15minutes/day is ridiculous. If you are only exercising an active healthy dog that much, please get a cat. Dogs need way more than that to be physically & mentally healthy.
Try 1 to 1 1/2 hours a day. I start my buddy with ball play before his breakfast. He then has a quiet morning. A walk after lunch and one after supper. He enjoys rain and snow, so I guess I do too. I rescued one this year at 15 mo old. A real sweetie. He is well behaved in every setting. I walk him weekly through a big box store. He has been invited to a number of small social gatherings and he has behaved perfectly. He love children but will not engage them unless they show interest. He loves other dogs and animals. Notably ducks and sheep which he has seen close up and does not bother.
I have a 1 year old bernedoodle, we live on 3 acres and this is barely enough for him to get to a full running speed lol He loves to be outside all day with us and follows everywhere we go. Very affectionate and smart, almost to smart sometimes. He does many tricks and learns within 3 attempts most times, he loves his treats! When he was a puppy he had soft curls but now it is very curly and gets matted easily, I would say daily brushing required.
Ours gets Intense Frisbee play for at least 30 minutes daily and challenging trail walking for an hour daily in the morning. Another trail hike in the evening. He's still ready for more. Wonderfully loving, really intelligent.
I have never really warmed up to a dog and none really warmed up to me. My roommate has a Berniedoodle just over 2 years old. You can not know how much I love this goofy, smart as a whip, adorable little dog. No matter how bad a mood I may be in , I come upstairs and play with him and immediately feel better. Everybody should have one of these in the house.
Nice Video! I have done much much research on these dogs. And..... well, y’all did most things right. There were a couple things I realized were wrong, the one the came to me the most was SwissRidge Kennels being in Switzerland, well, it’s not. It’s in Ontario, Canada. Just letting ya know!
We have a five month old Bernedoodle. She's the sweetest pup ever, and plays well with her older brothers and sister. She's quite the character and makes me laugh every day. Perfect for our family!
We had a poodle - Bernese (accidental) mix in 1964. Very Bernese, but no brown markings, shorter than average legs, straight hair, and 55 lbs. Resembled the dog at 6:07. Great dog, very smart, good with kids. But he had the Bernese curse and died at age 8 from cancer.
We just got a bernedoodle, she is now three months old. Very friendly to everyone she meets and she is great with our two young boys. So far she seems very trainable and we are looking forward to her puppy classes in a couple of weeks. No regrets!

She knows sit, lay down, speak, kennel up, stay, and a several other commands. She has a dry skin issue which causes her to itch. Prescription shampoo fixed that. Also, grooming bills are more expensive then I was planning. Her hair grows really fast! Also, she LOVES THE SNOW! Overall, very good dog and still no regrets!
My 18 month old standard size Bernedoodle is being trained as a service dog. She loves to have jobs to do and even knows her right paw from her left paw. This New Years Eve she was hit by a pickup truck and severely injured. A broken left Femur and several deep cuts and abrasions. The driver of the truck didn't even bother to stop and check on her. The Animal ER at Kansas State University saved her life after a very fast ride to the ER and IV fluids, antibiotics and strong pain medications. She came back home on Monday and on Wednesday, she had hardware placed in her left femur to help it heal properly. It was a clean fracture and separated quite a ways. Her training days are on hold for several weeks until she is feeling in top condition again. She is an amazing smart dog and will make a full recovery.
Awe. Poor baby. How awful. 😢 One of our kitties (~8-9 yrs) had a hard fall last year. No breaks were found, or surgery, but my baby hasn't been the same since. Our Vet suggested Cosequin (joint supplement) at his age. Researched & landed on the NUTRAMAX brand. Max strength version (for cats.) Bit pricey, but it works. 60 ct pills for cats is ~$20. Not bad. I only give it when my boy is really stiff/limping. Sprinkle a capsule on his wet food in the evening. Stir. Easy peasy. Couple hrs later = rip, tear, crash; ~1-3 days/ ONCE per day = brand new cat. Seriously. It's like magic. No doubt in my mind, it helps w/ his pain. Acutely, even! May not be good to take post- surgery r/t healing, bleeding, etc. If interested, maybe llook into. Check w/ your Vet, of course. We get ours at Petco. I've seen for cats, dogs & horses.. Vetericyn Hydrogel (the thick one for wounds) is also magical. Non-toxic, safe for most all animals. I've used it on myself. For use under bandages, but I use it on it's own. Should heal those abrasions right up! Good luck!
I have been convincing my parents to get a dog for ages but they keep on saying no! My dad I think now wants one as well! My aunt and uncle are probably going to be getting a German Shepard next year and I found the Bernedoodle breed and instantly fell in love with it. I soo badly want one! I think my mum might say yes if my aunt and uncle get a dog as she seem a bit more up to the idea and doesn’t mind talking about dogs as before she hated when I was talking about them lol. Bernedoodles can weigh more than 90 lbs, if they take after the Berner. A male Bernese can weigh up to 120 lbs, so there's always a chance a Bernedoodle will reach that weight too.

Anytime I leave the house, my Bernedoodle will get into my room, take a shoe from the shelves, and take it outside. She does not like to be left alone. I work from home, which helps, but she prefers to go with me when I can take her with me. She never leaves me alone.

We just got 2 Bernedoodles! A 11 week old female 3 weeks ago and because our Silky Terriers do not like her we got a 10 week old male last week. They are awesome and adore each other! House training is going great! They are both crate trained which makes House breaking much easier. They really are very smart!

the problem here is that the Bernese Mountain Dog as wonderful and beautiful as they are, Berners are one of the sickest dog breeds in the world, they are full of cancer, hip and elbow dysplasia, retinal myopathy, bad knees and a host of other autoimmune diseases. They have all kinds of genetic diseases which can be passed down to their puppies, throwing in some poodle genetics is not going to cure this will it make the puppies somewhat less likely to have problems yes, but most of the puppies will still be very likely to have some of the problems that pure bred Berners do. Just because some backyard breeder crosses a poodle with a Berner does not make a healthy dog. Also these backyard breeders (read: I have poodle you have a Berner let's make some money) will very rarely do genetic testing on breeding stock and even if they do most will gamble with the odds, this designer dog thing is just another way for puppy millers to shift to a different environment to make money at the expense of the dogs and unsuspecting owners.
Another word of warning regarding these dogs...no health clearances are done for the parents before they are bred. So the person buying these puppies may have in the future( after paying out the initial price of $3500-4500 depending on the "color") hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, heart issues, eye issues, thyroid issues, skin issues, patella issues, Degenerative Myelopathy issues...all which might set you back an additional $5000 each hip to have them fixed surgically. In order for the owner of a "pure bred" Bernese owner to breed their dogs, ALL these tests are required before breeding. The backyard breeder of these "DOODLES" are not required to do any testing...so what happens...the person that gets suckered in, buying one of these mutts has to pay the price for the dilemma when it shows up. The breeder of these will not take any responsibility for it. It is VERY VERY sad as then these poor dogs end up in shelters.
This might be true for backyard breeders but there are breeders who test the dogs for the genetic issues. Good breeders test both the poodle and the Bernese.
Despite the fancy name, these dogs are mutts. They are not purebred and are not responsibly bred. No responsible breeder would pair such a big boned breed with a light boned breed. These dogs are highly unpredictable, most definitely not guaranteed to be hypoallergenic, no dogs are truly hypoallergenic as most people are allergic to skin dander or a protein in the dogs saliva or urine. If the parents are not titled and health tested per their breeds requirements, $2500+ is an absolute scam and cash grab. Titling proves the dog performs, functions, and is built the way they are supposed to be and health testing shows the parents are not carrying certain mutations that can be passed down to the young.
It all depends on the breeder. Garbage in garbage out. My dog has all of the good traits and has shown no health issues. His first owner was a runner and he had no issues running. I cannot run so I do a lot of ball play and off leash. My dog is perfectly healthy as told to me by the vet last week. He is as smart a dog as I have ever met and good in social settings, children, other animals and dogs. He is a real charmer and brings a smile to the face of all who know him. People have been breeding mutts forever. Some are duds. Mutts with science behind them are hybrids. Were the heck did you think all the breeds come from Einstein?

This dog is the healthiest dog I have ever had and the most entertaining but you do have to clip it every couple months or she gets to.hot:great for kids and a good watch dog.

Except you don't breed "for the betterment of the breed"; dog confirmation shows and registries have for decades encouraged inbreeding and breeding for strict looks guidelines instead of intelligence, behavior or physical capabilities, which is what these dogs were originally bred for. Why are most mixed breeds healthier than almost any purebred? Designer dog craze is a bit silly but it's much better than the standardized breed system that didn't even really exist prior to the 20th century.

merle bernedoodles aren't possible, they are a result of another mix in the line. usually they are Aussie poodle and bernese mutts
this is because neither poodles or bernese come in merle

We just got 2 Bernedoodles! A 11 week old female 3 weeks ago and because our Silky Terriers do not like her we got a 10 week old male last week. They are awesome and adore each other! House training is going great! They are both crate trained which makes House breaking much easier. They really are very smart!

They are two pet quality dogs bred together. Because not a single of us reputable breeders would ever breed our dogs to poodles. It’s a cheapening of our breed. Period. A breed we spend years and years only breeding for the betterment of the breed and ALWAYS show our dogs.
Most of the parents of these dogs are from overseas because no real reputable BMD breeder would ever do this.
Don’t let the “health tests” fool you . If these doodles even have “healthy” parents it doesn’t mean anything. This is a mixed breed not a purebred.
They are not trendy or cool. You simply have a mix breed dog produced for no reason. Other than money, which is gross.
Get a Bernese Mtn dog. Go to the BMDCA and find a real reputable breeder. Berners are wonderful dogs.

Literally every breed of dog was designed. You think pugs came straight out of the wilderness? From Greyhounds to Dachshunds they're all "designer".
the problem here is that the Bernese Mountain Dog as wonderful and beautiful as they are, Berners are one of the sickest dog breeds in the world, they are full of cancer, hip and elbow dysplasia, retinal myopathy, bad knees and a host of other autoimmune diseases. They have all kinds of genetic diseases which can be passed down to their puppies, throwing in some poodle genetics is not going to cure this will it make the puppies somewhat less likely to have problems yes, but most of the puppies will still be very likely to have some of the problems that pure bred Berners do. Just because some backyard breeder crosses a poodle with a Berner does not make a healthy dog. Also these backyard breeders (read: I have poodle you have a Berner let's make some money) will very rarely do genetic testing on breeding stock and even if they do most will gamble with the odds, this designer dog thing is just another way for puppy millers to shift to a different environment to make money at the expense of the dogs and unsuspecting owners.

Another word of warning regarding these dogs...no health clearances are done for the parents before they are bred. So the person buying these puppies may have in the future( after paying out the initial price of $3500-4500 depending on the "color") hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, heart issues, eye issues, thyroid issues, skin issues, patella issues, Degenerative Myelopathy issues...all which might set you back an additional $5000 each hip to have them fixed surgically. In order for the owner of a "pure bred" Bernese owner to breed their dogs, ALL these tests are required before breeding. The backyard breeder of these "DOODLES" are not required to do any testing...so what happens...the person that gets suckered in, buying one of these mutts has to pay the price for the dilemma when it shows up. The breeder of these will not take any responsibility for it. It is VERY VERY sad as then these poor dogs end up in shelters.
This might be true for backyard breeders but there are breeders who test the dogs for the genetic issues. Good breeders test both the poodle and the Bernese.

Despite the fancy name, these dogs are mutts. They are not purebred and are not responsibly bred. No responsible breeder would pair such a big boned breed with a light boned breed. These dogs are highly unpredictable, most definitely not guaranteed to be hypoallergenic, no dogs are truly hypoallergenic as most people are allergic to skin dander or a protein in the dogs saliva or urine. If the parents are not titled and health tested per their breeds requirements, $2500+ is an absolute scam and cash grab. Titling proves the dog performs, functions, and is built the way they are supposed to be and health testing shows the parents are not carrying certain mutations that can be passed down to the young.

It all depends on the breeder. Garbage in garbage out. My dog has all of the good traits and has shown no health issues. His first owner was a runner and he had no issues running. I cannot run so I do a lot of ball play and off leash. My dog is perfectly healthy as told to me by the vet last week. He is as smart a dog as I have ever met and good in social settings, children, other animals and dogs. He is a real charmer and brings a smile to the face of all who know him. People have been breeding mutts forever. Some are duds. Mutts with science behind them are hybrids. Were the heck did you think all the breeds come from Einstein?

I have a five year old have had dogs all my life collies German shepards saint Benards cocker spainiel mutts and coon hounds The reason I have had so many isn’t because they died it’s because I am so old . This dog is the healthiest dog I have ever had and the most entertaining but you do have to clip it every couple months or she gets to.hot:great for kids and a good watch dog.
This is not a "dog breed specific" It is a mutt...a mixed breed and they are prone to hyperactivity, skin disorders, matting. I would not recommend paying the EXCESSIVE amounts of money people are pouring into these animals as they end up in shelter in the end.

Except you don't breed "for the betterment of the breed"; dog confirmation shows and registries have for decades encouraged inbreeding and breeding for strict looks guidelines instead of intelligence, behavior or physical capabilities, which is what these dogs were originally bred for. Why are most mixed breeds healthier than almost any purebred? Designer dog craze is a bit silly but it's much better than the standardized breed system that didn't even really exist prior to the 20th century.
