I currently own both of them, and there is another slight difference the buttons on the black Backbone feel more flat while the buttons on the PS Backbone have more bump.
Dude I legit thought I could only play my Xbox with the black one. I tried to play PlayStation but the backbone wouldn't connect to the remote play on PS5. It just kept giving me the touch screen controller. It worked like a charm for Xbox. Any tips on how to get it to work for the PS5 is there something I'm missing to get it to connect to the PlayStation app? My PS5 is set to allow remote play.
@@TheDoats mine just starts working from the start. Are you connecting through the PlayStation app or the backbone app? You have to turn remote play on in your ps5 settings also.
The Playstation edition allows you to play your ps5 remotely and only gamepass cloud games. If you get the backbone 2nd gen black one you can play xbox remotely but not ps5.
Apparently they limitation of the black backbones apply only to Android phones. And on Android they have a way better ps remote app called ps play. Which supports all controllers. So it doesn't really matter.

They use game pass which you could use with pc games also so theres a benefit there and also cloud gaming so you could play games on a internet connection without downloading them Playstation, yes. @@NasstiN8that depends who is your cell phone provider. I play it at work and I have T-Mobile and my downloads speeds are 900mbps which is extremely fast so all of my cloud gaming are smooth like butter

Does it play games straight from the actual console or does it have to be the gaming cloud ? for example Can I play gta5 but it isn’t on the gaming cloud it’s on my x box console
It’s all done from the console. You can literally test it right now for free by downloading the Xbox app and playing remotely. The only thing the backbone does is give you a controller to use in a nice little all in one package instead of connecting your actual Xbox controller to your phone

Not true. I brought my son the Xbox one on accident & he has to sign into his Xbox account & can’t sign into his ps5 account to play the free games on the backbone

The difference is you cannot use the black one for playstation remote play. So if you don't mind having xbox and steam only then get black.
Wrong buddy. I have the Xbox black backbone and on the backbone app you can play both and all of the cloud games.

The backbone joystick must same as ps5 controller and the backbone joystick must same as the Xbox controller 🤦🏻♂️

I heard the PlayStation backbone you can only play is when it’s connected to Wi-Fi while the X-box backbone you can play it without Wi-Fi
The backbone itself has no internet capability. Both backbone controllers are just that…controllers for your phone
I wouldn’t play without wifi regardless, you don’t get good streaming connection over cellular normally
