Thanks for the video. I just sold a bike and am looking hard at this for my next one. The white plastics would look better on the black tank version. And black out the shiny bits, (guard, end piece on the exhaust muffler), or fit an aftermarket exhaust.

Totally agree with you on the tyres Mr fish, they fit the same type of tyre to the NC 750 X and coming out of corners even in the dry you can feel them squirm underneath you .. I think Honda have fitted a cheap tyre to a otherwise good bike ...
I like it. I hope Honds releases the CL300 other markets. It would be fun to see a Mr Fish review, compare and contrast of the CL 300 and CL500. Happy trails. Thank you.

The stock Dunlops on my 500F were scary even in the dry. They would slip on tar snakes. The only good thing about them is that they didn't last long. Sticky sport touring Bridgestones were a vast improvement. The bike is now awesome.
I took a royal enfield scram out on test and i got that same chilled feeling, loads of fun at a more sedate pace,.now looking at cl 500 as it would 2 up better, lots to like on these bikes,.my favourite bit is a proper rear mudguard and light set up, i do like the exhaust aswell, this would have epic with a 270 crank motor
Nice review. I sat on this bike at the dealer and it was very comfortable. The styling is off for me. Dog's dinner springs to mind. 😊

hello Mr. Fish, after 15500km on cl500 , i change to Conti Trail Attack 3......much much better than the dunlop....after driving 90000km on c125 super cub,i ll be very haply with this bike ...16000km since mai ...no problems...price in Germany now 5999€....not so popular....Frank, Duisburg

Fitted an anti-glare cover to the Speedo and this made it a bit easier to read. Never notice it buzzing so maybe the issue is with the bike you tested.
The shin problem. Just like on my SCR950. CL500: I'd just have the cowl and the side bag. If I wanted a 350/500cc bike, it would be the CL500. Nick J
5:14 the footpegs. Weren't some people complaining about the Rebel's 'pegs tucking your foot too close to the engine and becoming uncomfortable? I think it was something to do with the shape of a casing or cover.
If this had the option of a centre stand and the dash was actually readable, I would probably own one right now. The 500 motor is a gem and more than enough for our roads these days.

I'm not so sure. Haven't seen one designed for it but just buy a swingarm stand for the garage. I find the dash is just about the worst in class but I should just ignore it when I ride anyway.@@lewisallan9963

I’ve had a cb650r , 500x , nc750x but I’ve now gone for the cbr500r and I absolutely love it , I prefer the little 500 it’s more than enough power I don’t want to go stupid speeds so it’s perfect for me . 😃

@@ekostopoulos personally I didn’t like it , purely for the fact it’s a naked I don’t like the wind blast , if your ok with that it’s a nice bike .

Had a Rebel on loan when my 390 Duke was written off, hated it.
The standard bike does not come with the white bits.

It is an entry level bike but you still need to know your speed and have a good ear to know when shift gear.
Unfortunately when sun is shining is not good, so agree dashboard is not the best.
I would be nice to have more choice to rear racks for luggage soon.😊

Dunlop tyres are generally crap anyway. Generally the scrambler niche of the motorcycle market makes no sense to me at all, just my opinion.
I can’t agree on the dunlops .. I run them on my twin ( not these ones though)
Can this bike be fitted with a center stand?
I do t think so .. plus it would probably hang too low (catch on corners)
How does it compare to the cbr500r?
It doesn’t 2 different bikes

86 mpg ? Um noway.

Mr fish is right ive been getting 94 mpg and that's coming from a x11 so I know how to ride nice review
UK mpg are different than US mpg since they have a larger gallon.
It’s 71-72 mpg US. Still really excellent for a 500.
@@Thirsty_Fox that's a good point. I'd never thought of that when watching reviews before.
Most of the stuff you are complaining about are Honda accessories which is rather annoying as it's nothing to do with a stock bike.

@@Mrfish2015 What happens is that the feed comes up with a video which I watch or not. When a reviewer mentions something in that video why would I spend time looking elsewhere to see if he maybe said something different?
