Woodland sells blades specific for hardwood. You might be using their all-purpose blades which are more for a softer wood. We ran into the same problem until we switched over and we were able to mill a lot more. Other than that you're doing great buddy. Keep up the good work!
@@charfmander I have a hardwood blade on. The first blade that came with the mill cut 15 logs before I started having difficulty pushing thru. But those logs had been sitting for like 1-2 years. I haven’t milled anything since this log so I won’t know til then. I think it’s a good idea to fall a bunch of trees and let them sit cause the blade went thru those like a hot knife they butter.
You probably have one on your farm but if not you need a come along It can help maneuver those log’s around . Man I see a lot of benefits to that sawmill!
I’d have to learn how to weld and buy a welder first. It’s on my master list of skills to learn but it right I’ll eventually need a pulley system or a winch to help with turning huge logs.
When pushing the log with the excavator bucket, you need to get closer to reduce the length of the lever arm. If you half the distance you will double your pushing force.
