This is the best vid I’ve seen on flux! And the sound effects help too!

Omg, she has sound effects too! Subscribed! I love your explanations. You are so fun and you make me feel not-weird. My sister and I both make similar noises and use silly voices when we’re working. Thank you so much for this flux comparison.

Right on :) Thank you! Where did you get your little yellow clamp? When you solder really textured glass, does the solder line flow as smooth, or does it take on the texture? Good tip on taking a gob of paste flux out of the tub to use. Always do it w the liquid, but now w paste too, I guess. I like the paste best for zinc frame, jump rings, wire add ons because it stays in place. Liquid for the rest. Thanks again!

Yay! Happy to help! I got the clampy thing in a pack on amazon. There's a link to it on www.mountainwomanproducts.com/stained-glass-tools-my-favorites/. There's all kindsa colors in it, but the yellow one is my fav because it looks like a duck & makes me giggle a bit🦆.

Can the paste flux be the same for soldering copper pipes? And could there be other options for the glass sander?

It depends on the flux...you''ll want to check their product document sheets to see if it works on 60/40 solder or the lead free type you use. Nokorode paste flux I show in the video is very inexpensive, though it is a harsher flux than the Canfield Liquid.
For the glass grinder thing...there are alternatives, but unfortunately they're not good ones. Carborundum stones will take you 952 gazillion years of grinding to get the tiniest nubbin of glass off. Dremels can chip your glass & you'll not get the even grind you need cuz there's no grinder surface to set your glass on. Some of them are water resistant, but not waterproof...electric & water...eeeeeek!
If cost is the concern, I'd rather save up money over time and get the right tools so you don't end up wasting money wrecking glass (cuz glass isn't cheap!). Or, you can look for used ones on FB Marketplace, auctions, estate sales, etc. 😀
