  • While soldering my stained glass witch hat, I had a lil foil mishap. I show ya what to do & what not to do to fix it. I said parallel during the fix...and by parallel, I actually meant perpendicular. 😀

I love that you had a problem with the foil and didn't 'edit' it out. 🙂

I have been using the Emerald Amerway Lead Free, while using the Novacan Flux, and the flux is smoking up (I think it's the flux?) Maybe too much - maybe too little? Maybe the wrong Flux to use with Lead Free Solder? What would you reccommend! You make using Lead Free look effortless lol

Aw thanks! 🥰It didn't happen overnight. Lotsa technique & practice. My personal fav is Canfield Blue Glass Liquid. I have a video comparing different fluxes here if ya wanna check it out: ruclips.net/video/CwHZjlYgaDI/видео.htmlsi=9BkhI4vCeoTee9HJ

What temperature do you run your Hakko on ?

Temp is going to depend on how fast you solder and what type you're using, but I do Ruby Lead Free around 450ish, Emerald Lead Free around 460ish and 60/40 around 420-30ish. I'd start around 410ish for Lead Free and work your way up if you need to and 375ish for 60/40 and work your way up.😀
