playing and adapt to it without counting or looking at buffs. Having a binary buff for a few seconds is the shittiest version of this type of mechanic possible. If the node has a visual tied to it though, like an hourglass next to the character, or a watch under showing when it will activate, it could be wayyyyyy more interesting to play with.
in acolyte of chayula why does every other passive says "gain #% of damage as extra chaos damage" but only into the breach says "granting #% of damage as chaos damage" ? is it only because it's timed ?
Mercenary looks good but I think alot of people will be turned off from the class earlier on due to it being clunky. The way the ammo works your gonna be reloading alot at the start of the game (unless you don't go crossbows of course). However late game your gonna be popping off.
Having flexible max res is going to be sick, you may also want the x2 use of support gems so that you can stack for example 48 red support gems vs a fire damage boss for +12 max fire res.
1:50 i disagree. One cant argue Bloodmage has more upsides than Infernalist. One gives you 30% CD and a debuff while the other gives you around 100% CD+ baseline and no debuff.....
Same, imagine going one way and a purple flames pop behind you, needing to backtrack, or spawn on a really bad place, and if you let the buff expire you just lost 140%. Nah, invoker inc
The Monk is a pretty mobile class with how its skills have been designed. I hope that it actually will feel good to jump around dealing damage and catching the flames while doing that. But I love that it is canon that the Chayula Monk will look as a crazy shizo to other NPCs when grabing things only he can see😅
Calling it now (still 7 hours and 15 minutes til Early access goes live): The 15% base spell critical node on the Blood Witch isn't going to be as good as everyone seems to think it will be. 1) we won't have utility flasks. This means you won't be getting 150% increased crit chance (or more) from a diamond flask. 2) Of all the gear we have been shown in trailers and gameplay promotional material on the website, we haven't seen a single piece that increased spell critical chance. This doesn't mean it doesn't exist in PoE2, but IF IT DOESN'T, it means we will have to rely solely on the passive tree and Global modifiers to crit chance to affect spell crits This generally means it will be much harder to max out spell crit chance than it was in PoE1, and may not even be possible to do in early access. If this is the case, an ascendancy node that grants base 15% crit for spells will be the equivalent of a node in PoE1 that gives 2% additional spell crit chance. It would be useful, but not spectacular.
Invoker top two nodes made me (almost) forgive GGG to not ship with my boi trickster. That being said, love that most ascendancys are doing cool stuff. I will probably start as sorcerer, even thow monk seams so fun. But I have to try rpgs as a mage when I have the option. Stormweaver looks nice, chronomancer looks meme. Lets see how they play.
Are we allowed to respec ascendancy points? Like if I regret getting the extra cold dmg invoker node and want the lightning one instead, is that possible? Or did they not comment on that
No one is talking about the fact that mana leach is only possible with physical attacks. This greatly limits what u can do with the chonk ascendancy. I understand how broken spells would be, but atleast have mana leach on *melee* instead of *physical*. It competely ruins this ascendancy since u are forced to take some physical skill.
1:40 THANK YOU, holy shit the amount of streamers declaring the build they're starting with is supreme and flaming people in their chat who think differently is so disheartening, I had to unsub from several creators bc of it... Some people are so arrogant about a game they've never played, its incredibly off-putting and just plain weird
My 2cents on Deadeye : For new players, don't listen to those are complaining about the ascendancy and i highly suggest you to try it because it's super funny! Obliterate the screen with projectiles, go fast, evade, and melt bosses! So funny! Maybe lot of people complain about it because they played Bows in every crazy way possible in PoE1, plus the ascendancy it is definitely similar to that old one if not equal, so i see why. Still, it's a new PoE, it has WASD, and lot of little details are changed as well so, even for "veterans" ...have fun with it! I spammed fire elemental hit for a few leagues on PoE1 and had SO MUCH FUN...guess what, i m gonna pick deadeye again now :)
There needs to be like a "fortnite" tab on youtube... and people who release the "BEST Build" videos should get sent to that tab with all of the other worm brain clout chasers. DM can be the ruler and moderator of that channel.
I’m going chronomancer gamba bonk. With volcanic fissure with hourglass support, hammer of the gods, and infernal cry I have 3 big impact spells to gamba on proccing multiple times
i wonder if chaos monk's Darkness is going to interact with MoM & EB the way i think it will. MoM makes 100% of damage taken hit mana before life, and EB turns all ES into mana, you are only losing mana to hits, and not life or ES, so you shouldn't lose any darkness? could be really big
EB will be disabled on launch cause there is a bug with it. If darkness works as an additional layer of defense, maybe, but otherwise the damage loss will be huge as only 5 flames will make you go to 32% more chaos vs 30% total from darkness at lvl100.
Pissess me off so much, wanted to search some opinions on launch guides etc today, 90% of videos on youtube is "best class for you", "this is broken" etc, made by people who make guides for EVERY game, and never even played PoE1, and dont understand sht. Just milking the views. As for EA launch, still no idea what to start. I think ill go blood mage, wanted to go full minion build, started with a minion build on PoE1 launch, but theres no dedicated minion/necro subclass, and it sucks :/
The "4 seconds every 12 seconds" is garbage. Didnt they learn anything from poe1? Almost no one took convergence in the elementalist. You cant control when it starts and ends... nobody is gonna take that when they could stop time or reset cooldowns
For the witch hunter, Jonathan said you don't have to use the weapon spec points in 2 different trees. You can if you wanted use them in just 1. So that witch hunter node effectively is +20 passive points, assuming it works like the rest of the game's weapon spec points you pick up during campaign.
It says that 20 of your passive points BECOME weapon passive points so I think it just adds to the allowable pool of weapon passives that you can use, it doesn't actually add skill points. That's how I read it anyway.
The Invoker looks really sick taking the energy wheel that's close to the staff wheel and using the extra spirit for cast on crit, cast on melee crit, cast on freeze and cast on kill, new flicker stike for super good clear speed. I do think it could be hard to get enough crit however and defences for it look unsteady. The dark monk looks less fun but way more effective 140% more damage and and massive constant life and mana leech looks extremely powerful, it will also feel great as it has instant leech for ES. I also think Deadeye two frenzy nodes look super good for Flicker strike and a number of other skills, I suspect melee Deadeye will be the fastest clearing build in poe 2 until it gets nerfed.
Just fyi, Flicker Strike now uses power charges instead of frenzy charges like in PoE 1, and frenzy charges no longer grant benefits on their own, only when consumed. Which means deadeye frenzy would be 100% worthless for Flicker Strike.

If there's enough mana recovery through into the breach I could see a archmage 5/6/7/8 thing. If that worked the dmg would be hilarious lmao just don't get hit.
invoker looks cool honestly want to try the elemental expression
“This move we don’t really know but it has the potential to be huge”
Summed it up for ya guys lol it’s the truth tho!
I think chronomancer looks neat
It will probably feel like playing a high skilled character with time freeze, temporal rift, reseting cooldowns and everything else
I'm planning on picking up the 20% slow on my first Trials and going for Temporal Chains for easy levelling
time freeze and skill should never be in the same sentence.
lots of question about those ascendancy... Like for The chronomancer, do the slow enemies in your presence stack with the temporal chain? if yes... this might be insane
it will stack with temporal chains and chill. Things like Frostbolt + icenova might be very potent again
The wording looks close enough to the usual "as extra" that I think it's a typo. If it was a conversion it would use the word conversion.
Stormweaver or Witchhunter for me, struggling to pick!
I did Ignite minion build on Last Epoch, wonder how viable that would be in PoE2
I think Infernalist comes with a free (doesn't have a spirit cost) minion that ignites enemies. Not sure exactly how it works yet though.
Thanks for the rundown.
GGG really cooked, everything sounds like so much fun.
Guys
When pre-download will be available?
Mercenary looks good but I think alot of people will be turned off from the class earlier on due to it being clunky. The way the ammo works your gonna be reloading alot at the start of the game (unless you don't go crossbows of course). However late game your gonna be popping off.
Gemling Legionnaire. Simply for the flavor. Probably the more skills and resists, after that fuck it, who knows.
Having flexible max res is going to be sick, you may also want the x2 use of support gems so that you can stack for example 48 red support gems vs a fire damage boss for +12 max fire res.
@alistairbolden6340 Yup. Seems flexible. I'm trying to not overload on info and just go in mostly blind.
Double support gems are so good.
He looks badass compared to Deadeye… trying to decide between the two
“Don’t know if that’s a bug or a feature”
I won't spoil myself but I came here to say I'm hyped to see what MY STREAMER will make of the game :D!
1:50 i disagree. One cant argue Bloodmage has more upsides than Infernalist. One gives you 30% CD and a debuff while the other gives you around 100% CD+ baseline and no debuff.....
Idk about chayula monk....needing to grab flames to keep buff up feels disruptive af, lets see how it will play. Hyped
Yeah, i didnt liked that class design too, and it feels like a mandatory node, 140% more dmg is too much to pass on
Same, imagine going one way and a purple flames pop behind you, needing to backtrack, or spawn on a really bad place, and if you let the buff expire you just lost 140%. Nah, invoker inc
Taking the flames build will be great in clear focused builds, but it's not the only way to build it.
@@blackomega34 nah, no other node can come even close, its 140% MORE dmg, its sounds pretty mandatory
This doesn't mean it doesn't exist in PoE2, but IF IT DOESN'T, it means we will have to rely solely on the passive tree and Global modifiers to crit chance to affect spell crits
This generally means it will be much harder to max out spell crit chance than it was in PoE1, and may not even be possible to do in early access. If this is the case, an ascendancy node that grants base 15% crit for spells will be the equivalent of a node in PoE1 that gives 2% additional spell crit chance. It would be useful, but not spectacular.
Unblockable attacks have a red flash
Very very easy to see and get away
🤯
Invoker top two nodes made me (almost) forgive GGG to not ship with my boi trickster.
That being said, love that most ascendancys are doing cool stuff. I will probably start as sorcerer, even thow monk seams so fun. But I have to try rpgs as a mage when I have the option. Stormweaver looks nice, chronomancer looks meme. Lets see how they play.
Was excited for the demon form until I found out the whole spec revolves around nuking your life bar. Certainly not starter friendly.
They appeared to sustain it easily in the preview stream but you're probably right. It seems like a high-investment build.
it worked very well for me in Last Epoch ...but that's not POE II🤣
Are we allowed to respec ascendancy points? Like if I regret getting the extra cold dmg invoker node and want the lightning one instead, is that possible? Or did they not comment on that
didnt they say that you can respec for gold (even the ascendancies) ?
Yea you can respec but not swap
No one is talking about the fact that mana leach is only possible with physical attacks. This greatly limits what u can do with the chonk ascendancy. I understand how broken spells would be, but atleast have mana leach on *melee* instead of *physical*. It competely ruins this ascendancy since u are forced to take some physical skill.
How many ascendancy points will you get? I heard it was 8
We know its 8 from the campaign but no one has done the final two trials before so it could be more.
@@alistairbolden6340I'm sure it will be 8. 2 per trial level and there are 4 levels.
@@alistairbolden6340 It's 8. Jonathan confirmed that in an interview.
People are sleeping on Deadeye cause its so alike the old ascendancy
I think stormweaver is probably gonna be the safest pick for poe vets
1:40 THANK YOU, holy shit the amount of streamers declaring the build they're starting with is supreme and flaming people in their chat who think differently is so disheartening, I had to unsub from several creators bc of it... Some people are so arrogant about a game they've never played, its incredibly off-putting and just plain weird
Can you reroll within the ascendency you picked?
yes
Oh boy
Witch summon here i go
Clicked on this vid as your name is awesome! I have a maths MSc myself
Doryani cosplay?
Witch hunter eq or tectonic would prob be really deece
Let's go chonnkkkk
Warbringer looks like Morpheus
The Chonk 🤣🤣
So close.......LOGIN !!!!
The biggest issue I have is basically being frustrated about not having 12-14 points to spend. 🙄
Yeah getting in a couple hammers in a row seems like it'd be hilarious fun!
Detonating dead warbringer. No CD warcry.
i wonder if chaos monk's Darkness is going to interact with MoM & EB the way i think it will. MoM makes 100% of damage taken hit mana before life, and EB turns all ES into mana, you are only losing mana to hits, and not life or ES, so you shouldn't lose any darkness? could be really big
I think EB wont accesiable on this stage of EA
EB will be disabled on launch cause there is a bug with it. If darkness works as an additional layer of defense, maybe, but otherwise the damage loss will be huge as only 5 flames will make you go to 32% more chaos vs 30% total from darkness at lvl100.
4.41 amXD
Time to lock in 1000 minions and afk to victory.
Reading the comment section is giving me even more ideas for builds - decisions decisions AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaH 🤣🤪😂
For real.. I need to decide haha
still sane, exile ?
The "4 seconds every 12 seconds" is garbage. Didnt they learn anything from poe1? Almost no one took convergence in the elementalist. You cant control when it starts and ends... nobody is gonna take that when they could stop time or reset cooldowns
I watch Mathil naked
blood mage looks "potent" indeed!
Extremely based as always
IMJUNGROAN
@@thesunryze4658 Ty that makes resonance even better for monk with bloodthirst but yeah makes deadeye a poor choice for flicker.
