Your tutorials are teaching me everything, thank you!!! For lead free Amerway, do you edge bead at the same temp you run your regular bead? My edge bead always wants to drip :/

Yay!! I keep mine at the same temp, but I do solder really fast. Do you tin the edge, the front, & the back first before you start edge beading?

Hi ! Thanks a lot for these videos, they are very helpful ! Ihave a question about the jump rings : what size do you get, and what material is it ?

Yay! I'm glad they're helping😄 I generally use 15/32". They're 14 gauge pre-tinned wire. You can find the wire on My Favorite Tools & Supplies page here: www.mountainwomanproducts.com/stained-glass-tools-my-favorites/ I have a video on how to make them here: ruclips.net/video/8DerbnAyzoo/видео.htmlsi=9P9OYT1DNkMjrMkV

So cute! Using your Hakko iron, what temperature do you use for the different phases/areas of soldering your pieces?

Thank you!🥰 I run around 450 all the time. Buuuuuut.....I do primarily lead free. I vary my speed depending on if I'm soldering lines or edge beading. When I do a lead repair, I'm usually around 410-420. Buuuuuuut....everyone is going to be different. The faster you solder, the higher the temp. The slower you solder, the lower the temp. I always recommend starting around 375ish for 60/40 and bumping up in small increments til ya find what's best for your personal speed.

I know you said you prefer Ruby solder but I see you have Tourmaline there also. What do you use the Tourmaline for?

I’ll do a whole video all about lead free with comparisons of the different Amerway ones soon (a bit nutty working on Christmas orders at the moment😁). I tried a bunch of brands years ago and once I found Ruby, I loved it and stuck with it.
But, I wouldn’t be much of a teacher if I didn’t try some I never tried before, so there’s several types of lead free solder on my bench from messing around with them to compare. Spoiler alert for the comparison video:
Not a fan of Tourmaline at all.😢

Ohhhh thank you!! I'm so looking forward to this video. I'm happy to have come across your channel. It's hard to find artists to learn from that work with lead free. I'm having issues with my tips not staying tinned and oxidizing so I'm trying to find the right lead free solder and flux combo. If you have any advice on keeping your tips in good shape, please share in that video!

Not many of us do much lead free for sure! I've been using Canfield Blu Glass Flux for years & I love it. There's a link to it on My Favorite Tools & Supplies page on my site if your local glass store doesn't carry it. I also have a flux types comparison video on here too: ruclips.net/video/CwHZjlYgaDI/видео.htmlsi=PwSmXHBXhyS1a1qG @@debratryanowski620
