How different things were back then. Police actually receiving support. Today, the police would have been accused of terrorizing the neighborhood and harassing a misunderstood inmate.
That looks so much tougher than I expected. I wonder if all troopers undergo this type of training. But I literally don't see troopers all that much and assume it requires less work than this.
Police Academies are essentially boot camp light, every cop has to go threw this so if they're wearing that badge they earned it. Next time you see one show them some respect.
Most experience police force in the United States besides Alaska most of them come straight out of the military God bless these guys they're the coolest guys I've met so far been pulled over many times by then they always do what's right most of the time shout outs to the state s
For the minority recruiting, I think for some, it's just getting past the perceived prejudices and biases. You can say that it's a colorblind job but some don't feel that it is.
Military training is for those who are going to face an enemy. Have citizens become viewed as an enemy? According to my good friends who are retired from the profession, yes, that is the new view and it saddens them greatly and saddens me as well.
Why do para-military police forces exist in the US? A police force is supposed to be a civilian organisation, yet the State police seem to ape the military in appearance, manner, rank structure. I find it rather chilling.
They're probably better than regular police here. They're more disciplined like actual military. There are alot of well disciplined regular officers too.
+AntPDC I have to disagree with you, the state police are supposed to be the "best of the best", they don't tolerate most of the shit that officers in local police departments can maybe get away with. Sets a high standard for police in a world where a lot of people unfortunately don't respect the nature of the job. These aren't your "WHERE'S MY DOUGHNUTS AND COFFEE, I HATE MY JOB" guys, these are true police officers.
ive taken harder poops in basic training than this soup sandwhich & why the fuck are they wearing riding boots and gloves??? its a new age time to switch it up it should be form fitting and light weight
I had no idea of all the training, love this story. Love the State Police !!!!!
instead of making it abut race, how about they make it about hiring quality individuals...
elprez14 which they do, that’s literally what the academy is for

Most experienced police force.,Besides alaksa? What proof is there of either one of those statements?
Tough outfit- however their dress uniform looks as if it was designed in 1914...for a Calvary Division...
pillockbrain ito

Awesome!
This is literally BMT
Those uniforms are an officer safety issue, big time.

It isn't, they help out minorities more than white men. Just like every police organization.

No need to train like the military when your policing civilians
They do it in order to handle high-stress situations.
Toughest in the nation is the Michigan State Police academy. Twice as long and AT LEAST as physically and academically demanding as USMC MCRD.
Rhode Island State Police... how sad....
Only sad for imbeciles who lack the mental capacity to realize that the RISP is actually a top-noch LE agency that are widely respected nation-wide.
Grammar Police how sad, I’m not sure what you mean but the Rhode Island State Police is great.
Good but u are telling people what to do like bad people they look at the videos and they now what to do to help them get out what ever

+AntPDC State police is the american version of the gendarmerie with military discipline they police outside of the big cities

+Top Kek M9 I didn't question their standards - it's their para-military nature I find troubling.
+AntPDC What so troubling about that?
Those are the worst dress uniforms ever.
dmoneyas24 they win best state polices uniforms every year

I dont see individuals I see sheep.
